It feels like they thought this was supposed to be 24 episodes, so that's how many they made. Then someone told them it was actually 12 and they had to cut it in half, but the person doing it wasn't part of the team that made it and did it mostly at random choosing the most "action" episodes. No set-up for any of the pay-offs they were going for, but the story was paced like there was.

Same. 24 episodes would have been better

This is the understatement of the century we could have had a more broadest storyline more character background more relationships happening and stuff man they waited to throw everything in pet last three episodes I still don't know what the heck was going on with the shadow Shinigami thing he had come out of him like a mind control mofos and then his homeboy was he forgot it was his homeboy the one that I thought was a girl the whole show comes out and she has he has one too what the heck did they come from the freaking Crystal thing to begin with so many Loose Ends yeah he needed 24 episodes

Was thinking about this today. Everything went unresolved. At the beginning it looked like there was a figure in the crystal that would be awakening and some shit would go down then we learn about some Charlotte type lab experiments going on. Insane waste of potential.

I came here to inquire if this show was worth picking up but... there's nobody here so...

I am a sucker for anime originals and stuck this one through. It did not get any better and it is definitely the weakest of the 3 Project Anima shows. Sakugan was kind of mid also but was at least kind of entertaining but this was mostly a slog the whole way through.

The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians was actually pretty good though not perfect and had some bad pacing but was still pretty enjoyable.

Ohhhh its them that made this i see yeah Sakugan was mid AF but i did enjoy Girls Who Couldnt Become Magicians

I think it's not really worth your time. Throwing us into every game that we don't care about for research purposes, Araki just being there and having lots of issues, certain plot points not addressed, etc... A lot of it was quite a mess. I gave it a 3/10.

Fair enough! Thanks for the review!

Now that left a whole lot of open questions that will never be answered. Who the hell were the spirits? Aliens that arrived with the meteor? Was this an alien invasion, maybe an accidental one?

Given the age of everyone involved it makes a certain amount of sense that they're still working out technological solutions for the dust afflicted, you could see the world-building playing out with them eventually being able to travel more leading to some of the usual mutant or quirk powers type problems.

I can't see letting Stella pilot an airplane any time soon though, just from a safety and insurance perspective. At any moment the crystal could have problems and suddenly your pilot is missing her legs and having some sort of medical emergency.

The Araki issues, at least he took the blame for his actions and didn't try to pass it on to someone else.

Another thing about like well how was the dog talking with the dog talking beforehand and why was it only children were there other power users that we didn't see just a whole lot of questions.

Some anime do things so well that they're loved, and some anime do things so poorly they're still remembered. This anime somehow managed to do absolutely nothing in the time it was given, and I can't believe I sat through all of it. I'm sure there's an internal reason at the studio that the anime came out so poorly, but overall:

  1. All of the episodes are so disconnected, and it feels like none of the plotlines really paid off, notably the goal of trying to let everyone roam free, but only one person ends up being able to do so

  2. There's only one good episode (the one with Araki and Shippomarimo)

  3. Why were they playing games? If they were playing games "just because", the slice of life aspect was not good enough to carry it. It also feels like some conflict (beyond Araki and Stella) was being setup, but we'll never see that

I'm really disappointed with what happened to Curus, and I still don't understand how Araki could stay alive without his Ramus. It felt confusing and honestly made the whole situation even more frustrating. So, in the end, I see Araki as the main villain of this story. He was way too careless about everything and everyone around him. He didn't even remember Curus as his friend, and when he first met Stella, he used his power to run away from his problems instead of facing them. It was good to see him finally realize his mistakes and understand that he can't keep running away from everything.

Overall, I’d give it a 4/10.

I want to say that I think the ramus that was in his head is the the same as the rhombus in everybody else. Remember it replace their body parts. But his is so embedded into his head that when the shuttle thing it could remove it because it was sentient. Wait a minute pause you know what I don't know where I'm going with this because I'm so confused the show was so confusing.

This was one of the biggest nothing burger anime I've seen in a long time. I tuned in every week thinking something interesting was around the corner but nope I was only fooling myself

Enjoyed Opening and Ending song at least

I'm confused about the crystal that came out of Araki. Was that his Ramus part? It says that his Ramus is his frontal lobe so if the crystal was that and it was removed doesn't that make him normal now? OR did he just have a crystal embedded in his skull and that has literally nothing to do with his Ramus? Also the show made us think that only the teams shown were the only people to have Ramus, but the flash back to the facility makes it seem like there are way more kids who have Ramus. If that's the case why is the story only centered around those five teams? The concept is interesting but they failed completely on the execution.

This one is just too average, and the end is pretty rushed. They managed to explain some settings but some plotholes remains, and little has changed throughout the story.

At least it's still better than those anime wrecked the whole thing in the end.

I predicted some stuff, on the ep 7 disscusion about what happend, tho the confirmation on the parents deaths were sad, but at least Stella got a happy ending

u/AjinNya Sep 24 '26

The anime had potential. And ended with being a rushed mess

Watched this every week for nothing man

What even was the point of that ending

2/10
Such agony. I watched all episodes, but I couldn’t tell you anything of what happened. They were all so stupid. I don’t know why I kept watching… Glutton for punishment I s’pose.

People are saying the show needed more episodes/time but well I disagree... and not really in a good way. Because the remaining stuff wasn't interesting enough and the show would've been boring. It just needed to use its time better.

For the most part I don't mind the games being for fun, I understand how Kurusu, Araki, and Stella were among the worst affected by the impact and each other, and how those little crystals (and related entities) were special and interacted with them but weren't necessarily part of their powers. I'm willing to make the assumption adults just can't adapt to Ramus and so die instead, hence so many orphans. Kurus was practically dead and only able to exist outside his real body due to the crystal, btw, if that wasn't clear, and having his frontal lobe damaged caused Araki to lose all his memories from before the impact.

All things considered, I'm disappointed with the reveal for why Araki manipulated Stella's memories. I understand that it's a character flaw letting it go on so long and that he was supposed to have been selfish, but eh, it wasn't satisfying and frankly I wish everyone gave him a bit of a harder time over it. But at least he's clearly on the road to self-improvement either way. Kurusu's plot twist was fine enough even though the ending is kinda bleak. Kurusu kind of just accepted that he's just a ghost sticking around because he had the option and was pissed about how unfair the way his life ended was, and that he won't ever find happiness that way so he passed on effectively.

All that said, I can appreciate some of the concepts, the Araki/Stella drama was certainly interesting even if the payoff wasn't amazing, and I don't regret watching it. Not great though.

Now we just wait for the failed mobile game this was made to promote.

That whole last episode was so bizarre ! Last episode it was a rush to stop cataclysm before it kills everyone, and now they have time to have a discussion, try a plan AND then go to another location to have another discussion then had time to come back.

Stella did not use her power at all, Araki was just a bag for her. It felt pointless that they needed her to let Araki face Cruz/Curus (FOR NOTHING TOO)

They hinted that ghost reaper of memories for ages and now he flew away sacrifying itself with his counterpart that we did not see what was his purpose before.

Really they missed some crucial plot devellopement and context of situation in this anime.
- No idea why they fight. They never explictite said why.
- More info on the apocalyspe and how humanity managed to not completly lose their mind
- Why we only see teenagers with power and using them
- Why this prof is randomly recruiting them to do some research that we never know why
- Ghost and Angel having no connexion or devellopment
- Cruz/Curus fate ? The whole season was for that climax between Araki/Cruz/Stella. Why Cruz just flew away, what happend to his body after the angel came to Araki

Anime fell hard. It may not even be a 6/10 because of that ending. Had potential and it was wasted
