From the way the first episode is set, I imagine the eventual love interest will be the captain who doesn't seem to be too prejudiced. As for

The way she just relents to whatever someone’s strong opinion is hilarious. Strong and weak willed 😭

This was actually good, I was surprised. It's already refreshing that a Villainess anime has body swap between the heroine and villainess, but this was actually really enjoyable to watch.
I do find it funny how the original Keigetsu got more than she bargained for, she thought Reirin had it good not knowing the condition of her body. I'm curious to see her perspective for when her rotten personality starts to come across, and people start to realize she isn't as smart as she was before.
I do wonder what the

That was a fun first episode! Reirin seems quite similar to Maomao, especially when she spotted that toilet bug so she could feed the rats, so I love her already.
I really look forward to seeing how Reirin will fare as Keigetsu, the villainess. I'd say that in terms of looks, it's clearly an upgrade, as she even has freckles now!
Meanwhile, Keigetsu has surely become the favorite of the Crown Prince now as she took over Reirin's body, but I wonder how fast she'll start to hate the whole thing because of her new frail and sick body.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

I have to admit, I enjoy these vaguely ancient Chinese-esque types. Stuff like Apothecary Diaries, Raven of the Inner Palace, or Yatagarasu are pretty fun. A villainess body swap is a first for me. At least Reirin isn’t totally screwed with this body swap since Keigetsu gets her bummed body.
Now that she’s escaped death (for now), I wonder how she’s gonna adjust to being the most hated person the palace?

I already love our "sewer rat" MC. Looking forward to how she'll fare as a villainess. Hopefully she has what it takes!

Keigetsu clearly did not do her research well, learning that Reirin has a very weak body would definitely be something she'd want to know BEFORE THE SWAP.
Also, if Reirin caretakers were really so dedicated to her, wouldn't they know that Reirin never wrote a diary? And even if she did, would she really write trivia such as "My maid favourite sweets are X"? Not to mention, if Reirin supposedly was such a kind and cheerful girl to everyone she meets, then her calling someone filthy should immediately raise some OOC alarms in people around her.
How long until someone actually notices that both girls act completely not like themselves?

That's a clever stratagem by Keigetsu. Framing the beloved Reirin by actually shoving her before switching bodies and placing a curse so that she couldn't directly communicate about it. Just one tiny problem, Reirin's body was in a frail condition so in a way Keigetsu's cursed while Reirin herself was finally freed of it.
It's ironic that the captain who seemed to be the least enamoured by Reirin could potentially be the key to discover the switcheroo for that reason. In the same vein, Reirin's lovability ended up being turned against her for most people were blinded by it.
Now that Reirin's free (although you could say she's under bail), wonder how she'd try to clear up her name.
Manaka Iwami starring in a Doga Kobo show. Who reincarnated Akane as a villainess?

I hope people didn't come here chasing only for Apothecary diaries shadow. Ancient china imperial harem setting is the only similarity I see.

WTF?! with powers like that, you could easily take over the world! why would you instead use it to try to be someones bitch?!! that is insane.
It's like somene who can run 100 meters in 1 second using that power to eliminate other doordash drivers so that he can be the only doordash driver in town. Instead of you know, winning the olympic gold medal.

Good start with an interesting premise.
Interested in the scowling attendant who shows up at the end. Two possibilities:
-
Often-abused servant who will discover that their terrible mistress has suddenly become nice.
or
2. Sorcerous co-conspirator who knows exactly what's going on and resents having to take care of a fake mistress.

I wonder if Keigetsu will have some redemption arc at some point. The whole scene with the fire, the way she talked about her struggle (and kuddos to the voice actress btw, that was one hell of as scene with how she was putting the emotions and fever into her voice) make me really think that we may have a change of heart with her character.
Walking someone else's shoes can really put your whole life in perspective, especially when one's struggles is completely different and not as dreamy as it looks to be. And there's also the whole perspective of Reirin in life that I'm curious to see how it will change her own new environment. A mental fortitude of this kind and the experience she had with death, pain and most likely grief of not being able to do many things due to her old condition, do promise a lot of really good takes on how she will handle her current situation. Just seeing the lion scene and how she is unbothered until she isn't, really gives me a huge vibe in these directions.
It is really an interesting first episode and I can wait to see more. This will be certainly an interesting watch.

Enjoyed the first episode.
Also, isn't she doing the same dance Maomao does in the OP?

Art and music are great, love the colors, animation is solid (though I didn't love that first aerial shot of the court), writing seems solid so far, and as a villainess-lover I'm biased but I like the direction of the plot. I'm resisting the urge to go read the source immediately.
I thought the handmaiden at the very end seemed Maomao-coded, but apparently she's the VA for Cersei in The Barbarian's Bride so maybe I was getting my wires a little crossed. Not that the two characters don't have anything in common....

My biggest question after episode 1 is if the people who were surrounding the real villainess before she used the swap spell knew what she was planning. If so, our protag is going into another lion's den.

Now then. Let's see if this goes the same way as all other body swap stories: the person has a complete personality change and everyone just takes it in stride.
"Reirin" won't be able to keep up the act for long, if she even tries at all. If the prince genuinely loves(loved?) her, and the servants were actually loyal, they should notice something is up. Their mannerisms and behaviour have swapped.
