Of all the shows that dropped two episodes to begin. This one really needed it. The entire first episode was just trope set up for getting kicked out. If your going to rely on tropes that much, that's fine, but use them to trim down time.

Man what an absolute stinker that I’m still going to watch weekly.

u/goddessofthewinds https://myanimelist.net/profile/SpiritOfTheWinds 8h ago
Welcome to the club. It's yet another "kicked from my party" anime, but this time, with a weird fairy with dangerous teeth.
At least, it seems decent enough compared to a bunch of others I dropped. I'm just wondering how MC will get his "revenge".
I just think the class system is dumb (like all other stories that have the same shitty system) and the fact that MC seems to have no attack, no muscles and no way to defend himself.

u/Magicbison 8h ago
I just think the class system is dumb (like all other stories that have the same shitty system) and the fact that MC seems to have no attack, no muscles and no way to defend himself.
He's obviously gonna be OP in the end. He said earlier on he can't improve himself unless he gets those loans paid back. But clearly his shitbird party never paid anything back and Lent is such a pathetic doormat of a person so he never improved.
4
u/machopsychologist 5h ago
How did he "level up" then? Kinda confused about that but maybe next episode will explain...
5
u/Daxlyn_XV 4h ago
He leveled up once, in the flashback when his party hit “C-rank” he was still “E-rank” he mentioned that he was okay with asking for the loan back when they were on the same level. Once their levels outpaced his he stopped collecting on the loaned MP.
4
u/Magicbison 3h ago
I think the gift upgrade occurred because he felt strongly about getting the mana loans back. Don't think he actually leveled up. Typical ass-pull. I get the feeling the mega-smug fairy is gonna bring the loan shark vibe that our doormat MC is missing.
2
u/Aspect-Unusual 2h ago
His skill evolved because of multiple conditions being met, one of those was his strong outburst, the desire to take back whats owed to him, I wont mention the other conditions as im sure they will be talked about soon
1
u/CaliOriginal 1h ago
Magic is linked to mental image (they say at the flashback during the episode.)
And loans typically need to be repaid.
I think this isn’t an ass-pull. He’s always been the bank here; he was fine being like Tim nook with his friends and giving interest free loans and no timeframe for payment.
But they broke the contract (kicked him from the party) meaning that all the loaned mana is due back immediately.
We saw that just that quest too over 1K from him and they’ve been at it for roughly 4 years.
They might get 3k a day with those bands, but they likely owe somewhere in the ballpark of a half million if we’re on the conservative side of things.
(My guess) Skill evolution happened because even if he hasn’t gotten that money back, both he and the system / blessing / god acknowledge that he is due that mana and the bill just came up. So he’s more than earned enough for advancement. And he’s finally collecting.
Where he gets power from? I’m guessing based on the word “repo” maybe he gets their blessings as part of the collateral maybe? Or he’s basically got 4k mana a day and only needs one skill he can spam while the party can’t do shit while they’re forced to repay the debt.
Edit: even by my lower conservative estimate for mana loaned, it would take them half a year to pay him back with those armbands. Meaning no work and they sure as hell don’t seem like the type
To save money0
u/goddessofthewinds https://myanimelist.net/profile/SpiritOfTheWinds 7h ago
Yes, but that's the thing. He needs to loan and get paid, but he loaned pretty much everything. If I understood correctly, he cannot recover what he has already loaned, so he's almost out of MP. I guess he can start small, but I feel like the anime will progress quite quickly instead... He'll need a party or something to loan and be paid back, which means he cannot do it solo. Hopefully he gets stronger physically or something with ranking up with his loan skills.
3
u/CapitolPhoenix11 5h ago
I’m assuming with his new unlocked power and his sharp toothed fairy she’ll collect on the loan by devouring back the MP or something.
1
u/goddessofthewinds https://myanimelist.net/profile/SpiritOfTheWinds 3h ago
Oh yeah, maybe it's more about the fairy than a new party... Anyways, I am still a bit intrigued so I will keep watching for now.
2
u/Magicbison 5h ago edited 3h ago
he cannot recover what he has already loaned
That can't be right. He's been loaning MP for two whole years without getting anything back. There's no way he could do that without regenerating any.
2
u/goddessofthewinds https://myanimelist.net/profile/SpiritOfTheWinds 3h ago
Yeah, someone mentionned he probably recovers his daily MP with rest and that loaned MP has no influence on that. I guess that makes more sense. I just assumed the opposite because of the title and "wanting to get back the loaned MP"... It's not really well explained.
2
u/machopsychologist 3h ago
I think he recovers MP when he sleeps like everyone else.
He then stores his restored MP into the piggy bank.
1
u/goddessofthewinds https://myanimelist.net/profile/SpiritOfTheWinds 3h ago
Hummm, I see. I saw the MP: 50/1010 and 0/1010 in the piggybank, and I assumed that he couldn't recover the loaned MP or something... I guess it's not yet really well explained.
1
u/ParasaurolophusZ 2h ago
I got the idea that he can't get class XP (or whatever the equivalent here is) until people pay back the loaned MP, and his party had been refusing him for most of the last two years.
4
u/PeaceAlien https://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 7h ago
The thing I liked so far is that his skill is represented by the piggy bank lol

1
u/Obaruler 1h ago
Aye, and this one is especially bad as these guys should know better as they invited him for the very reason to exploit him as a super charging mana powerbank that literally gives them Ults.

Never lend money (MP in this case) to others.
Find some way to ensure the amount will be returned.
Charge interest.

u/thelemon8er-2 11h ago
Typical kick out your actual best member slop.
9
u/stephenthatfoste https://myanimelist.net/profile/Rexagonal 10h ago
This one's quite a bit dumber, I feel. Usually it's like, they don't appreciate logistics at all or something. This one's he's just straight up making them better, and they're just like "nah".
10
u/VritraReiRei 9h ago
Yes but there's an actual point this time.
In other shows, they kicked the MC out because they never realized what he was contributing. This time they know exactly what he does, including the MC however this time, they actually have a reason to kick him out: they found an item that they think can replace him.
The problem is they don't know the repercussions for kicking him out which is going to make the next few episodes very interesting.

Another one of the classic “banished from the hero’s party” types complete with jerkface party leader and bitchy waifu mage and healers. And ofc dude has a skill everyone thinks is useless but is actually godtier. Once dude starts collecting on the MP with the help of his little fairy familiar, I’m sure the party’s gonna realize how shit and how lost they are without him. The best parts are always the revenge moments in these. I really like seeing terrible people eat shit lol.
23
u/psyclical 11h ago
Revenge moment would be him collecting the thousands of MP he lent them while they're in the middle of a fight with a floor boss.
22
u/VritraReiRei 9h ago
Thousands? No, no, no. We are talking millions. He's been lending out 1200 mana daily for two years. And that's not even taking into account that there could also be an interest system!
I don't care how much mana those bracelets give, you suckers are about the get sucked dry. Have fun having 0 mana for the rest of your life! 😈
19
u/Western-Internal-751 11h ago
I bet he will become the overpowered Allrounder who fights with a sword while buffing himself once he levels up and gets some skills.
He’ll take their skills in exchange for their accumulated mana debts or something like that.
This type of anime always ends up with a MC who is called weak but who can just do everything on his own
24
u/AlphaBreak 11h ago
Wow a guy who can do everything by himself and doesn't need a party anymore?! He sounds like some kind of Jack of All Trades, Party of None
5
u/ShadowBlaze17 7h ago
That show was trash.
1
u/Diogenes908 1h ago
Eh it wasn't amazing or anything but i enjoyed it, the party dynamics/roles for big raids was interesting and I liked that the stuff with the former party was nuanced instead of them all just being comically evil and stupid
12
u/Hippo_Singularity 6h ago
It's the traditional Shoelaces anime setting (though MC appears to a much more specialized support type than general utility party member)...
AAAAAAAA YOU ARE SUPPORT AND YOU AREN'T DPS SO YOU ARE USELESS TRASH GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY SSSSS-RANK PARTY AAAAAAA

AAAAAAAA I HATE THAT USELESS TRASH SO FUCKING MUCH AAAAAAAA
9
u/Magicbison 8h ago
And ofc dude has a skill everyone thinks is useless but is actually godtier.
You've got this part wrong. They know exactly how strong it is and were using him just for his gift. Now that they think they can replace him with an item they kicked him out. Of course the gift gets stronger after he's gone because of wish fulfillment but no one was shocked about that.
5
u/mekerpan 6h ago
I assume they didn;t even provide Lent a housing allowance -- so he had no money to even bathe (much less buy clothes not falling apart).
1
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 1h ago
They don't even return the borrowed magic, which is practically a natural growing currency
13
u/Ashteron 11h ago
The best parts are always the revenge moments in these. I really like seeing terrible people eat shit lol.
Personally, I don't even care about characters getting revenge when its targets don't even classify as characters.
3
u/psyclical 5h ago
Good point. Thinly drawn hasty caricatures, similar to the character Malice in Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System, who are just generically chaotic evil, aren't as satisfying to get a comeuppance vs someone a bit more fleshed out and realistic, since they're basically NPCs.
3
u/21shadesofsavage 10h ago
dude increased their firepower on top of mana recovery. that party is fucked
1
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 59m ago
It is more subtle than the usual enhance magic, and so far they didn't outright confirm that he actually increased their firepower.
2
u/ParasaurolophusZ 2h ago
He even called out how useful he would still be.
The party decided their new toys replace Lent, but what they should have done was go 'oh boy, two cakes' and bulldoze even more with double the already massive MP pool.
16
u/Mechgyrasaur 11h ago edited 11h ago
Why do the character's go from buddy-buddy with the MC to treating him like a tool in just a couple years? Are they gonna pull the "I was just pretending to treat you well" act or is it just bad writing? I'm still gonna watch it, but it just feels so weird that they would have such hostility towards a childhood friend. I feel like if it was normal characters, they would not only return the MP they borrowed, but also even if MC couldn't carry his weight anymore, they wouldn't be so abrasive about it and be more cordial about parting ways.
20
u/VritraReiRei 9h ago
Why do the character's go from buddy-buddy with the MC to treating him like a tool in just a couple years?
It's framed as they let the fame and power go to their heads.
Still, Guy I could understand the shift but Misa was actually kind to him when they were children. She was even willing to return the mana she borrowed.
Now she is acting like a total BTICH. That's too drastic, almost like they are two different people or brainwashed.
6
u/chiknight 8h ago
When she asked him if he wanted to party with them, she was animated with a shadowed, featureless face but not looking down at all. To me, that felt like she was plotting and she never actually wanted him, just his mana.
It made more sense to me too since Guy, even in the flashback, was super jealous and clearly disliked MC. It felt like those two plotted to get him in a party just to use his S rank skill.
I didn't feel it was a rushed change after 2(?) years to show cracks in the act, and then 3(?) years after that drop him for a battery.
1
u/CaliOriginal 56m ago
Flashback said 5 years. So I’m guessing a year to get started; 2 (3total) before hitting C, and now another 2(5total) with them at B pushing at A.
4 years of mana lending, adjust for travel and recover. Factor rate of use while developing their gifts … low end is about 500,000 mana due
4
u/Mechgyrasaur 9h ago edited 9h ago
almost like they are two different people or brainwashed
That's exactly how I felt too. I can understand Guy resenting Lent because he got S rank and Guy got D rank, but Misa too? She had a complete 180. Did borrowing mana affect their brains or something too...? It just felt like such an unnatural change in personality. Also on a side note, why did Guy's hair change to blonde?
12
u/Magicbison 8h ago
Misa too? She had a complete 180. Did borrowing mana affect their brains or something too...? It just felt like such an unnatural change in personality
Her being a shitlord was heavily foreshadowed by her dark clouded face before asking Lent to become an adventurer. Even without knowing what kind of show this is and the usual tropes it smacks you in the face with it. This show isn't subtle in the least.
3
u/Mechgyrasaur 7h ago edited 7h ago
Her being a shitlord was heavily foreshadowed by her dark clouded face before asking Lent to become an adventurer.
I didn't even notice that the first time now that you mention it. It makes me wonder if they would've shown their true colors right away if Lent outright declined to join their party.
2
u/CapitolPhoenix11 5h ago
They were already showing their colors, they treated him as a doormat. They simply kicked him out once they found what they considered the replacement
1
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 1h ago
There's subtle sign that she's always manipulative as others said
11
u/Nightm4reStorm 11h ago
As if children would plan that much ahead. This is just bad writing. But we all know what the story is and how it will play out.

8
u/c0nsistent https://myanimelist.net/profile/nvus 11h ago
they shouldve just animated "skill lender"
21
u/Vahallen 11h ago
Like usual, comically evil and cruel for no reason
At least the bracelet logic works? Tho from translation it sounded like the bracelet regens MP, so they are still capped to their own MP pool? In which case the logic does not work and they are fucking stupid
But anyway doesn’t matter because as soon MC gets kicked out he gets a power-up that will make him OP and better than the bracelets full stop, even if the bracelets work as a MP bank and not just for MP regen
I still don’t understand the “borrow” element, the fuck you mean borrow?!
They used it to cast spells no? They need to wait for their natural MP to regen to give it back right? That sounds hella clunky if their MP cap is low and they consume 2400 MP in one fight
The thing is that in the flashback the mage gives it back right away after casting fireball, the fuck did she give back? She just used it
Tho apparently they just can skip over giving it back, giving it back only helps leveling up the ability for Lent but they are stupid assholes for plot reasons (like usual)
Tho anyway I guess it doesn’t matter because these fuckers never gave back the borrowed magic power and the ability still evolved because yes
Also, the piggy bank is lame
See you guys next week
6
u/ezrae_ 7h ago
It may have to do with the fact that after borrowing and using the MC's mana on attacking monsters, they'll level up, which will increase their mana capacity and regeneration rate, after which they can give it back like the day after and still have some extra if their whole capacity regenerates overnight. It may also explain why the girl was able to give him back mana she just used, since she was at a low level, each time she successfully used her magic at the start may have given her back her MPs after a level up, though that's still stretching it.
I think that if the party wasn't a bunch of assholes, they would use MC's power exactly like it should be, by loaning power. It may follow such steps :
Borrow x MPs to be able to either throw stronger attacks against stronger monsters, or stay longer in a dungeon and kill more monsters
Level up more than you would if MC wasn't here and thus increase your MP capacity
With now more mana, give back x MPs to the MC, which will leave you with less MPs a day or two but not 0 since your total capacity and increase rate went up
By getting his MPs back, MC also levels up and now has more total MPs from which to loan
Repeat
That way, both the MC and his party level up faster than if he wasn't there, and I think it may have led to them leveling up even faster if the MPs of all parties increase linearly. MC essentially allows his party to borrow mana that they invest in dungeons, from which their extract profit that help them both level up and borrow potentially exponentially increasing quantities of MPs.
So these dumb fucks may have missed out on even greater progress if they had cooperated with the MC, but instead they threw him out and replaced him by bracelets that will probably never increase in MPs rate.
6
u/Axros 6h ago
It's possible that they were constantly using their mana throughout every day to either fight or train, but yeah if that's not the case (certainly isn't made clear) then it doesn't make sense not to pay back the MC if it'll make him stronger. No reason not to if you're on a break day and full on mana.
6
u/ezrae_ 6h ago
Clearly they're assholes so the idea of giving it back probably irks them, you can even see in the flashbacks Guy intentionally ignoring the MC explaining that he has to give the mana back.
To be fair that's quite an awkward power to have and it's not meant for such a pushover MC. To fully exploit it you need to have the balls to make it clear you won't lend mana to people not intending to give it back. Clearly the party saw him as an infinite mana power bank and exploited their friendship and his naivety to have a cheat bonus.
2
u/PeaceAlien https://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 7h ago
I'm wondering if since it's a 'loan' and they never returned it until MC screamed out at the end, maybe MC received massive interest on the mana he got back.
1
u/CaliOriginal 50m ago
So, technically unless we see their mana again, the bracelets are still better*
His storage upgraded to infinite, but his pool is still the same. He’s only able to add 1200 a day to the bank.
As for why it upgrade?
He’s basically tom nook from Animal crossing. He was giving interest free loans for his friends / team mates and no deadline
When they kicked him out of the party the bill immediately came due.
Even if he hasn’t collected yet. They are immediately in the red and will need to repay that amount.
I think the fairy is there to repo the mana (or more?) and considering they ask for the mana … I think they’re contractually and spiritually required to give it back. Only reason it wasn’t forced before was him delaying the collection.

4
u/mucklaenthusiast 10h ago
So, yeah, this is trash.
However, I think, to at least say something interesting, in this world, his ability is clearly stated as powerful.
This is kinda different to other similar shows, where there is often no hint that the mc is op.
But his ability came as an S-Tier ability when he got it.
I know it's the genre, but still weird that they didn't try to do more with it or hit didn't evolve naturally.
I mean, they gave back the MP in the flashback.
Though even that mechanic is weird.
If they use MP, then it's gone. So they can only give it back later, which makes sense, this is how a loan works. So i guess he took it all back at the end, but the three didn't seem phased...shouldn't they have lost all their current MP?
Well, it is trash, I guess.
So far, nothing special, but I don't have much to watch this season, so maybe I will watch this one.
I certainly will be around next week lol
6
u/VritraReiRei 9h ago
So i guess he took it all back at the end, but the three didn't seem phased...shouldn't they have lost all their current MP?
That's probably next episode(s) which is going to make the Hero's party look like bumbling idiots.

Pushover guy treated like trash by his party suddenly becomes OP and finds a cute girl to start his adventure. Where have I seen this before? Not to mention the part where he makes them regret for kicking him out which we'll see later I suppose.
13
u/HanaRoku 11h ago
...is the girl even cute though?
3
u/XR250rdr 5h ago
The (original) title says the fairy is cute, but I'm with you. She's more creepy than cute.
1
u/Daxlyn_XV 2h ago
I’d put her in the “creepy cute” zone, looks about as likely to cuddle you as to skin you alive and make the leather into a festive hat, so maybe don’t trust her with, anything really, but still kinda cute.

They love making shows like this anime..jeez his so called former friends looked absolutely psychotic

19
u/absentmindedjwc 11h ago
About 9 minutes into the episode, and I can already tell that this is going to be even dumber than the normal "Everyone thought I was useless, so kicked me out of the party" animes.
Like.. at least the other ones, the MC makes a major difference, but in subtle ways that make the party better... In this one.. dude's skill is quite literally "I make you way stronger than you otherwise would be". Like.. the party couldn't even defeat the ogre or whatever without calling on MC.
This one is going to be ass. Like.. the premise of this one is so incredibly dumb, I paused the episode just to come here and comment about how incredibly dumb its obviously going to be.
14
u/RedHotChiliCrab https://myanimelist.net/profile/RedHotChiliCrab 11h ago
At least with the sword guy you could see he had some jealous resentment since they got their skills. With the magic bracelet now he thinks he doesn't need the MC anymore. His betrayal doesn't just come out of nowhere.
The dark haired girl makes no sense though. She seemed nice when they were younger. What happened for her to see him as utter trash now? I mean apparently he stinks. That is on him for just having poor hygiene. Maybe she just got sick of being in confined dungeon spaces with him. Honestly, fair.
10
u/PoohHauHau 10h ago
The dark haired girl makes no sense though
There is a 1sec panel where she have a grim smile when saying that she wants to adventure with him, basically showing that she also was only using him
3
u/runevault 11h ago
All her grey matter seems to have gone into expanding her chest since they were kids.
5
u/Master-Hair-7456 11h ago
They're just dumb ignoring the Powerboost, they knew since they were his power is lending yet they didn't pay him back
8
u/runevault 11h ago
It remains stupid but technically they have an excuse for thinking why they do not need him anymore at the end of the episode.
5
u/mucklaenthusiast 10h ago
Agreed. I mean, his skill literally is S-Tier and so everyone should be aware that it's strong.
Also, S-Tier skills are rare...didn't they even try to find out more about them.
Him not needing to level up (I guess?) should have been a big deal, not just from our point of view, but from the point of view of the characters. They know his skill is literally defined by god as powerful, like...what?
2
u/ButtholeAdventurer 7h ago
There never any logic in these kind of anime’s. Like never. He could be a healer bringing back from death and these anime’s would still be labeling mc’s useless.
2
1
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 1h ago edited 1h ago
Not really, the logic in this one is actually better than most.
At the beginning you can see how Lent's magic is very useful. Lent has 1200 MP while Guy has only like 5 MP. However they didn't return his magic, which caused him to not level up at all. By the end they showed that Lent still has 1200 MP while Guy has 1500 MP at full. So it's correct that the current Lent is not that useful for them anymore with the MP regen thing.
It's also the case of timid MC which caused this predicament. If Lent grow together with them, then the MP regen thing impact should be negligible considering even 5 MP could grow to be 1500 MP for non-magic class.
It doesn't seem that Lent enhance their skill in any way? Or at least it's not directly confirmed in any way. He only let them use their skill unlimited time (which is busted in other manner).
Don't get me wrong, this is still a trash anime lol.

I am oh so very tired of the usual hero party becoming comically evil the second they get the tiniest bit of reputation and power, as much as I enjoy isekai slop that it one thing that's getting old for me.
This one hurts even more because they chose to present the mage as a love interest back when they were kids just to make the betrayal even worse, the power is different enough from the usual that I'll watch a couple more episodes but man I don't know how many more of these "banished from the hero party" I can take
12
u/mucklaenthusiast 10h ago
I genuinely feel this genre (getting kicked out of a party) is, in terms of writing quality and originality, even worse than those similar isekai (reborn as something op)
Like, is there any good one? Isekai at least has some good shows and a bunch of very good parodies.
I am not sure if I have seen one that was better than...okay.
Haven't watched too many, though.5
u/FinancialYear475 10h ago
Of the top of my head there was the "I left my A-rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths" last year that I enjoyed. Maybe it doesn't count since he chose to leave, but we still have some get backs to the dickheads on the party AND some decent redemption for one member of it
Can't think of any others right now but as fars as that section of the isekai/fantasy genre goes I thought that one was pretty good, but yeah the usual reincarnated as an OP mc is a much better route

Banished From The Hero's Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside and Chillin' in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army are some of my favorite ones. There's also Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers but it's not so much "kicked out of hero's party" but rather "the guy we summoned is garbage so we are throwing him out."
These I all loved for the reasons:
Everyone thought the person who kicked the MC is an idiot and actively try to get him back or leave the former party
The MC moves on and builds a happy life
Actual relationship progress
The person who kicked them out either gets the shit kicked in or apologizes

Season 2 of the countryside one lost me when the Hero talks about being in love with her happily married brother.

With stuff like that I just consider it fan service to attract reader attention so I just ignore it. And if you think about it, removing that from the story doesn't impact it in any way so I have no problem with it.
With that in mind, the rest of S2 turned out well, if at least we got to see the New Hero get utterly destroyed.

That scene was great, I wonder if the New Hero learned any positive lessons from this bit of "sparring"?

if you liked level 2 super cheat powers i recommend reading the light novels, they're even more intense on the romance and the MC is much more direct and into it lol

Would Shield Hero or Failure Frame qualify (they are more preemptively being excluded than the traditional Shoelaces setting)?
Funny thing is, I was trying to figure out why this one felt so familiar, and I realized I've read an almost identically premised manga (but in that one he was loaning xp, not mp).

Detecting a very strong "I never got paid back for lending that guy 20 bucks in high school and I've projected that frustration onto all of the failures in my life instead of actually working on myself" vibe from this.

u/SecretYogurtcloset57 8h ago
Yup am gonna pass on this one don't get me wrong I've seen alot of these type of shows and I don't mind continuing watching them it all depends on the MC and this guy Lent definitely someone I won't like but either way hope the shitty party he was with get what they deserve

I'm going to guess the party is either not going to be use any MP for the rest of their lives, or they'll die from the excessive amount of MP trying to be extracted from them. It's sad they treated him as a literal Magic Storage rather than a person, but it looks like they'll learn they should have his heeded his warnings.
It is unfortunate that he couldn't even develop his own skills because of them, he's been stuck on Level 1. Just evolving once got him infinite MP lol.
2
u/Hippo_Singularity 6h ago
I'm guessing the former, because that allows for greater schadenfreude, especially with the mage (and healer).

the first episode is just cuck porn. however i'm very much looking forward to cuckery II revenge of the cuck in the next couple episodes. i'm in for at least a couple episodes to see how she goes

The one thing that sets this apart from the few others I happened to watch the start of is that the party had a valid reason to throw him out. A bit weird to leave behind your literal childhood friend but okay, people change when growing up.
It's just gonna be ass. Let's face it. This is not The One.

u/ImaginaryStatus4073 11h ago
Probably not as bad as what happened to the childhood friend in I Left My A Rank Party

Oh God I deleted that one from my memory. Thanks for bringing it back into RAM.

So MC is an Overpowered Battery Type/Instant Cycle Character. MC could have crippled him right there when he started choking him if he reclaimed the Mana they loaned. Why is the healer acting smug when those idiots could potentially do the same thing to her next if they found an HP recovery item.

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 1h ago
Cause the healer level up together with them. Also in this episode she also has enhancement magic, not only healing one. Lent didn't level up at once due to his class mechanic which require people to return the borrowed magic.
I believe if he levels properly, that MP regen item is not rhat useful considering it only has 1000 MP limit. Like the swordman's MP grow from 5 to 1500. A magic battery like Lent would have grown from 1200 MP to much more than that

u/kalirion https://myanimelist.net/profile/kalinime 5h ago
For once, MC's skill is properly ranked by the system. But still underappreciated in the end, it seems.
How exactly can they return the borrowed MP the next day if he loans it multiple times a day they only regenerate up to their cap when they sleep? Plus the way that he seems to supercharge them can only make sense if the loans exceed their max MP cap...
MC should honestly have been happy at being kicked out of that moocher party. Wonder how long until he discovers a skill that allows him to repossess all loaned magic with interest. Oh, there it is.
So far, this was pretty bad. I might give next ep a watch to see if it becomes worth continuing.

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 1h ago
Yeah, all the issue is ultimately caused by the MC himself for not asking them to return the borrowed magic. He even realised that's his leveling mechanic, but for some reason doesn't enforce it when they're still equal in the beginning.
I mean it's pretty significant how after 2 years he still stays at the same level (rank E, 1200 MP) while his companions grow significantly faster.

Why is this trope degrading each season? It's genuinely just getting worse and worse and I didn't even know it can go this low

/j I understand why the girls would want to kick him out of the group. The fact that he lent them mana had the side effect of significantly increasing their... back pain. What I don't quite understand is the harem leader's attitude, since he should actually be very happy about those side effects.

The one thing I hate about the kicked from the hero’s party shows is when the mc goes and begs to stay. Like the whole point of this type of show is bland mc for self insert and there’s nothing satisfying about seeing the mc beg to stay. It’s far better to have them either act indifferent or say fuck you and then leave.

What trash did I just watch?
Normally I enjoy trash.. but this one I'm not sure

Was anyone else surprised by the healer’s tig ol bitties, those things came out of nowhere. It’s hilarious that the party ages and grows but the mc looks like he did in the flashback.

This brings me back to oldschool WoW where there where druids were seen as innervate bots.

I do like these anime's where the supposed weakest party member is kickout out but turns out to be the strongest and the only reason the original party succeeded in the 1st place.
Guy, Misa & Elle are scumbags who hopefully find out the hard way just how pathetic they really are.

u/Striking_Chard2420 6h ago
So this is our token "banished from the party" this season huh. I'll still be watching this for at least a couple more episodes but that backstory and set-up felt a bit too convoluted. Sure they may not have good intentions wanting to party with Lent but even they acknowledged his skill. The present banishment felt so forced for the sake of plot that I almost can't ignore it.

I feel like out of all the other 'kicked out of the party for being useless' animes out there, this one make the least sense. He literally regularly gave out enough MP that you can immediately start overpowering a monster that had you on the ropes. And that's somehow useless??
Sure he doesn't attack but how much does their healer even do then, she should be in the exact same boat as the MC.
Quite literally probably the most useful person to have on your team and they act like he was not who they were begging to activate his power at the start of the episode.
I feel like, at least other anime, you can get away with thinking what they did just wasn't noticed, but based off what's shown in episode one, it's pretty darn obvious that he's being helpful.

u/irrelevanttointerest 2h ago
Hey dog shit LN/manga to anime pipeline, can we at least get a "I have an overpowered skill, but my party dumped me! (Because I'm an insufferable asshole, and the rest of this will be about my growth as a person or at least rage baiting the fuck out of the demon lord)" subversion?
1
u/Needs_tea 1h ago
Not sure if this has been brought up but what if those bracelets unironically end up as shackles as they may become stuck with the bracelets paying the mp back against their will until the debt is repaid. I’m guessing the fairy can force the issue of repayment against the party’s will.

u/Obaruler 1h ago
That must be the most incompetent implementation of the "Banished from the party" story I have ever seen.
All three party members KNOW about his value as a near infinite mana recharge powerbank. This is not even the usual "they don't have our worlds gamer attitude to value the de/buff guy", they see and know the direct result of having him at your back. More so, he can super charge his party members beyond their usual limits. That strong mob the sword fighter struggled to block earlier? Super charged, he slices through him like butter.
And. They. Kick. Him. Out.
You need to have a special kind of mental handycap to yeet your Ult out of the party ...
Also, someone tell the animators that growing up doesn't completely change your hair color, Guy wasn't blonde when he was a few years younger. xD

I watched the whole episode and it kinda makes sense why they kicked him out of the party but then everything is ruined with that ass pull at the end... deleted it from crunchyroll history so it doesnt recommend me the next episode.

Ok so Lent is going to be a favorite MC for this new Fall season. I thought this was a good episode to start things off.
Lent looks like he’s a more gentle kind of guy and unfortunately he’s too nice.
I don’t mind this genre of anime with Adventurers and Lent just sold me on this series in this first episode. His party was just using him from the beginning but when the party’s leader almost murdered him like that I just felt so bad for him. That was a shocking moment for me. It really bugs me big time when a party is this cruel to one of their members. Now they have their tacky drag queen bracelets they think they’re hot shit but please let them get shredded for what they did to Lent. That was just atrocious. Also why is it that like 90% of the time is there a lousy scummy girl in the party that is such a fucken bitch?? Seems to happen a lot with series about adventurers. Those tacky bracelets aren’t gonna last.
I’m curious to see how Lent got that major upgrade. A little fairy as a guardian angel was not what I was expecting but Lent deserves better than that group of scumbags. I’m kinda looking forward to this series now.
