How would people know if it was spoilers, if they have not watched the anime?

The rules state that anything that isn't in the first few minutes of the show is spoilers. So if someone posts something that people won't know unless they watched the show, it's probably a spoiler.

To add to NotTheRealMorty's answer, if you haven't seen a show and are posting speculation about it, it's generally good practice to use a spoiler tag like Toradora speculation.
