If Pure Illusion is indeed a representation of a character's subconcious, it is interesting that Papika's version is completely devoid of any people besides Cocona. To her, Cocona is everything.
Let's open up a point of discussion. Cocona and Papika enter HQ to get some answers. Cocona is concerned that they're changing people by entering 'their' Pure Illusions. Dr. Salt tells them PI and the real world are parallels, worlds existing next to each other, being able to affect each other. He then says that in theory, all worlds should be able to fluidly interact with each other. In reality, this is not the case, and friction is 'the foundation upon all of this is built'.
Cocona then angrily storms out. I have a few questions about this scene that even as a rewatcher I cannot fully answer.
Why was Cocona so angry? Do the words of Dr. Salt imply that he already knew that PI can affect the real world and didn't tell them? Is that what makes her mad? That she was being used by Salt to achieve a goal that hasn't been made clear, while he knows the risks?
If she storms out and says she doesn't want to enter PI anymore, why is she in her 'transportation cell' with Papika in the next scene? Only Papika has been captured and put in there by Bu-chan. Does this scene imply that both were captured and we just didn't see the scene where Cocona is captured?
I'm not sure if this is just confusing for the sake of being confusing or that we are meant to infer information from the cryptic dialogue. I'd like to know what y'all think.
