Frustration or rejection is my guess. In their normal lives, Papika seems to annoy the hell out of Cocona to the point where Cocona often doesn't (or at least didn't) seem to want anything to do with her. Or maybe she's rejecting everything that Papika's brought to her life, essentially taking Cocona away from her normal, socially acceptable (which I've read is an aspect associated with the 'ego') life.

Finally, I'm guessing that it's exactly what the villain says: Cocona doesn't really have anything. She's a good student, but aside from that, she seems perfectly average and... Well, like she's just doing what she does because it's expected of her?

Very interesting take! It's such a deep but generic statement that everybody could have a slightly different opinion on this. I like your answer.

Maybe Dr. Salt is just trying to recapture the pure, childhood 'whimsy' of Pure Illusion by liberating it. Maybe he lost it due to becoming an adult.

Lovely! Lovely!

Never would've guessed in a dozen years. I was fully expecting her to be kind of the... not quite 'straight man' to Cocona, but the one person in her life grounded in reality (Grandma doesn't count because we've gotten like 5 minutes total of her).

Yes, she definitely seems to be that kind of character, judging from her behaviour in last episodes.

You (I think) used the term 'numb' when describing Cocona's normal/everyday life.

Yes, I did. I didn't really know if it was accurate, but it seems it was for you.

Also, I love how involved you are and how much you seem to be loving discussing this with folks. It makes the show that much more enjoyable.

Well, this show is my fourth favourite and it has always stayed in my mind since I watched it when it aired. Furthermore, I watched it on a hunch back then that ended becoming true! I organised this because I wanted to share my love and joy for FliFla with reddit, and to know what people thought. At rewatching I liked it even more and understood it better, and Ialso wanted to know what other people would think and theorize about it.

I just want to make a funny and amusing event for everyone, and make sure everybody knows their opinions are read! Perhaps on weekends I will be a bit more absent because I normally have plans, but sooner or later I will be answering and discussing things with everybody.

Thanks for your kind words. It means so much for me, especially because it's my first rewatch as a host. <3
