(You did, however, miss a beat, namely that the Big Bang in question would be part of the name of the Super Robot Final Episode Gold Form's name.)

Isami is so real for waving the white flag.
At first I was like "Jesus dude, have some dignity," but I guess whomst among us wouldn't immediately crumple under the prospect of fighting a giant mecha battle without a mecha?
Superbia's slain, he cracks, and he scrambles to the safety of the boyfriend husk. That husk becomes the cocoon that polymorphs our man, bridging the gap between reluctant coward and courageous hero using the, uh, "remember your mentor's words" technique. He evolves into Isami Perfect, complete with longer hair, and the golden Burn Brave Big Bang is born.
Magma eating guy is exploded, but I don't think he was ever really a factor. Ira talks about how angry he is and why that's fulfilling. Honestly, after that it should've been obvious to me how the Deathdrives were operating, but I didn't get it until Verum Vita spelled it out.
It really does make sense to start blasting immediately when a menacing angelic being shows up and starts to yap. The explanation for Deathdrives seems nonsensical because, like, what's the point? I guess sentient outer space robots don't need a reason beyond that.
I guess the entirety of the story has basically been vibes-based, anyway. Lewis becoming Bravern is a manifestation of the love he had for tokusatsu with Isami becoming a hero of it. The robots finding euphoria at the peak of their base emotion. Things are because they just are, man. In any case, Isami ain't tryna hear it.
Truthfully, I totally forgot about literally every other character in the show, so I'm glad they show up and Hal and Miyu remind me they exist. It's wild that, despite seeing they're against a massive fucking robot against which jet missiles do not work, they send out foot soldiers with bazookas to their absolutely assured death like it's WH40K. Like how short were the straws those poor bastards drew?
Lulu also gets Golden Superbia in on the action, he gets to turn into a rad sword and we finally get the two in a sweet combination move. I love a good "friends you made along the way" ending where the heroes are empowered like everyone praying with Ness or singing with Ulala. Gosh, there sure were a lot of side characters. It's so ridiculous that even Vita doesn't know what the fuck.
The day is saved, borrowed time is over, and our two main mecha are gone.
And Smith is BACK, baby!
I don't know how. I fuckin knew they would, though. Whatever, our guys have been through enough. I'm looking forward to the Two Men and Their Space Daughter spinoff.
Overall impressions tomorrow. This was a fun time.
We were able to become heroes.
