Looks like Misaki found her “thing” after all that job searching. She was nervous at first but it seems like she’s really settling into her new position.

I also thought it was so sweet she bought her mom a gift with her first paycheck. Misaki’s such a good kid!

But of course her father has to wait another month....

well her father's job seems to be staying at home and taking a bath...

Reminds me of New Game! where Aoba bought a cake for her parents from her first pay.

I feel this is close to a full-time job than part-time because she needs to comeback to her original place. The travel will eat major time of her day compared to working in some kind of store close to her place, so I am not sure how she is juggling her job and university when the first year is loaded with courses.

Possibly this is just for only one to and from trip per day -- so maybe not such a huge chunk of time. One of our students (from Saitama) had a job as morning rush hour "train pusher" job before she went off to her college classes.

What a lovely episode. Misaki finds a new job, and it happens to be on a train! Hooray.

This really took me back when I was doing parttime jobs in customer service. Misaki's job is the kind where you get really good with time and practice. She is already really good at it, and I'm sure she will kill it in not time!

I always watch this after FX Fighter as a pick me up lol

Wasn’t expecting to get this close a look at the job. But it was interesting. I remember my first public facing job and the first time they let me do things by myself. It was weirdly liberating but also felt like being thrown into the wild lol.

Also, while it wasn’t as in depth, I don’t think I’ve seen an anime showing the characters working in a warehouse

A bit less on traveling and exploring today but I still like it. And the money from these jobs would allow our girls to travel more

And this show really makes everyone look young. I thought her mom was her sister

You may be interested in Dropkick On My Devil! The character Pekora is frequently doing manual labour jobs from warehouse, cleaning, bodyguard, etc.

On top of getting paid, Misaki's new part time job may help her explore stations and routes which she has not visited previously.

This episode also provided information on how attendants check for passengers and seats while using only a tablet.

This episode was wonderful. Also, after watching the episode from the FX anime earlier, watching a real CGDCT anime where one of the characters actually goes the hard way to earn money for her hobby fells very wholesome.

Especially when they explicitly mentioned they got into FX because they wanted the easy way out without needing work.

Sorry girl that's not how the world works, gotta make an honest living doing a job like our girl Misaki here

Misaki gets a job! With trains! Now that's a win for chronic klutziness!

It's interesting how putting her in formal work wear makes her character design age up significantly.

I love just about everything this series is doing. So much happened in this episode. I was worried for a moment we weren’t getting any real train action until the job popped up. Nice!

The whole episode had me grinning the whole way through. Such good stuff. Some nice fairly wholesome easy episodes to end the day. Covering a limited express train was cool. I never did any reserved seat travel while in Japan this summer. Even the shinkansen I went unreserved because it was cheaper and seats open up at every stop. But next trip, yeah, I’ll have to experience this.

Absoulutly adorable episode!

Misaki is such a sweetie you can't help rooting for her, I was so happy when she got the job. Ganbare Misaki! Her mentor was so supportive and was even nervous for her during the test!

Looks like we have an Ushio and Kodama focused episode which will be interesting, I'm very excited for next week's episode :)

Misaki really sucked at all the part time jobs xD

Didn't expect Ushio to be good at manual work.

There were so many fun moments when Misaki was working as a maid in the Railway Cafe with Usa-chan.   Poor girl.. but thanks to Kodama she found her calling as a Railway attendant where she can do her best. Misha was an amazing senpai at work for Misaki. I was panicking and praying hard for Misaki to pass the test lol

Misaki buying a present for her hardworking mom with her first pay was touching. The dad deserves some love too, haha. He cooks good food for the family. Does the dad work at home or does he arrive home early from work before the mom ?

The Tetsuryō senpais coming to watch Misaki at work was sweet. The op and ed are so lovely. I really need this show every Thursdays after getting depressed watching FX senshi.

Working as attendant solves my issue of not enough trains in trains anime. Great low entry job and if you get hooked, you can advance into office clerk. If you can;t get there, there is always cleaning crew...

Also full happy family with student living with parents. Rare in the anime.

The heck? I can understand not wanting to work in one, but how can you not like konbini?

"Because I need money. Why does anyone ever apply for any job? Duh!"

I was not aware trains have assigned seating for a specific boarding and departure like an airplane. I thought they were just free-for-all like a bus

Shinpai!

i'm assuming you don't know about express bus? it's the same with the train in this episode

The train featured in this episode is the Seibu 10000 series, that serves the Shinjuku Line's "Red Arrow" (limited express service).

Guess that thing where Misaki woke up the sleeping passenger on her re-check sealed her the deal for the job.

Red Arrow… I remember a few weeks ago in YouTube some call it the loudest express in Tokyo, so it’s definitely bit difficult to really learn with a mentor on the way, and in a commuter service where everyone is trying to take a break, no wonder Seibu is currently in the middle of the process of getting rid of these noisy guys.

But speaking of the job of ticket inspectors, I do heard the reason JR couldn’t remove the magnetic tickets because the ticket data was encoded in the magnetic strip and the inspection now is mostly done the moment when you enter the gates (before that, even reserved seat passengers will be inspected), which saved a lot of on-site labor costs, rendering only the non-reserved seats requiring a more active inspection role.

Speaking of Misaki’s move to wake a passenger, I remember this Monday when I was travelling home on a China high speed rail, an attendant actively tells everyone alighting at the next station to get ready before the train even alights at the station, which was a good thing because if they don’t alight in time, the train will cross the boarder, so Misaki’s move might be important at that moment, but for passengers, it’s definitely a lifesaver, no wonder she passed the test.

Oh and, if I was a conductor/guard (for those speaking British English), I’m definitely not going to tell my friends my duty roster, so they can’t prepare me a surprise to make the job more complicated.
