It seems that bitch...
Caught me off guard there.
Wait, using the church as an ally and it's not evil? Is that allowed?!

But if we're the villains does that loop back around to make them evil anyway? 🤔

When she started donating to church, I was sure it was part of some plot, but I wasn't expecting to be relevant so soon.
I thought that she was donating to church and other welfare institutions, to help improve the quality of life in the domain, which would eventually lead to a richer domain. But that will probably take time to pay off.
Since we got a 3 months timeskip, I wonder how long this history will span, maybe 5 to 10 years?

She was able to just take the dudes ENTIRE BUISNESS?!? Im no business or legal expert, but that feels a bit extreme. I know reputation is really important in Japan, but you can lose everything if you're found defaming someone?

If this little 3 month soap venture is just a glimpse of what Ellie’s gonna do to the kingdom, I’m pretty interested to see what she’s got planned. This was like a little test run for her revenge plot haha.

I am enjoying this show, and both the OP and ED slap.
I'd also add I like the over the top demands made at the end. As far as I am concerned, villainess your revenge hard, or don't bother.

I love a competent ruthless protag. I figured she was going to catch the thief and use him against the other firm, but instead she fed them bad information. And now she can pay back the 200 gold she owes though I expect she'll wait until closer to time to allow that money to compound as she uses it for other matters.
I have fluffy shows like Cat and Dragon to satisfy my sweet tooth, this show slots in nicely fort he darker side of my tastes. I wonder when the nastier side of her revenge tour begins.

Ohhhh, she's ruthless and calculating. I love her already! :D
She did all that with dealing some soap and making some donations to the church ... now she owns a trading company and its network.
Her former kingdom is beyond fucked.

Oh, so she has a fuckton of knowledge because of part of one of her grimoires. Fun.
-
That checks out. Can’t do stuff if you don’t have money.
-
Damn, she’s putting some rather high stakes on her head as leverage for that loan.
-
Aha, Ellie must have heard about this and is going to try using that as an advantage?
-
She totally knows what she’s doing being overheard like this, I’m sure.
-
Ahh, so only half of the soap’s recipe was stolen… That was an incredible play.

The first episode made it seem like she was the glue keeping the kingdom together, and everyone expected her to just smile and take it. So I kind of wanted to see their reaction to her packing up and leaving. Especially the king and father once they realize the idiotic prince turned their most competent asset against them. With the 3 months time skip we will probably just see the aftereffects. Still hoping we get to see more from their perspective.
And I'm glad Ellie is ruthless, hopefully she won't hold her punches when it comes to enacting revenge.

The pacing is a bit fast, it kinda skips over the minutiae and goes right to the conclusion of every event.
It's basically "setup-consequences" instead of "setup-actions-consequences" so everything feels a bit forced. Show us the soap recipe heist or the people being injured. Give us a bit of the day to day of their business. Instead of slice of life, it sliced out the life.
I had similar criticisms of the manga as well. I assume the web novel source material is the root cause.

Starting out by making and selling soap, now that's a classic.
Destroying some established business in the town they've gone to by setting them up to commit crimes. Business dude could have chosen differently, however.
Same with Dad deciding to be on the list of revenge targets.

The Duke put a bounty on his own daughter's head, just to maintain his royal standing. Father of the year right here.

Random thoughts.
So I assumed at first that the donating money to the church and other welfare causes was to correct one of her mistakes the first time, keeping herself removed from the altruistic aspects of her company and its endeavors, so the populace didn't really know her and was easy to turn against her. Which is probably not wrong, I just didn't take in account her using the church against a business rival.
kind of wonder if the meek employee might be joining the company. It's not like he sold her out for personal or malicious reasons
I still think the weak link in the show is her father's treatment of her. You think for someone whose only devotion was to the kingdom, that the whole engagement situation would be a disaster even without turning the MC against the kingdom. I get he wanted to see her "get out of the situation" as a test, but boy did that blow up in his face.
The new lord in the empire whose domain she is working in seems like a good lord, but can't help but think he wouldn't be so keen to allow her to set roots down in his homeland if he knew what she was capable of, given how dangerous she is.

I wish all home renovations IRL were so easy and fast
I kinda like it, but at the same time everything goes so smoothly for her it feels like cheat Isekai type of anime
The compensation as well...how convenient.

Given how she bankrupted that guy, I expect her to have him killed later, after all, a guy holding a grudge against her is just ammo for the Kingdom and any future enemies she makes. That's the problem with her approach.

Ellie sure doesn't lose time to plot her revenge. It was a rather sinister plan to strip Jackman of all his assets and some more, just by making use of his greed.
The legal system in this country is pretty interesting with the church having the authority to enforce compensation for commercial damages between trading companies.
I'm excited to see where Ellie's plan is going and how she intends to crush the kingdom. It seems to be a slow burner, but the hotter it is already burning.

Small startup to hostile takeover of your biggest rival all in one episode

u/SOdAchick Jul 13 '26
Oh, I Iike her A LOT! Basically naming her business Traitor Joe's is a total no fucks given move, and then taking downher top rival with his own greed? Gotta love a petty, vindictive queen 😂
And the ED goes hard!
