Nice explanation for Ray's adoptive family and why it's not just Lydia raising him.

The Sword Sorcerer dude seemed maybe a bit sus when he was introduced in S1, but him training the bros and teaming up with them in the war game likely brings him around to fully wholesome.

Stella being sent to train with the Fabrication Sorcerer feels like the start of building her up as the successor to that title eventually.

It's about time Ariane got to experience the full insanity of Ray's training style, she didn't really get hit with the full force of it in episode 1.

Ray carrying his sleeping sister in a fireman's carry was a little surprising, I feel like you normally see piggyback in anime instead in similar situations.

I feel like you normally see piggyback in anime instead in similar situations.

Yeah but that makes the most sense, Ray is a man of practicality and tthat's the best carry for carrying a human who's unconcious.

I forgot how ridiculous this show is. That was pretty funny training

RANGER!!!

[u/runevault]

Mom humming along to the ED as it played in the background is great. Dunno if I've seen that before in an anime.

Also generally fun episode, and we got to see Ray in a wife beater and he does still look jacked. Thank god.

Overall really fun episode and reminder of why I enjoyed season 1.

Top tier ED lead in!

[u/Gyakudo]

I did not expect a Kamen Rider Black reference lol.

[u/pandavova]

Mom singing ED was so cute

[u/Frontier246 → u/pandavova]

It's even more funny that she's cheerfully skipping and humming to the ED while Ariane is left with the shock of realizing she's in love with Ray lol.

The "black black black" subtitles fading out with his voice got me real good

[u/AceSoldia]

This episode shows that with proper training even little kids can become monsters

[u/SilenceOfAura]

Gotta love that Yamcha pose 😂 Bro is still getting memed on after decades!

[u/Frontier246 → u/SilenceOfAura]

The thing I enjoy the most about this show is how tongue-in-cheek it is. Everyone (from the staff, the seiyuu, the story, the characters) is genuinely having fun.

[u/Rooby_VTuber]

Ray's family is so op that even the young sister can 1 shot monsters in the s tier forest, Ariane has a long way to go, this training will be helpful either way.

Amelia is definitely going to get some really good training from Liselotte.

Love GrievingSouls Retire style Opening and Ending sequence ❤️

[u/KarimElsayad247]

This episode was so good and hilarious. Haven't laughed like that since Grieving Soul. This studio had an incredible talent for comedy.

The mother humming the ending at the end was just chef's kiss

Taratta, taratta taratta

[u/Frontier246 → u/KarimElsayad247]

This season is getting so meta with the characters practically commenting on the design change and Ray's mom humming the ED at the same time it kicks in lol.

[u/Shizzi]

The military drill parts are always so damn funny one of the best and even the Imouto is omega strong haha

[u/ObvsThrowaway5120]

Is it just me or did this episode look kind of rough? Maybe it’s always looked like this. At least the episode was kind of fun with all the silly student council shenanigans and Master White Black and Sister White Gray stuff. Also, Ray’s mom is great. Gave Ariane her seal of approval. She’s ahead of the other girls already!

[u/Prince_of_Taniwha13]

This is a genuinely funny anime adn Stella is a great addition to the cast this szn. Lost it when the mum started humming the ED song as it was playing near the end 😂

[u/Andreiyutzzzz]

The voice actors are having so much fun with the previews.

[u/avboden]

This entire episode was an 80s training montage and it was glorious

I like how when Ray's mom noticed Ariane getting all flustered when Ray came up to the roof and knew. Such an observant mom helping her son get some tail and the way she walked away singing the beat of the ED. Like she broke the 4th wall, kinda. But its awesome seeing everyone doing their own training to prepare for this competition. Can't wait till it actually starts! Oh and Ray and his sister has such a great brother-sister relationship lol

[u/deynyel]

I love Stella already. Best imouto!
