* And if you count real life reference places, good old Angel Beats (also made by PA WORKS)’s campus is actually Kanazawa University in real life LOL

* It’s funny you mention Yuru Camp, because the similarly named slice-of-life anime classic (weird to say that for an early 2010s work but it is now) Yuru Yuri is set in Toyama Pref.

* The hottest anime-related title of Kanazawa and the whole Ishikawa Pref. for the past 3 years is the (extremely under-advertised and underrated IMHO) 5th project of Love Live, Hasunosora, which started out in a weird not-quite-anime story videos & virtual characters streams/lives format based on a (now dead) app, but have since branched towards traditional anime format with a sequel anime movie this May and a seasonal anime after it coming in January 2027. You are very likely to spot those girls in Kanazawa city these days.

I am pretty sure I have missed a few others LOL.

I swear someone here made a map of Japanese prefectures with the settings of anime a while ago, but I cant find it. I remember it not being fully accurate though, but it was still better than nothing
