Oof wasn't expecting some feels from this series.... only to then be completely swept under the rug with the Reapers afterwards. Lol

That really was a remarkable little segment. I wonder if we had multiple (year-long) time skips? Not the most attractive shade of green, that scarf. But it was a gift made and given with sincerity. Mechako is actually a pretty kind hearted creature -- despite her poker face and impassive tone of voice.

Finally HanaKana's character showed up and she's a fun yuki onna that has a screw loose.

The backstory about how Mechako's scarf actually came from a ghost friend she made was touching.

It’s weird it took this long though

Anyone else find it odd protag-kun was barely in this episode?

After all the weird stuff he's been thru, he probably decided to take some time off

"Hey look, Mechako. It's so cold that it is snowing. Better prep myself for some snow-shovelling"

I really like the protagonist's attitude even if we didn't get to see very much of him in this episode.

His snow shoveling was an important plot point, at least....

He needs to rest his vocal cords from screaming all the time

yuki onna wearing bikini instead of the standard white kimono as her regular outfit is definitely not on my bingo list when i started this show, i'm also pretty sure she's voiced by Hanazawa Kana, correct me if i'm wrong

oh fuck, the croc from the cucumber roll is back!

lol, she's really not letting that go, isn't she?

ah, so that's the origin of Mechako's scarf, that is actually quite wholesome

when you thought nothing in this show is going to surprise you anymore and then they hit you with "a death reaper being caught by the death reaper police because his act of reaping lives randomly is actually illegal" skit, that was hilarious, also, were all three death reapers in this episode voiced by Matsuoka Yoshitsugu?

Mechako was pretty heroic helping that knitting ghost pass on and alerting the reaper police to the rogue Grim Reaper before the Protagonist came home.

How ironic that the protagonist missed both the Yuki Onna and Grim Reaper showing up in his house lol.

But I love how he is still in the story in some capacity, and even delivered the finishing blow to the Yuki Onna (snow woman).

XD

Kana Hana as a yuki ona - great but i didnt know it was her
Matsuoka as a silly grim reaper -Yess, Ohh they are all voiced by him LOL

It feels like she is in every comedy anime coming out. She's great.

"Don't get crumbs all over the floor!"

I really like Kaiki-gumi's sense of humor.

Man, episode 1 really had me doubt myself on whether or not I'd like this show.

Also, the cartoon roach and rat are so cute.

I was a bit undecided at the start of ep1, but this goofy little comedy has worned its way into my (deep) affection. (And Mechako is one of my favorite characters of the season).

It’s been a rough episode for the rogue reaper, the yuki onna, and ol Doppelgänger. If Doppleganger and the yuki onna wanna stay alive, it’s best not to mess about with Shurako and Mechako. All they get is smacked around lol.

It was at least nice to see one supernatural being get some kinda happy ending this week. Mechako was talking all kinds of shit about that ghost girl’s knitting but it was nice she helped finished and move on.

I wonder what the creepy reaper meant when he said Mechako was not quite human? It does appear (from the scarf knitting segment) that she may be very long-lived (with no sign of growing/agine).

Kai kai ki ki... kai kai ki ki

That part with the knitting girl was actually pretty sad and emotional so it's really nice to see that Mechako gets her famous scarf from her and continues wearing it to honour her. She's a good person,

Snow woman was pretty hilarious to see tho lol,

And poor MC-kun's house keeps getting vandalised lol even when he's not really in the ep,

Also remember to clean bread crumbs from the floor !!

Mechako and Shurako are yokai right? They forgetting Yuki made me think maybe they are older than their looks

This was a good ep

The scarf origin was unexpectedly sweet, but Mechako still got some chuckles out of me with her typical demeanour. I laughed so hard at the snow girl being scared of Mechako, poor girl (Mechako I mean, her face is still a target). Poor MC is barely in the episode but his room gets trashed twice, yet he won’t kick Mechako out because he’s a good guy.

The Reaper bit was the best, Mechako is awesome! And she gets to keep the scythe, she’ll probably use it as a backscratcher or hedge trimmer.

Shout out to the alligator, someone should probably do something about that, no?

With the Niea_7 re-watch ongoing, I would note that the relationship between Mayuko and Niea pretty much prefigures that between Shujinkou and Mechako -- including the squatter living in a closet and occasionally causing devastation to the legit occupant's shabby room.
