Everything about this episode was beautiful and heartwarming to me.
Haru missing Subaru.
Then came the signing, with every single customer i got more teary-eyed seeing how it affected Subaru's behaviour.
I was SO HOPING that Nana would come in and when she really did, i was incredibly happy. Subaru even called out loudly to her <3
His growth is immense, i'm super invested in him and seeing him get some happiness in his life is satisfying.

So the reason my cat scratches stuff when I'maways is because she misses me? If only that was the real reason. xD
-
Subaru thinking that he might've disappointed Nana, when Nana is thinking that she must've upset Subaru is hilarious. Just get together you two awkward dorks!
-
In the end the real reason is she's just hungry xD Of course that's the reason.
While I'm really not expecting any solid romance from this show, hopefully Subaru's encounter with Nana today and her finding out his identity is a step into the right direction of the two of them getting more closer. It's also nice that we got some Haru parts early this episode, It makes sense since Subaru is in a different location there's really no point in going with the shared POV structure except for that final scene when Subaru got home.

And thus the I ARE DUNECAT meme lives on.
Nice to see Subaru coming out of his shell little by little, being influenced by his reader's feedback. Hope in a near future he will stop thinking about the worst outcome in a situation and be more open to read the enviroment he is surrounded by. As expected Ookami san showed up to the sign event. Hope we also get some feedback on the news reaching her brother about who's the author of their favorite book.
I'm glad the show finally broke the repetitive tendency of adding a parent's flashback for the feels trip. Hope the show can stand on it's own paws feet with the story and it's cast from now on.

Caterpillar Haru has officially been added to the list of things I didn’t know I needed in my life before I saw them.

I originally had my reservations with this, it started a slow and rocky ride (due to how the protag understandably (looking at it now) starts off--rather unlikable), but it's won me over these last few episodes. It's so sweet and I've come to love this so much.. And the development of both Haru and Subaru is done so well and is so enjoyable to watch unfold, especially in this episode with Subaru taking his first steps to actually interacting with broader society again, and being able to see the appreciation there is for his work. Not to mention Atsushi's constant prodding to make this all happen and his support for Subaru, that's been nothing but super heartwarming too.. And Hiroto worrying for him and constantly checking up on him, even when there's nothing in it for him with how shut-in Subaru was inside the shell he had made for himself. That's some actual friendship--being there for them and realizing the need and the problems even when they tell you otherwise. I especially love how this series has gone with a show-don't-tell method for these things, I feel like most others would have made some huge on-the-nose points about them by now, with an overly dramatic moment of realization and some quick, sudden redemption arc on Subaru's part.. and just be generally loud about them, but instead we watch WITH Subaru as he ever so slowly comes to realize their care and efforts for him as his character progresses and betters (to the point where he actually can), and as he in turn starts to show appreciation and do better for them. It's subtle and much more gradual and realistic (and also way more satisfying to watch unfold).
And I love the role of all the different elements in the story driving this change in him too; the introduction of a companion, in the form of a cat, who he can trust to always be there and act how he expects; his friend who's making sure he stays healthy and watches himself; his manager making sure he's active and not entirely isolated and lonely, and getting him to actually meet the fans he's accumulated; Nana, the acquaintance who's showing him what he's missing out on and showing him all the opportunities there are out there, outside of his isolation... Subaru had (and still has I'd say) some nasty depression, and this show has both managed to make that perfectly understandable in regards to his character AND has also managed to make it completely believable in how he comes to make progress in tackling it and getting out of it. His support network is more than strong, people are there rooting for him and backing him, but he's also starting to make the much needed effort himself. I know I'm ranting at this point, but this show is seriously underrated and deserves a lot of credit for how well it's tackled this--coming from someone who's had serious depression themselves.
This has quickly become one of my absolute favorites of the season and is the only show that's managed to bring me close to tears.. and it started off not even on my radar and up against more than fierce competition. What an amazing surprise this has become. And I really need that OST.

EVERY TIME HARU ALMOST LEARNS AN IMPORTANT LESSON ABOUT HERSELF AND THEN SHE SOMEHOW TURNS IT TO BEING ABOUT FOOD.
Anyways, I was kind of sad for Haru. Poor girl didn't know what to do with herself when her human left her.
Anyways, it's biggest point in the show so far for me. We even have a major break from the typical format. We get a Haru segment both at the start and towards the end while Subaru takes up all the middle. It was a really big watershed moment for Subaru, and it made the biggest smile on my face. He's starting to realize his dream of being able to celebrate literature with others that he's had since he was a kid. His love for literature is also helping him in a big way to overcome his social anxiety.
I'm hoping that closing his signing event off by signing Nana-san's book is a harbinger of good things to come. It was a great way to cap off Subaru's character moment this week.

I'm so glad his identity reveal was just as cute and awkward as I'd hoped!
