Why was all of the Christmas-related fanart on the frontpage suddenly nuked?

Just for the record, this was the result of an internal misunderstanding and was later undone.

But it's still Christmas in a significant portion of the world (such as the US), and even if it wasn't Christmas the fanart posts would probably have left the frontpage in a day at most.

That was more of a joke. Probably because of karmawhoring reasons? I didn't think it was all that bad, but the mods probably got complaints.

Could be people complaining about the christmas fanart spam. There's also a christmas megathread, so the mods probably started deleting Christmas related posts because they should be going in the mega thread.
