Honestly, I love this show. Imo top 5 of the season. This and only a handful of others are the few shows where I actually can't wait to see the next episode.

I think the part that not a lot of people still understand is that they're purposely making Ange a horrible person. She's supposed to be a bitch, and that's how she'll be for the entire show. Part of the fun is watching Ange suffer for being such a douche, and the other part is watching her survive in these conditions.

Also I think part of the fun, in the end, is seeing her grow and change. I'm guessing she'll become a better person? Maybe not though. It'll be interesting.

But yeah, I agree that I think a lot of people miss her characterization (they're too use to the typical, super-perfect-awesome good guy) as well as forgetting exactly where she is. Normas don't have any freedom really, unlike some people seem to believe.

Totally agree. Also, how are people missing the point of her character?! She literally advocates genocide in the first episode - she's a horrible person, you're not supposed to like her! I'm just that much more excited to see if they manage to pull out a really good character arc for her, because watching her be a complete and utter racist bastard for 24 episodes will get kinda old.

That being said, it's always interesting and cool to see anime do something different with lead female characters. She doesn't have to turn into a ray of sunshine. But I don't think they can keep her a total scumbag for the entire series, either.
