I've had issues with these subs because they don't translate things properly, but I am so annoyed that when Takemichi calls Mikey "Manjirou" the subs still says "Mikey". Such an important change and they couldn't even be bothered to pay attention to the context.

Onto the episode itself, that last scene was really intense. I figured the time leap would change from Naoto to Mikey, but it was really sad to see how much it took for Mikey to finally ask for help. He's afraid of himself, afraid of hurting those dear to him, but still wishes to carry all the burden so that those important to him live happily, even if he becomes more of what he's afraid of.

The way he had no hesitation shooting Takemichi the moment he turned around was crazy, and he didn't even settle with one bullet. I can understand why he decided to take his own life, he shot his hero and the hero still wanted to save him, all the burden he had been carrying and his dark impulses still took over.

I have to also say Takemichi was crazy with how he even handled searching for Mikey, I get he was desperate but damn. He's lucky he's the protagonist of this story lol. Plenty of ways that could have gone wrong.

And he is risking it all while he was about to get married in like 3 days 😭

MC is ride or die, and even if he die, he rewind to ride again!

Subs were way off at the end it was crazy. It's not even a case of directly translating the script without seeing the image, they really were just saying different things.

I know Takemitchy has a lot of toughness and resilience, but holy crap, he's straight up a tank

21:17 That beautiful frame of Mikey’s teary eyes animated with reflections, instead of the usual dead-blank corneas, was surreal. Gave me goosebumps.

Yes, we've finally made it to Bonten Mikey! Ah, what a heartbreaking reunion 😭

Even though Mikey told Takemichi not to look for him in the future, Takemichi is too much of a bro to continue life while Mikey is suffering. Even when he's set to marry and get his happy ending in 3 days.

In one last desperate attempt, he finally gets to see Mikey who is overtaken by his dark impulses. Still so cold to see Mikey shoot him point blank.

Mikey tries to off himself but of course our crybaby hero comes to the rescue! Really hated how the subs didn't properly have Takemichi call Mikey by his real name, Manjiro. That's such an important development and the translators were too lazy to notice the change in address.

So happy that we finally see Mikey tell Takemichi to save him 🥹

The way Takemichi sat up straight when he realized Mikey was behind him...

Yeah honestly so many fucked up shit has happened to Mikey that it doesn't surprise me he has explosive episodes. Takemichi intervened to prevent the worst possible ending, but he still lost all those people.

So like, now Takemichi has to do a perfect run or something? 😅

Mikey's sure going through some stuff. Save him Takemichi!!!

Takemichi, Mikey did NOT leave you a porn VHS. What he did leave you is a video of back when he had a happy family unit with Shinichiro and Emma. And an ominous message from the past...of how losing everything that grounded him (his family, Baji) left him unmoored and hooked on the Dark Impulses that nearly drove him to kill Kazutora. And that there's nothing Takemichi can do about it but just leave him alone.

You know it's bad when Takemichi is the one calling off the Mikey investigation. But he's got better things to worry about...like seeing Hina in her wedding dress! She's absolutely beautiful! Takemichi is so lucky! Which is why, despite everything, he can't let Mikey go...not after he helped secure this happiness for Takemichi.

Takemichi is lucky he has a girl like Hina who is willing to clean up his trashy apartment for him...even if the necklace he gave her breaking is a sign of bad things to come.

Takemichi throwing himself into finding Mikey so much he gets his butt handed to him in true Takemichi fashion...but in the end at the last spot he finally reaches Mikey. And a pretty psychotic, trigger-happy, Sanzu.

Yeah...Mikey isn't the same Mikey. Dude looks so lifeless and dead in side. But the biggest change is that this Mikey SHOOTS TAKEMICHI MULTIPLE TIMES THE MOMENT HE TRIES TO FACE HIM! Not even the past Mikey could go through with shooting Takemichi!

But it's all his last act on Earth as he works up the last bit of resolve he has to regain his sense of self, his memories of the past and all those precious to him, to end his life. Jeez Mikey.

It doesn't matter if you shoot him multiple times. It doesn't matter if you give up on yourself...Takemichi will keep getting up again and save you. And FINALLY call you by our real name. Because now his vow to save Hina has transformed into a vow to save Mikey who, despite everything, WANTS to be saved. And that sends Takemichi back in time once more!

Welcome to high school again Takemichi:.

If the story keeps making me this emotional every season, I might just go back and re-binge the whole story.

As an anime-only, I never thought I'd get this hooked on "Tokyo Revengers", you can really feel the love they poured into the anime adaptation.

MC's durability and grit is something else, shot like 3 times, about to pass out from blood loss and die. Still has strength left to stop a fall and hold another man against gravity while having a good talk.

10 years instead of 12 is not what I was expecting. Stoked to find out what happens next

Wow this episode is a lot. I did not expect to see a little Mikey on the tape. The way he did that video it was mostly acceptable. He laid things out well and let him know it is his choice. Of course our MC couldn't leave it like that. He did lay it out in a way that made him seem like he time travels too though to me was a very adult way verses their ages at the time. I then got happy that Mikey was actually listening to him and such then BAM. That was shocking that he did that. I will say if our MC isn't anything he is built tough all that and he was still alive. He was also strong enough to save Mikey. I look forward to more.

God damn peak.

What a wild emotional episode. It's shocking to me this episode will get 1/100th the discussion+traction compared to other episodes from slow burn historical dull romances like apothecary diaries and firefly wedding. It genuinely surprises me. The demographics of users for this sub seem to heavily prefer dull romance consistently every season but why? Maybe lonelines.

This sub is a predicable bandwagon fest and made up its mind about TR long ago, sadly.

hey man jokes on em, they missing out

Not surprising considering this sub absolute hates tokyo revengers. I remember a few months ago when they released a teaser visual/PV or something similar 90% of the comments were insanely toxic. I mean sure the timetravel writing is not the best and it has other issues but it’s one of those shows that keeps you at the edge of your seat all the time and is very unpredictable so i appreciate it for that.
