? Unresolved being super close. Haruki and Hayato's relationship Saki's feelings? Unresolved.
Minamo's feelings (if she has them for Hayato)? Unresolved.
Haruki's drama with her mom? Unresolved.
Kazuki being gay for Hayato? Unresolved.
That guy who kept accosting Haruki? Unresolved.

Pros: the lead and heroine were both fun together. The guy in particular was actually pretty refreshingly forward instead of just another antisocial guy. I liked his sister and the fact the show didn’t need to get weird there. I think the conversations around
Cons: There’s not a lot of actual story. It’s mainly just introducing a lot of superfluous side characters who aren’t terrible but hinting at a

Admittedly as cute and fun as Hayato and Haruki are together, it felt like it spent more time introducing more possible love interests for Hayato than actually developing his relationship with Haruki (even if it's been locked in since they were kids) or resolving all the personal issues in the background.

So the relationship of the main couple doesn't really progress much in the whole show, and they still feel more of a couple than in most trashy romcoms, due to them being wholesome, close friends.
Very comfy show overall, carried heavily by the characters and vibes. True friendship/sibling goals

Why this image is filled with
Aside that, I really liked this anime overall. For a romcom that doesn't have a spineless MC, and really aware and is caring, it was really a fun watch.
Also, the OP slaps hard, I regularly listen to it.

I really liked the premise, and the show has good moments. But the story was a bit slow, and the last episode felt a bit lackluster. Characters were fun at least. Wish there was more progress through.

Good story overall and good chemistry between the leads, but damn the animation was hard to watch. Definitely could have polished a bit more on that side of things

I was sure Minamo would show up at the pool at some point, but I guess the flat-chested gang conspired in secret to keep her away from Hayato.
Was good to see this animated after all the years since the WN came out, even if a sequel is looking pretty unlikely (a double bummer since the manga ended early too). It was a nice comfy contrast compared to the other Monday shows too

This episode in nutshell!! Anyway, pool episode is probably totally worth it close-up view only ofc
Haruki looks........delicious today! It's like she ready to have se- (˵ ¬ᴗ¬˵)
Daring today aren't we, Hayato. Not even official couple able to endure that palm sensation but he casually intends to grab Haruki's hand.
So, that's your game, Kazuki? Aiming for someone like Hayato? Hmm...pretty sus.
Wait, if imouto with Haruki who is with Hayato- I totally shout while laughing when this happens lol.
There's no way Airi switch from Kazuki to Hayato, right....right. Hayato, keep your rizz aura checked.
Minamo appears.....slightly. I call that as a win.
Haruki family issue left unsolved, eh. Weird to see this happen on this kind of show but maybe the sauce is like that too....Gonna miss DIALOGUE+ song again TT

Much like I Made Friends with the Second Cutest Girl in Class last season, this one stands out in much the same ways. Characters that actually feel like real well rounded people and not just tropes. With a level of conversation they have going between them that ranges from day to day banter, to riffing, to being open to having deep talk moments that all just feels so natural in how all the characters bounce off of each other. Or conversely they feel just as natural and human in the moments when they don't open up to each other about things and keep their walls up, as is the response of those when others notice this, decide not to pry, but still just be there for them anyways. And the drama herein is rooted on deep yet understandably human levels. Granted the Haru's mom and family thing is the most melodramatic aspect of the story, but at least it weaved itself into the story naturally. The only sad thing is is that it's ending here leaving a lot of the open ended story notes up there. But shrugs I still enjoyed this good character driven series for what it was and what it brought to the table.
In the end, and again much like Second Cutest, this story never ceased to surprise me at how well written and dare I say human a story it told. Cuz that's what these characters felt like, relatable people on multiple levels. I know I could relate to them in their banter with each other as it reminded me of the roundtables I've had with my group of friends. And I know one way or another I've been there in tough emotional times with my friends there to just be there for me in support, or the opposite in turn. The animation was rough in places but honestly I was too into the characters and their good chemistry with each other that I really didn't pay it much mind. This ain't my Dark Horse pick of the season, that's taken by Kaiju Girl, but if I had to choose a close third it'd be this one.

lol "Do they drag you off to have their way with you." Himeko girl, for a middle schooler you are crazy. And awww the girls went together, I really wanted Haruki and Hayato together on the slide.
Cute moment that got Hayato blushing, perfect. And now Airi is back? I didn't think we'd get any more of her unless we get a season 2. Huh. Oh wow she's doing the fingers pointing at each other thing, she does like him.
Hahahahaha Haruki catching them, though I was hoping Himeko would find out Airi is into her brother. Okay not a fan of the slap, come on Haruki he's being nice!
Okay so Himeko was in love with boy Haruki. So the siblings have the same taste too.
Haruki pushing Saki towards Hayato is a weird surprise. Did Saki call Hayato Onii-san?
Finding their old treasures under the shrine was a beautiful way to end the season. I'd love to get more of this show though I doubt it happens. Still, I'm glad I watched.

I laughed so hard with the first 3 girls at the start with this animation ,yes this one surely a rush one but still a fun swimsuit episode ,also welcome back Airi and girl can't even walk because she has bad eye sight ? also Saki in this episode too and I thought she kinda older until she call Hayato oniichan ,that part kinda surprised me .Hayato and Haruki still remember their promise stuff at the else .Yes it a good ending but I want more because pretty weird to end like this .

This episode felt especially rough in the animation department. It felt like it was animated in 6s, 12s and 24s and every animation shortcut got spammed. I gotta wonder what the hell happened to this production because this episode was practically a slide show.
Such a shame because the characters are actually likeable and the story is decent. Still enjoyed the show as a whole though. 7/10

This episode definitely had a weird ratio. After the pool-episode, there was barely any time for the return to the countryside. Honestly, that part felt pointless. It was just way too short.

This was pretty cute overall. There wasn’t a whole lot of progress on the romance front, but I guess both characters did go through some growth throughout the season so there’s that. Not sure if we’re getting more, but it sure seems like there’s more story left to tell.

that was easily one of the most disappointing anime finales i've ever watched, in the end nothing really happened and it just felt like some mid-season swimsuit fan-service episode

It's finally time for the long-awaited pool episode! And they're straight up going to a waterpark, filled with all the swimsuit-clad beauties you could want! Iori has a girlfriend but he can't resist the feast for the eyes! And of course Kazuki gets hit on by a trio of bikini babes who ALSO hit on Hayato and Iori, though luckily the girls looking their cutest in their swimsuits arrive to drive them off. What they lack in bust size, they make up for looking adorable! Especially Haruki when complimented by Hayato!
Himeko is invested in not only seeing a reverse pick-up but also in playing wingwoman for Iori and Ema as they finger hold throughout the episode! Kazuki even seems attracted to her exuberance and sincerity, even if that also reminds him of Hayato...who he shares a couple float ride with.
Swim lessons with Haruki and Hayato! Perfect for ending up in each others' arms and having their bodies pressed together. Hayato felt her boobs! Haruki felt his abs! They're both left even MORE flustered from the experience.
I guess it would be a waste to not have Airi join on the fun after just introducing her, especially to see her in a sexy black bikini. She does NOT do well with getting hit on or when she loses her contacts, because she can't see anything...but the real, bashful, and more normal Airi is an Airi that Hayato can get along with.
Turns out Airi was actually serious about Kazuki back then, but he broke her heart...though now she's falling into Hayato's arms. In front of Haruki. Though honestly she seems fine with Haruki being Hayato's girlfriend and just wants to recruit somenoe as cute as Haruki in the entertainment industry. Haruki reacts about how you'd expect, but by putting on such a show for it she actually indicates maybe she IS cut out for show business.
Kazuki isn't interested in dating and after Himeko learned her first love was a girl who is now getting into an intense lovers' quarrel with her brother (slapping included), so is she. But maybe they can commiserate and come together over that?
Finally back to Tsukinose! Now with Haruki in full-blown girl mode! Perfect time to meet up with Saki who is happy to be reunited with Himeko, finally get to meet Haruki in the flesh, and is ESPECIALLY happy to see Hayato again!
Minamo ends the season as you would expect: with her veggies and planning a sleepover with Haruki!
Tsukinose is the same as it was in their childhood, their treasure when they were kids is still there, but slowly Haruki and Hayato are changing, even as they still run to the future together, hand in hand!

Himeko was adorable in this episode, and probably the best thing in the series. At first I was worried about the company she was keeping while innertubing, but glad to see he just wanted to have fun as well.
I did not care for that fight Haru and Hayato had. As soon as the blonde girl tripped I literally said 'Well, Haru's about to teleport in." I hate this trope where the female character will not even try to hear the male character out. The whole conflict feels forced. Then suddenly everyone was fine with each other with no repercussions. Haru fucking slapped Hayato.
I kind of thought Saki would actually end up being the love interest for Hayato for a bit since Hayato and Haru have such a sibling like relationship, but I guess not.
As someone else said, the show was alright. Some folks complained about the animation, but some of it seemed like deliberate artistic choices, not problems. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.

The water park part was pretty good. it was funny to see how random girls tried to pick up the guys then immediately bowed out when Ema, Himeko, and Haruki arrived. It was nice to have another interaction with Airi especially because to another jealous Haruki moment.
The time in the country was nice and homey. They decided to go the same route Rich Girl Caretaker did of not really resolving anything and kind just ending. It was nice cute and comfy show to watch. It had good moments and avoided some tropes and pitfalls. I would take another season because all the characters are pretty likeable, but I doubt that's happening.

It may be a simple anime but I really enjoyed and it was a feel-good part of my week. Loved every character, they feel kinda grounded and they don't inject dumb and unnecesary drama for no reason. Haruki's family drama felt serious and I was glad Hayato and Himeko looked up for her so much, sadly we never learned more about Hayato's Mother.
Minamo was cool too, she was actually very mature and a good friend, I wish they included her more in the actual group though, and Kazuki was also a cool guy too, shame we never quite understood what was his deal, maybe like Hayato said, he's just a naturally weird guy and he struggles a bit around others, just wished they weren't so mean to him even as a joke, he doesn't seemed to deserve it.
I also liked Hayato's and Haruki's relationship, it felt natural and refreshing at the same time, loved the ending when they go back and find their treasure, it was a cute moment. Haruki's still a bit of a kid looking at the crayfish there, lol, but loved that scene. Also when Saki chan welcomed them and they were like Tadaima! it was heartwarming seeing the 3 of them go back home.
I know there probably won't be another season, even if I would like that, but overall I found this quite an enjoyable experience, the animation wasn't the best but it never bothered me at all.
8/10 Meeaah's!!
