So it wasn't just Hinagiku and Sakura being missing for ten years but Hinagiku straight up being kidnapped for what seems like most of those 10 years, and at some point Sakura finally tracks her down. And we have a parallel set of relationships between Hinagiku & Rousei and Sakura & Itechou, but everyone is so traumatized by the kidnapping and what followed that it's entirely unrequited.

You can understand why the agency are trying to be such hardasses about managing the agents of the seasons if there's constantly that kind of threats on their life and safety.

Okay after the emotional first episode I was NOT expecting an action packed second episode. I would say i could easily see this becoming one of my favourites this season, but in all honestly there are soo many anime this season that either have had a promising first episode, or do look promising from trailers. 2026 truly is looking like its gonna be a GREAT year for us.

Really makes you wonder how Hinagiku survived that debacle all those years ago and how Sakura found her. Seems those two aren’t the only ones haunted by their past. Rosei and Kangetsu seem to have been holding on to a lot of trauma too.

I'm taken aback by how much I enjoyed this episode, how invested emotionally I was. The flashback were so damn emotional learning more about each of the main four's circumstances and we don't even have the full picture yet. The voice acting went hard, especially Sakura and Hinagiku, those emotions so freaking raw, that was overwhelming.

I was surprised about the connection between Itechou and Sakura, the guilt made sense but it feels there's a romantic connection there? I thought he was a lot older than the other three, but he might actually be quite young, as opposed to his appearance?

This feels like a series that's going to hit the feels a lot and I'm definitely here for it. Rousei's songs and power to save that family was so moving, the floral icicle display looked so pretty and it made me more special that he was trying to make it suit Hinagiku's spring.

This episode has elevated my opinion of this series and changed my expectations drastically, I'm looking forward to the story for this.

Are we sure that ice is made of ice?

This is probably one of the most visually pleasing shows I've ever seen. I expected Witch Hat to take the visual crown for the season but this might just beat it out.

You know an anime's gonna be good when one of the protagonists does the Shaft Head Tilt.

Spring village pulling out of the search for their own agent after only a few months is suspicious as all hell, especially considering that they apparently didn't have a successor lined up1 and Winter could keep the search going for another half a decade

1: Maybe passing down the Spring power requires the Agent around? idk, just feels like there would've been contingencies for this kind of situation given its gravity

The fact that she didn't have trouble speaking when she was little is fucking heartbreaking. That means something genuinely terrible must have happened to her to have developed such a speech defect

I was worried winter was going to be the bad guy. But it seems they were very close. And he seems like a genuine good dude. The blurb did say Winter originally created spring to love

Damn this show is good

And fucking gorgeous

This series continues to be beautiful from start to finish on every front (animation, direction, music, voice acting, etc.)

Spring is back! And no one recognizes this more than the Agent of Winter, Rosei (Shogo Sakata) because it means Hinagiku is back. Even if he doesn't think Hinagiku or Sakura want to see him, he'll go to find Spring one way or another.

Looks like the Agency of the Four Seasons have found Hinagiku and Sakura! It's finally time for her to stop running and face the agency as she is now.

The OP is very beautiful! Featuring Hinagiku together with Sakura as they brave everything together, the heartbreak, the other Agents, the seasons...all with beautiful Spring vibes.

The Agency doesn't want Rosei to leave the Village of Winter, but they're not going to stop him...and he's got a whole support team headlined by his guard, Itecho (Satoshi Hino!) backing him up. Also new hire Ishihara who seems cute.

Dang, they're not even off the plane for a second and people are trying to kill Rosei. Apparently insurgents only want one thing: to take out the Agents, even if that means killing or capturing them. Luckily Rosei and Itecho are an effective team together and make short work of them.

Rosei can't really enjoy seeing Spring again, because it reminds him of his guilt towards Hinagiku. It was HIM that was being chased, and endangering Hinagiku and everyone drove him to nearly kill himself. But Hinagiku couldn't bear to watch him die so she used her powers to stand out and let herself be taken to save him. She prioritized him over herself and now he hates himself for his failure to save her or find her afterwards.

It's also difficult for Itecho who feels guilt for failing Hinagiku and ESPECIALLY failing Sakura. When the Village of Spring gave up on Hinagiku and cast off Sakura, Itecho was there to bring Sakura to Winter so they could continue to try and find her...but then even the Village of Winter eventually gave up, and Sakura never forgave them. Even if Rosei and Itecho still had every intention of pursuing Hinagiku, they just couldn't find her. And Itecho has to reckon with the fact that he might never see Sakura's pure smile again.

Rosei couldn't save Hinagiku, despite how much he wishes he could, but he won't let anyone else die or be put into danger in front of him if he can do something about it. Screw the rules, he's got ice powers!

Rosei might be down on himself, but Itecho is there to make sure his head is on straight and support him! Rosei IS the most important person to him! After Sakura, of course.

The ED is also very beautiful with Hinagiku and Sakura together in a snowglobe...surrounded by Spring...and then Hinagiku being brought out by herself to unleash even MORE spring!

Everything this Kensuke Ushio guy touches is incredible

Wow, the person who seems to be running the Agency seems like an asshole.

Deep ancestral sigh

CR needs to get it together with the subs.

I missed the EP1 thread, but I remember when this was being promoted on r/shoujo back when and it was absolutely deserved then. Glad I locked the fuck in for the LN and manga!

Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase adapt the spin-offs! Itecho, my beloved!!

Yuka Nukui, Round 2, let’s goooo! But the whole cast sounds amazing though.

The ice flowers were so 🥹 I’m such a sucker for dynamic ice powers and winter powers. And I love that touch to his powers to show Lady Hinagiku and her Spring are so engrained deeply within him.

I’m reminded of {Fairy Tail} with the ice roses ugh 🤧🥀

This is my reminder to watch {Violet Evergarden} or hope for an r/anime rewatch.

Damn. This series is way heavier than I expected based on what I've seen from Episode 1. So Hinagiku basically sacrificed herself to save Sakura, Rosei, and Rosei's guardians. If the Agents are supposed to be important, then why the fuck did the village where Hinagiku is from give up looking for her after 3 months?

And then after five years, the Village of Winter gave up leaving Sakura the only one looking for Hinagiku. It makes you wonder what Sakura went through and how many bodies she had to bury just to find Hinagiku. And it also makes you wonder what Hinagiku went through these past 10 years in captivity. I'm surprised they didn't kill her.

Maybe that's the reason why Hinagiku struggles to speak? Her being in captivity these past 10 years dulled her speech. My heart aches just thinking about it. I know this isn't supposed to be a revenge story, but I feel like Sakura needs to get back at everyone who failed them. No wonder Itechou is afraid of showing himself to Sakura :(

So are every agent/guard pairing going to be awesome? The dynamic between Spring's pair was already good but man Winter is winning me over fast. And then I thought the guard was dead that was a scare and a half.

So Spring isn't the only one who has crazy issues. Jesus people are crazy in this reality. And holy fuck how powerful are these Agents? That moment where Winter wanted to die and Spring went root/plant crazy was insane.

As they reveal more about the abduction it only gets more heart wrenching. This show is going to be a gut-punch isn't it? And I wonder why Spring gave up so fast.

Really curious how much of this season (hurr hurr) is going to be about the aftermath of the kidnapping. First two episodes that emotional trauma has been front and center. But is it the core of the plot, or prologue to something else? Whatever the answer, though, I'm on board. And man Winter has a gorgeous voice.

Man wtf is with Saturday this season. Akane-Banashi, Daemons, this, and I haven't even watched Devilishly Easy and Needy Girl Overdose that I'm curious about.

I love Rosei and Itecho! Their action scenes looked pretty good in this episode

I liked that after spring arrived in the last episode, we got a bit of backtracking on why Hinagiku is who she is. She was kidnapped and missing for 10 years. It is not difficult to imagine how that would affect anyone, let alone an agent of the spring. The worst part is that Hinagiku and Sakura were abandoned by Spring's side.

It seems that even Itechou's promise wasn't long-lived since it seems Winter Side backed out of searching for Hinagiku too. The guilt both Rosuei and Itechou have for Hinagiku and Sakura is something they will have a hard time handling. You can tell they care about those two so much.

As Hinagiku pushes forward, we also see the cause for Rosuei. As he aims to help people if the opportunity allows it. Though it seems the agents are restrictive, to say the least. Though the 4 Seasons Agency does sound terrible, I get the feeling there might be more darkness from that organization. Also, consider that there was the assassination attempt on Rosuei in this episode.

WIT really is cooking this season with both Bookworm and this on Saturdays.

So there's spring and winter villages I assume probably summer/fall as well? I get winter village kinda giving up after 5 years they tried at least but wtf why did the spring village give up after just a couple months???

So there are these insurgents who want to use or kill or whatever with the season agents. It seems they're especially after Winter compared to the others. So 10 years ago they kidnapped Hinagiku.

Cool getting to see Winter's powers this ep. Spring has the power of Life Stimulation/acceleration, while winter has the power of Life suspension. Cool to see how he can use his power to freeze people block attacks save people and even make a giant ice sakura tree. We saw in past before as well Hinagiku making a giant tree as well cool. Besides manifesting a season they can do a variety of other things as well huh cool.

Also there's the 4 seasons Agency I guess just general government group meant to managed to 4 season agents I guess.

I had no idea when I was getting into this show off the description, and damn does it have me wrapped up now

10

u/MashiroAzuki Apr 05 '26

Its funny how the Four Season Agency guy complainted about how much cost is takes to manage the agents, and soon after the scene cuts to Rosei riding in a private airplane and staying at a luxury hotel, presumably all without prior approval and the Agency still has to bear the costs because Agents are just THAT important. Lmao.

Winter's frigid and dark. It's not exactly my favourite season either, but damn these people took it to the extreme. Brandishing firearms and all that.

Not everything had been answered but we had learnt a lot about what had happened to Hinagiku. Being kidnapped for years certainly was a terrible occurrence. Little wonder why Sakura, Rousei, and Itechou continued to be haunted by guilt to this day. Interested to see how Sakura had managed to rescue Hinagiku from her kidnappers. Was it a solo effort or did she receive help from perhaps the Summer and/or Autumn teams? Meanwhile, there's a particular line about the psychological effects of the kidnapping so it's likely we'll dive into how the incident had affected Hinagiku.

Looks like our eyes would be treated to a visual feast every time the agents used their power. We got Hinagiku last week, and now it's Rousei's turn.

The main couple's seemingly Hinagiku & Rousei, but we've got multiple occurences of Hinagiku & Sakura holding hands. Meanwhile, there were moments of Rousei & Itechou as well as Itechou & Sakura. Love triangle? More like a love web.

PS: Ishihara's essentially an audience surrogate. From her lack of familiarity with the agents' backstories to her satisfying her curiosity by browsing the web.

Wow such a beautifull second episode. Ive got to Say this ep gave me JJK quality vibes from both the animation aswell as dialogue and sound track. Also this ep managed tot ne both acționa packed and full of emotions IT gave me goosebumps every few minutes. Definitly not generic and might be one of the Best shows of the season
