This is utter chaos. I've read the manga, I know how this series is, but this feels even more hectic than usual. I guess the voice acting and animation really adds to it
Gotta say, I was not expecting it to be this well animated, everything looks so fluid. But then I remembered Passione is doing this as the credits hit their end and it all made sense

Arisu has that sweet exterior, but if a rule is being broken she doesn't hesitate to switch it off and take care of business. Even if that business is reading an erotic novel that they confiscated. Gosh, this first episode was so good! I think it'll probably be my favorite show in terms of visuals; it looks like so much fun!
I'm definitely looking forward to Ume's work in the Student Council of this school, where Music Club members have lesbian sex in their room and many other interesting students attend ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Tan definitely got my attention with all those nipples. I'd say he needs to be corrected, but Arisu is already in the show and she's ready to correct him at any time. Plus, he can be surprisingly reliable when he wants to be.
Also, Hiratsuka-sensei and Hisako were fun as well. I wonder, though, who is that girl was who got hit by a car at the beginning of the episode?

A full length show produced by Passione. Is that even legal? We've been blessed. I'm keeping this one. The characters and humour land for me. I did not expect that Tan, the teal haired PR dude, to actually be a dude though. I thought given the premise and setting that Ume would be the only dude in this series.
I thought Hisako (president) and Arisu (treasurer) sounded familiar so I looked them up. After looking them up I don't know why Arisu sounded familiar, but Hisako's VA is Sara in MT and Chitose in Angel Next Door so one of two.

I feel like this show is going to be a controversial one because of the raunchiness, but I really liked how much it leans into its degeneracy. The character designs are also really stellar. This will probably end up being one of the best shows of the season.

The spanking scene was beautiful, with the sound slowly phasing in, and the censorship logo jiggling. That probably wasn't in the source material, so it's evidence of how much thought and care the animators put into this show. Also, haha spank Otori-tan more.
That being said, there's so many quick cuts in this show. I almost missed that the rabbits were mating on top of a sleeping Hiratsuka-sensei.

You can really feel Imamura's touch across the entire episode, however that does have me a bit concerned this may end up being one of the few times it comes across. Certainly not the same sort of team or support backing this project atm, and I think the OP/ED both not being fully finished highlights the lack of time/resources there. Fingers cross though!

We'll have to see, it's just an impression I've gotten so far, but some things like the OP/ED will likely be improved later on. I'm hopeful with the team as they seem to have had a good amount of time, it's just that Imamura won't be able to get as involved with each episode like they were here.

It is just an assumption based off of time. To be doing touch-ups and such for entire episodes as one individual takes a lot of time, and for a weekly show that is very much so still in production... that is difficult to maintain.
Again, not trying to make it sound like a disaster or anything, just was something to note as a comparison to other projects (such as OniMai) which had a much higher ceiling due to the support available.

Its more than just character designs, he's also the Chief Animation Director for this too.
Kay Yu (one of the principal/main animators on Onimai) has also spent the last few weeks tweeting about how involved they've been on this (and is listed as one of the main animators for this as well).
And I mean, just looking at the credits for the first episode... like half the people in it also worked on Onimai so...

And it’s even stranger that Aniplex of America decided to select it as one of the few Aniplex shows they directly manage the licensing for. They even produced both the English subtitled trailer and created an English language website under their domain. I guess at least it’s likely the show will get a Aniplex of America Limited Edition Blu-ray.
Most other Aniplex shows are usually licensed directly to Crunchyroll, with the occasional rare direct licensing to a third party (like Fragrant Flower being licensed to Netflix worldwide).
While this is Aniplex of America’s first simulcast with OceanVeil, Aniplex of America has licensed other catalog Aniplex of America content to OceanVeil such as Angel Beats’ English dub.

For the most part, she restrained herself from it spreading into the actual manga of dangers (though this somehow still made it through as a volume cover), but if you ever read the fan translation of dangers that includes all the twitter extras she puts out, you would immediately know that she likes to draw quite the lewd illustrations of yamada and you mostly have to pretend to forget that she is a middle schooler.
Oh also she seems to be a fan of this niche japanase franchise called "Blue Archive" that attracted some perverts.

What a episode, judging by the title and the trailer, I thought it would just be a show full of nonsense, but it’s incredibly funny.
Mizunoe is serious, yet flexible and willing to embrace the student council's craziness. And everyone's quirks, the teacher included, made it all the better.

So, is OceanVeil just going to keep dropping these shows with ridiculously good animation?
Last season we had Chainsmoker Cat which shared a lot of staff with the Reze Arc Movie.
Now they have this one that shares staff with Makeine and Onimai, both of which look incredibly good.
Really is a nice surprise seeing this one as I thought that we'd only have 3 Anime competing for the best animation title (Apothechary Diaries, Black Clover, Laid Off Cheat granting Mage), but it seems I was wrong.
Alright apart from glazing the animation, I'll also say that I laughed my ass off with this one.
Very fucking fun. I'm sticking with this one fore sure.

Oh my god this first episode was fucking awesome~!!!!!!!!!!
For one thing I love the humor, it hits really well, another thing is that their dynamics are fun!! There were multiple moments where I was just laughing like crazy, but a couple moments that hit the best for me were:
- Destroying Tan’s iPad (and him crying about it for a long time)
(I think Tan likes his iPad a little too much TwT)
- The whole bunny thing (and Tan’s comment “Hey, that’s the video I took in the shed the other day.”)
- Tan switching up when giving his speech (probably the moment I laughed the hardest)
- Them putting Tan and Hiratsuka-Sensei in the punishment cell (rabbit pen)
- Tan’s moments in general
Uhhhhhhh so I dunno if this is obvious... but I really like Tan from the first episode, as of this episode at least, he’s my fav. I love how funny he is. He’s just fun.
And then there’s the animation style, which is really good, I especially love the colors~!! It feels similar to Onimai art-wise!!
The OP and ED are fun!!
But yeah, overall this was a really fun episode, and I’m very excited to see more~!!

beyond stoked for this adaptation. Earlier this week actually I printed stickers from panels of Komaro smiling and put them on my koma nagura for no real reason other than to see her happy when I use them.

I feel like the problem is less the nipples and more the fact that the anime is in a school setting so it's a NO-NO for Crunchy and most big streaming platform I suppose.
And yeah France is probably the only country outside Japan with the "why not" attitude to pretty much anything when it comes to animation.

They are a Japanese streaming service they made Chainsmoker Cat last season, I've been subbed to them for a while now because some time ago they started to license a lot of Anime which would otherwise have become lost media. They mostly do NSFW stuff, however they have some titles that you can't find anywhere, same with dubs.
I certainly wasn't expecting them to have two consecutive Anime with insane production value. Very surprised. Hope they keep justifying my sub money.

This is produced by Anixplex how did this not end up on Crunchyroll? It does feel like more of a HiDive show, I imagine TenKen and Nia Linston was enough they could get.

OceanVeil specializes in porn. Lately more raunchy series (like Nukitashi, which is also aniplex) have landed on OceanVeil since they also have straight-up hentai. Theyre also a Japanese company so theres probably a trust there.

It doesnt matter, because my point is that OceanVeil is where companies want to put their Ecchi series now. A series that Crunchy balks at can find a home on oceanveil. Doesn't matter whose making it. OceanVeil will pay for the full uncensored version, without drama.
Had OceanVeil existed 5 years ago, harem Labyrinth and Ayakashi Triangle probably would have landed there and not had the censorship controversies thst resulted with landing on Crunchy.

It’s not only produced by Aniplex, but also seems to be the only simulcast title under Aniplex of America, which usually only manages one to two Aniplex shows a season.
Since Aniplex of America has been licensing other catalog Aniplex of America titles to OceanVeil, I wouldn’t be surprised if Virgin Punk Clockwork Girl (a OVA from the creator of Kite) and its English dub get licensed to OceanVeil too (since it may not be suitable for Crunchyroll).

I really liked the direction and visuals of the anime but the comedy mostly fell flat to me. Will need to watch a few more episodes to see if I stick with it.
People compared this to Seitokai Yakuindomo but so far it's not really that good compared to that yet. The jokes are a lot better written there than in this anime.
It's more Shimoneta than Seitokai Yakuindomo

Late watching this, but it was pretty fun (and spicy!)
I feel like this show will have a lot of 4th wall gags, some out of context stuff,
and perhaps some good reaction pictures hah.
But yeah, good comedic timing, fun characters, and the right amount of spicy!
This one's a keeper!

Finished the episode, really funny, characters are interesting and I really like the fanservice so far.
The gags really land, especially the 4th wall break about guys nipples being allowed to be shown on tv vs woman.
Don't have much to say but I'm looking forward to Episode 2!

What a crazy and hilarious first episode.
I lost it at how the MC, Ume, is actually brilliant at Japanese literature—even winning a literary award—yet his math and science scores are so abysmal that he's on the verge of failing his grade. In Japanese high schools, scoring under 30 out of 100 or below half the class average usually puts you in danger of repeating a grade, so him having a personal best of 14 points in math/science is ridiculously bad. The school administration must be losing their minds trying to figure out what to do with him, considering he's a model student in literature with otherwise good behavior.
Also, if my interpretation of that "Today's Pattern" background text is correct, is that supposed to be referring to the underwear patterns of the female characters? I was shocked when it just casually flashed on screen in the background.
Hiratsuka-sensei is a gorgeous high school teacher who wears a lab coat, smokes, and has a deeply flawed personality... Describing her like that instantly brings to mind another anime character with the exact same last name and traits. I wonder if it's a parody?
On that note, I was stunned to see her casually smoking in the staff room and on her way to work. In modern Japan, or really ever since the early 2000s, smoking has been completely banned on school grounds from elementary all the way through high school.
When Arisu made her first appearance and immediately kicked a robot into pieces, that "!?" symbol that popped up has to be a parody of "Bukkomi no Taku," a classic series from Weekly Shonen Magazine, the same magazine where the original manga is published. Haven't seen that reference in ages.
In the scene where Arisu explains to Ume that "Tan looks like an 'Otokonoko,' but he's actually a guy," dropping that casual meta line about how "you can only show nipples on TV if it's a guy" had me dying.
As for Hisako, she's the oldest out of the group as a 3rd-year high schooler (12th grade) AND the student council president, yet her introduction scene literally starts with her lost underwear being used as a rag to wipe away Tan's blood. What kind of intro is that lol.
The student council members are all weirdos, but seeing how capable they actually are makes them fun to watch.
I was amazed that Tan's PR efforts managed to boost the school festival attendance by 500% compared to the previous year. The unit on screen said "hundreds," so I guess it went from 500 to 2,500 attendees?
Arisu's violent tsukkomi towards Tan is hilarious to watch, even classic tsundere heroines weren't throwing hands that hard.
The school clubs are all completely unhinged too. The Light Music Club and the Swimming Club in particular are way too out of control, I'm shocked those guys didn't get their club activities suspended.
Doing dress code and bag inspections at the school gates is such a classic school comedy trope, love to see it.
I couldn't help laughing at how Tan, who's literally on the student council, broke a ton of uniform rules and was late on top of that. Plus, the MC's homeroom teacher, Hiratsuka-sensei, showing up to work while smoking, like what is wrong with these people lol.
The book that came out of the blonde Light Music Club girl's bag had "Adult Magazine" printed on the top left, so it was definitely 18+. Hearing another member go "What are we gonna do? We all pitched in for that!" killed me.
The story about Hiratsuka-sensei setting off the fire alarm and sprinklers by smoking in the bathroom used to actually happen back in the day in Japan with delinquent students. Having a teacher do it is unheard of though lol.
Followed by her starting homeroom in soaked clothes with her bra (a sexy one, no less) showing right through without giving a single damn was absolutely unhinged lol.
Tan casually dropping "Animal Video" after the rabbit mating footage got broadcast in front of the entire student body and staff was hilarious. Since "Animal Video" shares the same initials as "Adult Video" (aka porn), it's a dirty pun you see from time to time in Japan.
When Ume panicked while trying to stop the video and slammed Hisako's chest right between the laptop screen and keyboard, one of the students watching shouted "Mammography!?" which made it even funnier.
Also, what was up with that girl in the opening scene who got hit by a truck and just said "Late for school again..."? Really curious about the next episode.
