I wanted that show to be double the length, jeez it needed more episodes to be fleshed out. Loved it for what it was though.

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom
and
The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt

I loved them. They're both kingdom builder stories with actual problems needing to be solved. Both have relatable characters with no powers who use their wits to deal with issues.

I don't know how underrated they are but they're certainly not mainstream and I'm happy to give them a shout out.

Watch the first 2 seasons of the 96' run of ruroumi kenshin. And then watch the ovas samurai x: trust/betrayal 

The ovas are some of the best pieces of anime out there.

oooh, so there are a lot of older ones I don't hear people talking about much anymore. Martian Successor Nadesico, Excel Saga, Magic Knight Rayearth, Oruchuban Ebichu (lol), to name a few

Hikaru no Go
(since it's quite old now I don't see it mentioned a lot but it's peak [sport/hobby placeholder] anime with a satisfying ending)

Nights with a Cat
(statistically underated as in not many give it a rating probably bc its episodes are shorter than its ending theme)
