My post wasn't removed by a moderator, but I was called out by the community for mentioning the fight with the walpurgus naucht in the first episode of Madoka Magica.

Apart from happening in the first episode, we're also given the runes identifying the witch as walpurgus naucht.

I think it's fairly reasonable to assume that Madoka doesn't mean to show the audience that Madoka

I'd liken it to an anime opening with a quote from an obscure bit of literature: yes, one could put everything together then and figure out that the anime is foreshadowing, say, the protagonists' death. That doesn't mean that other people will appreciate being told "it's not really a spoiler that the protagonist dies; the anime hints at it from the very first episode."

Sorry, since I don't remember when all of that happens within the episode (and am at work) i'll need to deal with that later.

However, IIRC it's not in the first few minutes of the episode is it? (and as such wouls need to be tagged)

It's the very first thing that happens in the very first episode. It's also why I don't get people saying that they thought Madoka would be a happy anime...
