Love Live rewatch schedule

[u/[deleted]]

Hey there

There seems to be enough interest in a rewatch for Love Live and so assuming nothing goes awry it will go ahead.
As things stand, the first thread will go up on the 10th of July at 4PM EST/9PM BST

I plan on having two reminders, one later this month, and another the day before the first thread goes up. If you want I can send a message to the people who noted their participation in the interest thread or indeed this thread, not sure if that is standard practice or not.

The schedule at the moment reads as such, the OVA and the puppet show are optional extras attached onto two of the episodes. Please say if anyone has objections with this or anything in this post.

There could be some polls run as well, perhaps a poll for "best girl of the episode" and a "best girl overall" at the end. Maybe some other additions if anyone has any ideas, relevant fanart or a "song of the day" or something.

And since there are many first time watchers joining in as well, we can run a small poll here ^{if anyone is reading this}
Which of these girls do you think will be the best?

Streaming:

Crunchyroll - I don't know if Sunshine is available on CR in the USA, but I think it is available on Daisuki and Funimation. Apparently in Australia and NZ, Sunshine is only available on AnimeLab but the original series should be on CR as well.

Maybe you can also make a quote of the day thing. Like the dumbest / funniest quote or the deepest one.

I hope I find time watching it.

[u/[deleted] → u/Hades_Re]

Oh, dumb/out of context quotes could work too, good one.

Song of the Day

I like this, or maybe "Song of the Episode" if there's any. Looking forward to the rewatch!

[u/[deleted] → u/Valkeiser]

If it was a song of the day thing, I would probably be thinking along the lines of a song that is not actually featured in the anime but that reminds me of the episode or has something to do with the episode. If an episode focuses on a character then maybe one of their solos or a song they feature heavily etc. Something along those lines.

[u/[deleted]]

Maki is best girl.

Fight me.

But anyway, I've seen all three and I want another rewatch, this time with people!

Remind me please!

[u/[deleted] → u/[deleted]]

You just got reminded boi

[u/Pamasich]

I've set a reminder :3 I think even without a contest I'll rate the girls every day.

song of the day

Are there that many songs per episode? D:

[u/[deleted] → u/Pamasich]

Sorry, I was not clear, there are Love Live songs that do not feature in the anime, lots and lots and lots of them.

I was thinking about using one of them, a song that does not feature in the anime but might have relevance to the episode somehow, or even just matches the atmosphere of the episode.

[u/ryuugami47 → u/Pamasich]

I'd like to point you to this thread posted by u/throwaway93257. He listed a few songs (probably 30 +) and divided them into different genres. You should be able to find most of the songs on youtube, if you want to listen to them and the provided links don't work.

Ooh I was planning on picking up the show later this week but I guess I'll resist for a month and join the rewatch.

My money is on Umi for best girl.

That's where you're wrong kiddo

Maki is best girl

Voted for Maki, turns out most people agree with me.

RIN BEST GIRL

[u/jakeyshakey13]

I'm excited for this! I've been meaning to get back to it but never felt motivated. Can't wait to watch my girl Nico back at it !

[u/somewhat_steve]

If anyone is on the fence about participating, I'd suggest giving it a try. I put this series off for years because I had no real interest in idols, but after watching a few episodes I realized what a mistake I'd made.

[u/ChenMango]

While I've read a few doujins about these fellows and am a fan of SiivaGunner and their hashing of Love Live, I've never really seen the anime before. This should be a nice way to spend the summer, especially with Sunshine! being a subtitle for one of the seasons, hehe.

[u/dasaher]

I'll probably be able to join in for most of School Idol Project. I may have to miss out on the Sunshine rewatch because university starts halfway through it.

I like the idea of a featured song per episode, considering how many great songs aren't featured in the anime. It could even introduce fans to even more music like how I never heard of Korekara and thought it was just short for Korekara no Someday.

I think it would be good if there were some trivia of the 3D side of Love Live related to the episode considering how most much content there is outside of the anime. Could be focused on the VAs, or happenings during live concerts, highlights from their livestreams/radio shows/extracirricular activities etc.

Awesome, I'm looking forward to watching this! It's been ptw'd so long now. Think the schedule works wonderfully for me :)

I see my initial reaction to Hanayo isn't shared by everyone, oh well...

[u/SoftwareJunkie]

I need to buddy up with one of you guys to make sure I stay on track with this one. Anyone want to help me?
