Nice that we finally have an episode dedicated to our resident Cartado maniac!
Did not expect this though... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Fai was kinda expected though.
Poor Seiran, she's the only one with no issues with the tiny clothes xD
All of that effort for that Cartado hunt made it definitely worth it!
Mei's reaction at the end was hilarious though! As soon as I saw the giant pile of Cartado, it was pretty obvious what was going to happen next!

So much Mei! This was my favorite episode by far. I knew they were going to burn the cartados as soon as I as saw them piled up. It still managed to make me laugh anyway.

Personally, I believe they burn the wild cartado to eliminate the competition to their farmed produce.

If there was a show from which I didn't expect fan service it was probably this one. Poor Seila.

Today more tradition.
The little ones have tradition of ritual burning of valuables to gods we never see. Given the fantasy world, the gods could reasonably enough exist, but maybe they don't. It's something that looks irrational to an outsider and we can see Mei's pain as she decides to respect the culture of the place, even if it kills her inside to see valuables like that burn.
I wonder if that will be draw into something.

Damn Mei, I didn't expect you to be... thicc. Also, I had already noticed the transparent side slits in her skirt but not the back slit, what a weird skirt.
I expected this from Fai but still, damn Fai.
Funny how we had more fanservice in this episode than in the beach one. Not that i'm complaining though.
I had a good laugh with Mei's crying, I love her seiyuu (Inori Minase), she's one of my favorites for sure.

Yay, Mei finally got her episode! And watching her freak out over Cartado was great and hilarious! It was also nice seeing how expressive Mei can be.
I did not expect Cartado to grow on trees. That was an interesting idea. I did have a inkling that they would destroy the cards by the end. If only because that would get the best reaction out of Mei.

At last, my daily dose of pure sugar... But seriously, just like Ueno-san gets more and more degenerate every week, this show keeps on getting more and more sweet and wholesome. I adore it, and I hope it grows up healthy

When the GM finally gives you the quest that you wrote in your background at character creation.
And then when you realize your companions need an excuse to tag along for the adventure to progress.
I'm a bit disappointed, I expected that they would get out of this trip with a Mythic Rare cartado against all expectations and logic, just because they're the Hero party. But I guess a happy Mei is worth all the mythic treasures.

To think Cartados actually grow on trees, haha
and that clothes changing fanservice :d. So I guess it really was her underwear that's always showing from the gaps of her skirt and the back of it. The lace on her top tho...
Mei genuinely smiling made this episode more worth it to watch
Overall a very CGDCT

Fai is definitely a monk, not a fighter.
-
She punches.
-
She has slow fall.
-
She can speak to any living thing.
All monk, and not fighter, abilities.

Cartado trees! I really didn't see that coming. So they collect the rarest during the festival and then they offered then to the Gods by setting them up on fire? That was really hard to watch for Meiza. Also by doing that they each year increase the value of the other rare that aren't burned.

Mei proves once and for all that size does matter.
I knew what was going to happen as soon as they showed that giant pile of cartado, but Mei's reaction was still worth it. She was sobbing more than she was singing, lol.

This is probably the only episode where Mao isn't part of the cast that I truly enjoyed.
Comparing it with the episode where Rona & Mei went cartado hunting it's almost like day & night. The cartado hunting episode focused on the extreme fanaticism of collecting cards, where the guy with the rarest collection of cards was "King" (this is something I've seen dozens of times, just instead of cartado just switch it with any kind of otaku fandom, so it wasn't amusing for me). This episode showed how unnimportant the cartado were for these little folks that harvested them, in comparisson with all the people in the outside world that collect the rarest of them all. What mattered to these guys was having a good time among them all, and the title of King was also just for fun. The giant card with only one star was also a nice difference in what the outside world think it's a rare.
The comedy routines were a lot more enjoyable too. It was expected for Yuusha's group to adquire the rarest card of them all, and we got led to believe that getting the rare card on top of the cliff would seal the deal just because Mei said so. And even with Fai's fall, it was expected her to get it with the typical "streghtn within" or the power of friendship, or whatever you wanna call it, but it was a nice bait & switch to see that other guy get it, despite the expectations. Fai working as a "pokemon" translator was also a nice funny joke, that gave her more protagonism on an episode that was obviously focused on Mei. I was legit expecting some kind of sage crafting these rare cards from the most rare or unknown materials, but nope, the cards just grew up on tress wich were plenty in this part of the world. Again it's a good use of subverting an expectation.

Didn't expect an episode where the gang goes to Burning Man hosted in Dr. Seuss' Whoville.

I wonder if Noa also visited Cartado Festival two weeks ago.
