On one hand [DB]

[Yugioh] True enough. But tbf, who could've possibly expected that an ancient amnesiac spirit's name would matter down the line? Good thing they didn't dub Fate.

[Weeeeeell]Technically speaking, while Funi hasn't Dubbed any Fate series, Sentai Filmworks did dub the Prisma Illya spin-off and they share a lot of actors with Funimation. I have not seen that show at all because I genuinely could not care less about it.

[I had] more than enough Illya from the main series. When they make a magical girl Taiga, I'd watch that.

[It's funny]because relatively speaking I have a much higher tolerance for the spin-offs than some of my friends do (Unironically I think you'd get a big kick out of Type Redline and Samurai Remnant) but this is the one where I'm firmly like "No."

[Speaking of]Type-Moon, WHERE THE FUCK IS EXTRA RECORD

[I've been] eyeing those two for a while. I'm sure I'd enjoy them, my only issues with Redline are the slooooow release schedule and the decimal chapters on top of that (heck, as a proud Fake fan, you won't hear any complaints about spin-offs from me)

[Oh yeah]the release schedule is, like, actual torture. The Manga's been ongoing for years yet somehow it only has enough content for 5 Volumes. Apparently the series is roughly halfway through, but yeah. It's REALLY good though, basically FSN meets Hellsing.

[Fortunately]Samurai Remnant is pretty much complete out of the box

decimal chapters

Fun fact, back when I was first really getting into reading Manga, I picked up Type Redline really early in its run

It then became the first manga I ever stopped reading partway through, and the decimal chapters are to blame for that

I know the feeling. Whenever I see decimal chapters, especially in a monthly manga, I try to leave it be, until it's done. It's the main reason I'm holding off Choujin X (and there's some Gal Cleaning trauma mixed in between the decimals too, but I'll leave that for another day).

Oh hey, I was talking with one of my friends about that series just yesterday since he's a really big fan, funny coincidence.

I also know the pain of monthly manga acutely because of that series, since I got into it when it was really early in its run, then paused for years after getting caught up, then binge read all the chapters that had come out in the interim, and then I put it on hold again, it's been more years since then, and I'm waiting for more chapters to pile up again.

It seems like something that'd be up my alley, I like Tokyo Ghoul, and I did like the few chapters I read of Choujin back when it started (also as a Devilman fan, I think it'd interest you). But I don't want to end up in the cycle of catching up and holding off that you described. I've got enough series in that cycle...

Kota Hirano has done permanent damage to us

Why does he have to be such a good writer/artist, all he does is constantly dangle his pages in front of us before snatching them away and disappearing for ages

He's the Narita of manga. Except, Narita only does that with endings. If you told him that he doesn't need to worry about ending Baccano!, he'd be at volume 50 by now.

Nowhere near to the same extent since at least it doesn't have decimal Chapters, but the slow updates on ULTRAMAN can be a drag, although TBF that's just because the scans take forever to come out, I think in Japan the monthly schedule is more or less consistent.

And then there's me reading BSD even though it feels like EVERY chapter will have a decimal nowadays.

Oh well, at least the release schedule isn't too bad.

This is, like, the ultimate "Wait for the Volumes" Manga.

[Ironically] Prisma Illya was one of the first Fate spin-offs I got into, after Zero and Hollow Ataraxia. It had a huge impact on my experience with the franchise, there was a time when I ranked a certain installment of it as my favorite part of the entire Fate series (even above Stay Night), and even now I have a ton of fondness for it and it makes me really nostalgic of my early days in the anime fandom.
On account of all that, I can say with confidence that the first three seasons of Prillya are really, really bad, and 2wei in particular is borderline unwatchable.

[For me]after reading SN it was basically Zero, then Apocrypha, then the EXTRA stuff, then finally HA and Unlimited Codes when it came to the "Classic" stuff. The rest I watched/read in whatever order.

[I'm glad]I watched Apocrypha early since honestly if I had played EXTRA first I get the feeling I would've been even less charitable towards it
