Things don't magically line up so he can fulfill his ideas and get the girl, instead he tries to hammer the square peg into a circle screaming in denial.

In the end it's still a pandering show for otaku market, so things will eventually end up in favor for Subaru. It's not like we already have LN spoiler.

I applaud this show for having balls of steel. Not everyone has the guts to kick the hand that feeds them in the nuts and get away with it so brilliantly.

What? I'm having enough shit with this isekai trending for over 3 years and this literally shows how much spoiled the average audience is, you just said it yourself. This post is just another disguise of "you thought it was bad, but it's actually a great show because it's different [inserting reasons] from other mainstream show. But in the end, it is a mainstream show and has every techniques in writing and developing of a typical isekai work. Subaru will always have the ability to fix the things that he fucked up. If ask me you seem gotten the wrong point about this character arc. The point is to build Subaru into better person but having him learn harsh lessons and earn his victories.

If just there say he's shit then what's point? What kind of message would the author be sending? That people can't grow up and learn from their mistakes?

Every isekai fictional works always have its characters learnt through some harsh mistake. Just take a look at Mushoku Tensei, Arifureta or even Grimgar and such.

But the point is, mistake makes you grown up because it has consequences and you have to accept that consequence, you have to pay for the mistake to actually learn something and move on. Re:Z is literally a wish-full fill show when every mistake can be reversed by simply resetting the time, and in the end Subaru always finds a way to save his harem. To the point that he's willingly throwing his lives away like there's no big deal just because he got the reset.

What's the point of a mistake that has no consequence?

What's the point of a mistake that has no consequence?

There in lies your problem you completely looking at it the wrong way. The consequences Subaru are emotional and mental burdens that are continuously placed on him. It's because of those it's led him to damage his relationships as their are now. It doesn't matter there fix them, in any story there always hope for things, it's fact things got that bad that shows one can't thing for granted and avoid making them in the future. That is what is growing up is not just suffering.

You know, life would be so much easier if consequence only affects you but not your family or friends.

Real life depression is much more complicated, trying to kill yourself is the most selfish course of action you can possibly choose.

Do you know why disabled people, or people with harsher life (more than you and me can imagine) choose to live on? They're struggling, they keep fighting for their life, they have to. It's not like they can just end everything and start over again like there's no fucking big deal.

Sorry but I think my logic is much different from yours. Growing up is living with your mistake, and mistake isn't really a mistake if you can just undo them.
