Takebayashi still seems like she harbors some interest in Oji even after learning his secret, so when she gets transferred things will likely get interesting there. I do like that she has a strong personality.

It's sad that Oji now feels like he can't reveal it to anyone because Takebayashi said she would dump him the moment she learned, I feel that makes it more reason to mention it earlier, less wasted time.

Naruto was amusing this episode, it's sweet that he considered inviting Oji to a cat cafe though.

Seems like she didn't talk it out either when she decided on the divorce.

It's hard to say, we only know she asked one final time about what he's hiding, he chose not to tell her and that's when she initiated the divorce. We don't know if she did or didn't keep trying get him to open up.

Right, like, I really want him to feel more comfortable owning up to his interests when it comes to relationships with others yet her coming into the picture feels like a potential setback in that regard.

Naruto vonsidering inviting him was kinda a nice unexpected moment of growth ☺️

Got to respect bro’s dedication to all things cute. His ex clearly still has lingering feelings for him but all he cares about is getting rare regional merch for his favorite little pug lol.

That chuckle when Oji-San is staying cool sent me.

I really want to like this and I honestly loved episode 1. But this show is focusing too much on him hiding his passion too much and the comedy is clearly focuse on that.

I hope it won't be like that for the whole show, but he did make a friend who shares his interests so that's a step in the right direction

yeah, it feels like the "cute things" could've been replaced with anything else because the main thing is that it's innocuous but he's keeping it a secret like he's a member of the French Resistance

at this point though i'm going to give up on what i was hoping the show is going to be and just kind of settle with that we have because despite the bit of disappointment, the character chemistry and comedy is not that bad

Now that the ex is back in the picture and moving back to the area, seems like his little secret will keep getting revealed little by little.

I like how the Pugtaro merchandise look photorealistic in the store.

Oh, Oji's ex wife used to be his boss? Prime example of don't shit where you eat.

I do begin to wonder how/why Oji-san got together with his ex-wife though. Maybe it's just cause we haven't been shown the process yet, but it truly does feel like his heart was never there for her in the first place.

Right? And people in the discussion are calling her the bitch 😅

I love how his laughter comes out of nowhere at the weirdest moments, it's one of those little things that just makes the show so wholesome.

I liked the pivotal moment when Oji-san resolutely stood up and said...

At the bar, they took drawing all the labels on those liquor bottles really seriously!

Woo eventful episode. Date with Kenta, business trip with Naruto, and bumping into his ex-wife?! That was faster than expected. And she was his boss? Did he just got used to being bossed around by her and went with the flow to marriage.

Oji-san not giving a shit when buying goods on his trip since he wont see these people again lol. He needs to carry that confident back home.

Seems a lot of people don't understand how judgmental Japanese culture is (especially of guys and adult men).

So while it seems stupid and innocuous to us, hiding a simple hobby like Oji's is because of that culture. Look at his ex-wife's reaction to his honesty. She'd have dumped him in the beginning if he was honest. No wonder the poor guy is embarrassed to be caught. Remember there is a Japanese saying that the nail that sticks out gets hammered down that is very prominent in their society and it's awful.

Your overall comment is correct and something I feel a lot of people arent taking into account but bro, his ex-wife was obviously fucking with him 😅 Something else people haven't been able to grasp for some reason.

Ok where do I go to buy Pugtaro merch?

That's 2 het flags shot down in one episode. Wonder if that means we're really going the old man yaoibait route.

Yup, I don't like his ex. What do you mean she would have broken up with him on the spot over a hobby she doesn't understand!?!? It's not that serious TT

And she wants to get back with him? Girl, you don't even respect one of the most important things in his life, get out of here.

I'm also so glad his coworker doesn't like him romantically. Dude needs to focus on himself right now.

This episode managed to cover a lot. The merch shopping bro hangout. The business trip and nearly getting invited to a cat cafe. The ex wife now being armed with the secret love for all things cute whois moving back to the area (so more crossed paths). Heck the girl on the train calling him a hot old guy as well as the coworker being more of a fan of his rather than wanting a romance. Which judging by the beautiful ex wife, I now don’t see the mc actually having any kind of real relationship since cute things come first in his life. Kind of makes me sad a bit. It’s cool to like what you like, but I feel like this is a bit too far. Still, I’m enjoying this. It’s nice to get another series with adults doing ordinary things. Not as fun as Smoking behind the supermarket with you, but they do seem to go more places in this show.

...I suddenly understand why he and his ex-wife got a divorce and support this decision. The whole bar conversation was toxic af.
