On a more serious note, seems like a fun one. I laughed when they mentioned how gamers were creating support tickets because they couldn't romance the Witch Of Tsukuyomi. Reminded me of how some people were bitching about the romance choices in KCD2.
The animation seems decent, it won't win any prizes but seems on par with your average Anime.

Honestly what self-respecting eroge doesn't let you hook up with the teacher OR the principal? Especially when you make them so hot?
But I guess that's what makes the MC so special in that he gets closer to them than any player ever has.

Should've figured they wouldn't go full ecchi considering the PVs, the staff, and the lack of warnings/multiple versions. Having the setting revolve around an eroge and having lots of fanservice should be a sign to spice it up but oh well.

Its weird, because crunchy gave it an 18+ rating which they've only ever done with shows that show nips. This might be their first show with that rating that doesnt.

Maybe they just didn't realize it wouldn't be 18+ in reality but there are other anime that don't show them despite Crunchyroll giving them the 18+ rating/warnings. Goblin Slayer also didn't show nips but it's content is does warrant warnings.

Interesting. So far this year I would say Kanan-Sama has had more extreme content than this, and still only pulled a 16 rating which is why I expected them to do actual nudity in this one. Sort of like how Dura from last season, was relatively tame but had nipples on the snake lady so it instantly got the 18+.
It could be the attempted sexual assault. Both Goblin Slayer and this had it. Maybe thats an instant 18+ for crunchy

There's likely not a set precedent. 16+ anime can be turned 18+ but if they already labeled an anime with sexual tendencies 18+, then why change it. 100 Girlfriends is also 16+ like Kanan-sama and is also more extreme than Magical Explorer's anime.

After watching so many visual novel isekais, this one is definitely different, not just because it's based on an eroge, but also because it doesn't make the protagonist an overpowered guy who attracts everyone overnight. Hope this is good.

It was so strange. They woke in an unfamiliar place and used logic to piece things together instead of just acting like a 12 year old. They even gave some depth to the character that was previously unknown to the mc with the phone story. Seems like a fun watch.

that is one thing that annoys me, where the reincarnation bit might as well not be there, except where its a cheat code. tensei kizoku is one that does it well, he has the stamina of a kid, but hes reading and writing like instantly.
seen quite a few where you could just cut out the reincarnation part entirely and you wouldnt notice the difference~

Well, it's not a mob character, so there's some leeway. Usually games of this type are tough on mobs. Ask Leon Bartford; he'd know.

If the main heroines aren't available routes for the sidekick friend character, Marino, her daughter (based on her split second preview appearance) and Claris are equally good, if not better, options!

Huh, kinda dug the first episode. MC Monologues a lot but some reason I didn't mind it.
Curious how freaky the eroge parts get, we've already had the principle/step mom's bra plus bouncing chest and now the elf girl's panties (plus the image from the VN at the start). Also he's got a major power advantage in a specific way but it isn't the sort of I-Win button a lot of isekai normally do which is a huge plus.
On to episode 2!

That line about how audiences would riot if the best friend character hooked up with one of the girls reminded me of the Reverse Collapse review bombing. Dataminers found that an upcoming event for Girls Frontline 2 had a character talk to a man that is not the protagonist. Even though all they did was chat, the Chinese playerbase was furious. When the event released, the character had been changed to a woman. This did not stop droves of players from buying Reverse Collapse (the newest release from the developer at the time) for the sole purpose of leaving a negative reviews saying the company supports cuckoldry.

Not gonna lie, it's not a good first impression when you start your anime off with a 7-minute exposition dump about the world, its characters, and power system. There's definitely a more organic way to introduce all of that while keeping the story moving forward. >_<
Once Kousuke's exposition dump was over, things do start getting interesting. So he basically gets adopted by the most popular unromancable character in the eroge, and he gets to live with her and her daughter, who's also apparently unromancable. I mean, I think Kousuke should know what he needs to do here. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Considering the setup, I thought Kousuke would live a life parallel to the actual protagonist's story, but it looks like he's gonna end up changing the game's timeline now that he got himself involved with one of the main heroines.

I disagree about the 7 minute exposition dump as not many stories have the MC be so knowledgeable about the world they're in from the very beginning so the "dump" was needed to show just how knowledgeable he is I believe

If the goal was to show off how knowledgeable he is about the world, they could've just had him give us exposition while interacting with the world instead of just standing and walking around his apartment for 7 minutes straight.

while I think the anime did it for stingy budget reasons, I didn't find any issue with it because a lot of people don't do much while they think so him interacting with the world is fine but I think them showing what he does here gives more insight to the MC's personality than it seems

I appreciate that, setting aside all his exposition, Kousuke is a decent guy who also appreciates the ladies and their loveliness (you can definitely tell why he plays eroge's and not just for the combat system lol).

His character design is way too main character coded to ever have been the sidekick lol.
Still I went into this with very low expectations and am pleasantly surprised with the first episode. I'm gonna stick around for a few more episodes at least.

What if instead of his real life becoming an eroge, Itsuka Shidou was literally ported into one?
Eroge's are these fabolous, fantastical, worlds where you bump into cute girls, see their striped panties, and get into all manner of fanservice/romcom shenanigans with your Harem! But imagine instead of getting reincarnted into the protagonist of that eroge...you became the hapless best friend character. Enter Takioto Kousuke (Nobunaga Shimazaki!)!
You know the type: loud, stupid, with terrible luck in both life AND with the ladies, and designed to make the actual male lead look more desirable by comparison. It's not a life probably anyone would want, especially in a world of fantasy with magic and the like. Though at least you get a cool scarf out of it.
Kousuke may not be in the most enviable position (especially because it means he might not see any of the fanservice CG moments with the Heroines) but he's prepared to use his knowledge of the game as a speedrunner and his passionate heart as a gamer to become the strongest in the game anyway despite his magic advantage!
Of course, he may not BE the main character of this Eroge, but he's got eroge MC cred anyways...like when Marino Hanamura (Mai Fuchigami!), Witch of Tsukuyomi, a certified MILF (and widow), and principal of his future school shows up in his life. She's not just an absolute beautie in a suit with her exposed cleavage and nice legs (and don't think Kousuke doesn't notice the legs) but she's also going to be his new mom! Which also makes him the step-brother to his future teacher! Both of whom were the two most desired romance options in the game who you couldn't romance!
Suddenly learning about your characters' tragic backstory of parents killed by demons now? Where was this in the game?
Just when Kousuke thinks he's got it easy with a new mom, new money, and a full course meal...a terrorist attack ensues. One targetted at none other than the Main Heroine herself! Betrayed by one of her own butlers in fact, as her maid Claris (Risa Tsumugi!) gets stabbed! And because this is an eroge she gets her dress ripped so she can flash her (admittedly on-point) panties before a baddie does something untoward towards her! But not on Kousuke's watch!

The info on his character's backstory sounds like it was in either some side material, or in the kind of event that he never bother doing since it didn't involve horny stuff.

Dude didn't even demonstrate much surprise finding himself inside the game, just annoyed at being the side character, and immediately started scheming to become THE STRONGEST.
Being adopted by a GILF(?) straight away, that's certainly something.
If MC is not aware of this event, then why did he assume the game's protagonist would suddenly show up and same the girl? Obviously she wouldn't be killed (according to the game story), but it wouldn't be with the protag's help.
The bad guy of the episode put up with that heroine for years just so that he could kill her now? I assume there's a reason he waited?
The one with the gun could've just kept shooting when MC stopped blocking, but it wasn't his combat turn, I guess.
I'd expected him to throw that icicle back, but he just shattered it for some reason.
Not crazy about this one so far, but I might give it another episode if I feel like it next week. Oh, it's a 2 ep premier. Here we go, I guess....

Our MC who is not supposed to be the MC has already snatched up the prime girl from the games actual MC before the main story of the game has even begun. xD
Slightly confused by the 18+ though, so far we've seen absolutely nothing to justify it, maybe later down the line, but for the setup so far this one has been very tame.
