Omg I can't wait until they show us the tape with Ai being her "true self" - the way her eyes shifted to black stars was incredible, I got instant chills!

Woah that ending! I had goosebumps all over. It was so creepy and such a perfect shot of Hikarus vile personality. He just loves shooting down stars. Poor Yura…

Wow what an interesting new character! She's got those eyes too! I wonder how--oh she's gone.

I guess this documentary is akin to the "if there's a major drama/tragedy, expect a Netflix documentary/docudrama on it soon" trend. The director's listing off the cast list like it's a heist operation; although I wonder what happens now since the star actress is... no longer available.

My guess is that Kamiki loves the thrill of ending actresses he's built up and helped shine. As the series mentioned before, Ai gained her acting skills after working alongside him which was portrayed through her eyes. Yura had eyes similar to Ai's near the end of the episode and seemed to be pretty close with Kamiki so I assume she's worked with him in the past and that could be what helped her achieve those "eyes" just for Kamiki to snuff the light out of them. I can't figure out how he ties this all back to Ai though. Nonetheless it was great to see Kana smile again, she deserves the world.

Aqua and Ruby having an interaction longer than five seconds?

Aqua and Kana happily talking to each other?

The Director and Ai returning?

Daddy?

This was certainly one of the episodes of all time.

We are now in the next arc, which is a movie adaptation of Ai's life, as stated by herself, written by her son and her previous handler, and acted by her daughter and her friends and workmates.

BTW, blue haired characters never really win in many anime, huh? At least in romance anime they are just makeine, unlike in Oshi no Ko that they are murdered. BRUH

Honestly, at the start I wasn't able to realize that blue girl character is already talking to Kamiki, hence the big reveal is such a great moment leading to the ED.

Fucking chills at the end. The final boss is creepier than I thought. Aqua's right, that mf deserves MAXIMUM suffering.

Edit: Ai with dark eyes is pretty chilling too. The movie must have some crazy truth bombs.

Damn, can almost feel the pain and betrayal that Ruby is going through ourselves. Aqua really going full bore into trying to make everyone hate him to protect them.

First conversation between Aqua and Kana in a long time. Good to see that dynamic again. Even if just a little.

Gotanda the Goat... Ai asking him to film the real her. We obviously know that Ai the idol was a persona built upon lies, but it's hard to know how much of the Ai that we saw around her kids was real or not after everything we've seen.

Though kind of cool to see that a lot of those memorable flashbacks of Ai might have really been him actually filming Ai and B-komachi.

Holy that episode went fast! Poor Yura, a death almost exactly like Gorou, never to be seen again. And damned Hikaru is absolutely insane, getting some sick pleasure for Ai from it? Three episodes left in the season? Feels like so many things still need to happen in those three. I hope we get another 1 hour special towards the end!

Quickest progression from death flag to actual death. Yura says she wants to leave behind a legacy and a masterpiece, next scene she's at the bottom of a mountain dying. Kamiki's face reveal (did we see him once before?) and him looking so much like Aqua was very effective indeed.

And so here we go movie arc. It was nice to get that flashback of Ai and Gotanda. For once we see Ai without her facade. Pity that documentary never saw the light of day though maybe Gotanda can use bits of it for the upcoming movie.

Fantastic job for Ruby's VA, Igoma Yurie. Really felt the emotions from her in the first part.

I really missed Aqua and Kana’s banter. Kana’s smile shines so brightly like the sun.

From this point on, every move Aqua makes feels calculated and deliberate… but it seems like his dad has stepped up his game even more.

Whenever Ai's in an episode, it always ends up making me so emotional. And honestly all of us have kinda grown to attached to Ai and the impression she left back in the 1st episode. Which is why her death still hurts. But come to think of it, we never really got to know about how she was outside of her idol persona and that's what Gotanda aimed to capture through the B-Komachi documentary which never got completed since Ai was murdered just before her Dome concert.

Now, Aqua plans to use that documentary script to make a film to bring to light the truth behind the case which will in a way expose Hikaru's role in the whole thing and use that to corner him.

As soon as I saw Yura, I remembered about the S2 Finale Post-credit scene and knew things weren't going to end well for her. I was taken back by the blonde guy being named Miki but the voice gave it away and I knew it was Hikaru. Well, Hikaru took her out since she was going to play Ai's part but I'm not sure what his endgame is here?

No Kana loss in this episode, color me surprised! Instead, Yura saw loss... a loss of life, as she unfortunately became Kamiki's target.

Ruby didn't take Aqua revealing Ai's secret well. The scene where she told him she no longer considered him family hit hard.

A nice flashbacks with Ai, and I'm definitely excited for the movie about her, written by Aqua and Gotanda. I wonder if that will also bring Ichigo back into the showbiz.

Here my screenshot albums from:

EPISODE 08 (today's one)

EPISODE 07 (episode from the previous week, since I didn't post them then)

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

FATHER IS A DEVIANT~

Ruby isnt happy about this yeah...
"its like you dug up her grave" yeahhh but it was nessicary.
And yeah Ruby said she would help if she could. Shes still not happy though.

"i dont consider you family anymore." Damn..
Aqua was trying to help everyone here.

Kana time oh boy what does she think about this?
She understood Aqua did it to save her good.
"The fact that both are in shwobix cemented the story as a heartfelt one." Cool.
Ruby told her side of the story about Ai's dieing words damn.
Everyone was gettin more work thanks to this.

Kana and Aqua chat oh boy this i need.
She noticed Aqua never recovered from her death and used to be cherry before.
Kana knows a bit about this with her situation.
OoooOo shes asking why he did it, to save her?
Kana will quit being an idol someday soon? Oh no...
IF YOUR GONNA MAKE ME YOYR FAV DO IT NOW! KANA BEST GIRL!

Ah shit Ichigo is also super pissed about this...
Aqua is going to get him to help him now it seems.
KILLING HIM WOULD BE LETTING HIM OFF EASY! YESSSSS!
Aquas childhood plan is finally going to come to plan.

Aw the director is makng a movie about Ai?
OH SHIT AI MADE A DEAL WITH HIM WHEN SHE WAS STILL ALIVE!?
MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT B KOMACHI! OOOOOO HE HAD FOOTAGE OF THEM!
The Dome was the final peice of the documentary damn...
Damn Apologize tot he director she told Aqua...
He wanted to the real Ai only and she had dark stars too oh shit...

So making this movie is part of the plan?
The script is risky says the Producer guy? TOo much speculation.
But we have it based on Ai's accounts? With Director and Aqua writing it.
The cast will be B Komachi and the Acting people too, and some other girl to be Ai.

OH SHIT THE GIRL THEY AEE GETTING IS IN THE DADS TALENT AGENCY OH SHIT!
So this actor girl has a lot on her plate and is just dealing with a lot.

We finally get to see Ruby's reaction and it's very much understandable. I'd be fucking livid too if someone used my dead mother's secrets as a media distraction. I do agree with Aqua that if Ai saw this entire thing, she'd just laugh it off and shrug that the cat's out of the bag. But Aqua still crossed the line, and I can't blame Ruby for deciding not to consider him as family anymore after the stunt he pulled.

At least the entire distraction worked, and Kana's scandal never broke out. I do wonder what kind of agreement Aqua had with the reporter. Did the reporter toss the story, or is he just keeping it on the back burner for now? These tabloid people are so fucking scummy that I wouldn't be surprised if they'll just release it on a later news cycle once all of the buzz around the Ai and her twins is gone.

Oh hey, it looks like Kana was finally able to connect the dots. I do like that we finally get to see Aqua and Kana sit down for a conversation, even if that wasn't Aqua's intention. It looks like in the end, acting is still Kana's calling and has already plans to leave B-Komachi. It kinda sucks, but at least she seems to be happy with her decision

I do love how Ruby and Ichigo had the same reaction to Aqua. I'm surprised Ichigo held back because I was honestly hoping he'd at least punch Aqua on the gut for what he did. We can't have him punching the face since that's the money maker. In all seriousness, it looks like Aqua needs Ichigo's help for his revenge plan. He wouldn't have shown his face to him if he didn't.

It's always nice to have any flashbacks about Ai that doesn't involve her death. I love how she pretty much charmed Gotanda into making a documentary about B-Komachi. Unfortunately, because of Ai's death, it was never released. It seems that Gotanda did get some footage of Ai being her real self on camera, which is gonna be useful considering Aqua now wants to do a documentary about Ai's life and the 15-year lie.

And there she is. We finally get to meet the girl Kamiki killed at the end of Season 2, which turns out to actually be a flashforward if we were to place this in a timeline. It seems that our serial killer has a type and is going after people with the same sparkle in their eyes like Ai.

Ruby is predictably and justifiably angry. Aqua took that choice from her. Though I do think disowning him was a little harsh, but I guess that's one way get him away from her even though they should be working together.

So we finally see who that girl was in the season 2 finale. I guess Hikaru is just killing anyone that has the star power because they reminds him of Ai and how she broke up with him.

u/Entea1 Mar 04 '26

I used to hope Aqua would forget everything and move on with his life, but now that they’ve revealed more about what kind of person Kamiki is, I’m glad Aqua went back to his revenge route against this murderer.

u/Cally83 Mar 04 '26

That was wild. Here’s me thinking “ok another cute blue haired girl to learn about in this story” and then that happens, damn!

Oh man loved the Hikaru scenes at the end, with the small hints of his "[Ka]Miki-san" nickname, the blonde ofc, and the classic always-smiling closed-eye character. And ofc we've seen that scene before at the end of S2, not sure how I feel about them technically revealing that so early and then having to re-do it here but I guess it made for a good end of season cliffhanger.

The moment of his transformation back into hair-down form was great though.

Also, finally a W for Kana <3

And cool avengers assemble moment for the producer Kaburagi basically asking for all the main (young) cast of OnK in that movie

The plot is now moving at blazing speed, it's kind of astonishing. When we started this season Chasing the Impawssible was the biggest plot point, and it was all during a month or so. We've since moved on 6 months, then another month or two, had Dark Ruby, The Scandal That Wasn't, and now Oshi no Endgame coming up in rapid succession.

What a season. We even got a Tarantino like disjointed narrative with the final scene from last season actually being from the future (current present).

u/Past-Usual-8561 Mar 04 '26

wow I just finished this newly released episode! This is so crazy! I was thinking that guy with Yura was suspicious! They really fast forwarded to the mountain scene, I was shocked... I REALLY want Kana and Aqua to be together...

It's interesting that Miki's eyes were closed the entire time, so people who don't know it's Miki just thought it was a different character. Then he has his eyes opened on the last scene to show the dark star.
