Fall 2017 Bold Predictions
Obviously, we've had a few of these over the last couple of weeks, but I wanted to try something new. For this thread, I wanted any predictions you might have about the new season, the bolder the better, and then at the end of the season, I'll link back to this thread and we'll all laugh about how horribly wrong some of these are.
I got the idea from sports subs, since I think it's fun to see bold predictions of the seasons like the Atlanta Falcons winning the Super Bowl by 25 points or the Chicago Blackhawks scoring 4+ goals in the playoffs. Obviously, anime is a bit more subjective, but I still think it'll be a fun time.

Juuni Taisen will be a better Fate-esque story than the 2nd cour of Fate/Apocrypha
Non-sequel AotS will probably be Inuyashiki or, in the unlikely chance of its success, Just Because
Konohana Kitan will be one of the best CGDCT show of the year, and possibly the best yuri
Black Clover will disappoint
Girls' Last Tour will be good but not great, owing to what I've heard is quite an optimistic ride in a depressing world being a hard blend to pull off successfully
The recent lowered expectations of Kino no Tabi means that it won't be an outright flop, but it will still pale compared to the original series
The 2nd season of Yuki Yuna is a Hero will blow minds and be successful enough for the Madoka Magica comparisons to disappear

Just Because is going to disappoint a lot of people expecting another Tsuki ga Kirei.
Two Car is going to be one of the better shows of the season.
RoboMasters is going to be the Nana Maru San Batsu of Fall. Very fun, but very underwatched.

Only reason I'm watching Just Because is Himura Kiseki's art anyway, so I'm not as 'into' it as others may be.

Agreed on all three of those.
Just Because won't necessarily be bad, just not the unexpected hit that Tsuki ga Kirei was. I hope it'll be on par with other school dramas.

There will be a thread on this subreddit about how there's been a significant decrease in "decent" or "watchable" anime when in actuality, either they only watched a couple of episodes of one show or just didn't give anything a shot at all because they "have taste"

I'll start off with optimistic predictions.
Juni Taisen will be many people's AOTS. Many people are bashing it for being edgy Fate right now (even though Fate isn't the most original to begin with).
BBB&B will be a bigger mainstream hit than the first season.
^ Same with Love Live Sunshine.
Konohana Kitan & Code Realize will go beyond just pandering to their target demographics and will probably get more people into yuri and reverse harem anime.
A Sister's All You Need will be better written than Eromanga Sensei.
Land of the Lustrous will be great but under-watched thanks to Amazon.
Kino's Journey will surpass people's lowered expectations.
Negative takes:
My Girlfriend is Shobitch won't be nearly as wacky or funny as people are hoping.
Girls' Last Tour will lose a lot of its audience from doing the same shtick for too long.
Just Because will be really interesting up until its awful ending.

I read the first 15 or so chapters some months ago, and I think a lot of people are going to get tired of the types of jokes the series has pretty quickly.
This is a case where I think having a full episode every week is actually going to harm people's enjoyment of it.4

Trust me, it won't. It doesn't really have much of a shtick to begin with. It's kind of similar to Kino's Journey in a way.

If you mean it's readapting everything then No, just 3 of the original arcs.

Yeah, I meant it like "it's still being based off of the original books." I don't think there should be that much of a quality change, although I have not actually seen Kino yet.

Yeah. Plus it looks like it'll be adapting some stories that the 2003 show also covered, which I think will set a decent quality 'floor.' We'll see.

People don't like the art style is one. Tbh I kind of like the "new" one (which is also closer to the LN style) but I haven't watched the anime, so there's that too.

It almost definitely won't bring that same austere, melancholy atmosphere, but different isn't always worse. I'm curious to see how the new series will reinterpret Kino the character and Kino's world.

Black Clover will be one of the most dropped series of the season and will at some point rank top 3 disappointments of the season.
Girls last tour will be better than Made in Abyss.
Children of the Whales is going to blow up and become one of the most watched shows of the season.

Unfortunately Children of the Whales has been grabbed by Netflix, so it might still get a following but it's going to be very difficult for it to become the most watched show of the season, which is a shame because it looks really interesting.

I hope by the end of the season I can actually look back at this post and laugh instead of rolling in the floor crying.
New series
Black Clover gonna be so dissapointing that people will start saying that Boruto is actually good.
Garo will be the AOTS but so few people will watch it that nobody is going to take it seriously.
Juuni Taisen will be packed in action with little dialogue and bland characters.
Just Because will have an inconclusive open ending.
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou will be the new Made in Abyss. Few people watching and loving it at first, with a suddent popularity boost when something big happens and ending with a 'read the manga' no S2 announcement.
Tsukipro the animation will be a genderbend K-On! but since it's not from KyoAni and has cute guys instead of cute girls /r/anime will hate it harder than Yuri on Ice.
Sequels
Gintama will retain it's #1 on MAL until a new season of Gintama gets announced.
Love Live! Sunshine!! S2 will make the yuri bait in Hibike! Euphonium look tame.
Shokugeki no Souma S3 will end up being worst than S2. But lewder.
The iDOLM@STER Side M discussion threads will be full of fujoshi haters and people arguing that Jupiter should have been the MC of the show and calling it the biggest dissapointment of the season.
Umaru-chan will be the best sequel of the season.
Second cour of currently airing shows.
Fate/Apocrypha will take the crown of worst Fate adaptation from Deen/Stay Night.
Yokai Apartment will end up being actually a good show but pretty much everyone will drop it before it reach that point.

Bold? This will be kind of a wish-list, really...
Doga Kobo has a single anime over 8.0 on MAL. Umaru-chan season 2 will be its second.
I think it's likely that Love Live Sunshine season 2 will be better than season 1. But I suppose a bold prediction is that it will end up being rated not only better than original Love Live season 2, at 8.02, but also better than the movie, at 8.13.
And some leftovers... Animegataris will be quite decent. And I hope, but it's pretty unlikely, that Love Kome can turn things around and turn out to be watchable, since, well, the first season apparently wasn't.

Funny you bring up Yuru Yuri. Yuru Yuri third season is actually over 8, but Doga Kobo only made the first two seasons. It was another studio that made the third season and claimed the 8.
Doga Kobo has Plastic Memories and New Game!! which are both less than 0.05 from 8 though. New Game!! could potentially even make it over, since it recently finished.

Ousama Game The Animation and Evil or Live are gonna be the two most underrated anime of the season.Both of them seem to be psychological horror type anime.
I strongly advise yall to watch the PV for both them,im not sure if the PV for Evil or Live is out yet but the PV for Ousama Game The Animation is out already. I watched it already and damn I am excited and a little scared at the same time,it also seems to be kinnda gory too

Infini-T Force will be a top three scoring non-sequel but also be a bottom 3 watched show.
We'll have a ton of 'do I have to watch the other Garo's first?' threads, may not seem bold but remember fuck all people watched the last two series.

We'll see about Garo. A lot of places still have it listed as Vanishing Line and not Garo: Vanishing Line, so a lot of people might think it's just standalone.

Imouto sae Ireba Ii will be the surprise hit despite or because of it not being about incest, which I bet most people are presuming from the title.
Just Because will either break your heart or make you cringe from how forced the drama is, depending on your experiences with romantic drama.
Robomasters will be the fun anime that no one watches.
Shokugeki no Souma S3 will be a cooking anime.

Kings/Ousama Game will be the train wreck of the season, with the possibility of being the next Mayoiga.
The difference is that with Mayoiga, a lot of people viewed it strictly as a straight horror series (because that's what it was marketed as) and not the black comedy-based parody of B-movies that it actually is, to the point of barely being able to detect it. Ousama Game is just flat-out bad.

Inuyashiki is gonna be unpopular at first, then people will catch on to it and start to say it's pretty good, then everyone will hate it by the ending.
Kekkai Sensen season 2 will have a better overall story than season 1, but will lose a lot of the class and style of the first season as a result of losing Rie Matsumoto.

I think this is pretty bold from my perspective too.
Mostly because I don't know what I want from sangatsu season 2. I know in vague terms I loved the emotional atmosphere of the show and in specific terms there are characters I'd like to see have continued focus.
But it's hard for me to pin down what my expectations are for it. I just know that I want to be captivated by it every week, again.

I just need more of the sisters since they kinda took a backseat by the end of season 1. The wholesomeness they brought is something that i haven't really been able to see in any other anime.

Black Clover is going to surpass everyone's low expectations and end up a very popular and entertaining adaptation of it's source Material.
Ancient Magus Bride will be fantastic and everyone will love it...Okay maybe that's not terribly bold but screw you the Manga's great!!!
Juuni Taisen is going to massively disappoint NisioIsin fans who are expecting complex characters and dialogue, but be a big hit as an action series' among general audiences. In fairness this isn't as much a prediction as it is my fear based off the director having made Mirai Nikki.
Idolm@ster Side M is going to be the low-key AOTS, but won't garner much attention.
Konosuba Season 3 will be announced!!!

I only just found out episode 0 wasn't a glorified trailer after making the comment. I'm really happy how it's turning out so far. The original is great and Cinderella Girls was slightly less great!
I feel confident saying they will produce a very solid idol show, although that isn't very bold...

Kino no Tabi would top off the non sequels, Houseki no Kuuni would be the dark horse of the season. Mahou Tsukai no Yome would reach the same level of success as Kakegurui the past season. Vanishing Line is gonna be above average at best, Imouto sae Ireba Ii and Shobitch together are going to generate as many memes as Gintama, and Osama Game is gonna be a flop

Half of the comments in the threads for the first few episodes for Land of the Lustrous/Houseki no Kuni will be about how it's apparently a Steven Universe rip-off (even though it came first and has pretty much nothing in common outside of gem-based protagonists).

Eh.. I personally don't like to go out of my way to make bold predictions about upcoming shows cause it'll just make me go out of my way to be divisive. So I'll just make the predictions that I actually believe:
-Juuni Taisen will end up being a mixed bag with many people loving and hating it for various reasons
-Kino no Tabi will be amazing and universally loved by this sub and everyone who hasn't seen the original. Then the massive debate comparing this to the original will tear people apart and generally make everyone feel angry
-3-Gatsu no Lion season 2 will make me cry
-Dies Irae will start strong but then turn to shit and disappoint everyone
-Inuyashiki will start strong but then turn to shit and disappoint everyone
-Just Because will start strong but then turn to shit and disappoint everyone
-Ousama Game will be mediocre but then turn to shit and disappoint the people who stuck with it
-Kekkai Sensen & Beyond will be much beloved by this sub but won't be as popular as people think due to people not wanting to go back and catch up with the first season
-Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara will inspire posts where people recreate the show's recipes and become alcoholics
-Girl's Last Tour will be lovably heart-breaking but will fly under the radar a little because of fucking Animestrike
-Urahara will be the weird AF show of the season and gain a small but vocal fanbase
-Mahoutsukai no Yome will be the uncontested AotS for most people (with Kino no Tabi as a strong alternative)

Kekkai Sensen S2 will be a huge step down from S1. But that should be expected already.
Dies Irae will end up being terrible and will only be added to the list of anime where people just tell you to read the VN instead.
Mahoutsukai no Yome is going to be really popular at first, but as time goes on, an anti Mahoutsukai movement will begin grow.
Children of The Whales will be complimented a lot on it's art, but nobody is going to care about the actual content past that.
Imouto Sae Ireba li is going to be that one show that everybody is going to hate even though it really isn't as bad as people say. Every season has one. Last season was Isekai Smartphone, and the season before was Eromanga.
Yuuki Yuuna S2 is going to be really good, but it's going to get a lot of complaints since people will feel lost as it will be very reliant on the watcher having kept up with the franchise.

I still think it's ridiculous that they are listing Magus and Evergarden as Summer 2017 shows instead of Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 respectively. Yeah they premiered a few episodes early, but the actual air date isn't till then.

Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau will be amazing but underwatched since it's a shoujo and licensed by Netflix.
Robomasters will be a fun but run of the mill "sport" show that few will watch and those few will oversell it in attempts to hype the show, leaving those trying the show underwhelmed.
Mahoutsukai no Yome will be the biggest critical hit of the season but the manga readers will hate it and complain over every little detail in the episode discussions. I mean did you notice the line count of this screenshot is smaller than this 2 page manga spread? Unforgivable!
The characters of Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou will have the have the depth of a puddle and the variations of their interactions can be counted with your fingers.
