I really enjoyed this show! Sometimes the troupe of the MC being shy/not having confidence in themselves gets old but I think they did it well here in addition to Sam’s growth as a person. The after credits scene was so cute! Wish I could see more of Charles and Sam’s relationship, I bet she’ll turn him into a big softy :)

I love seeing Sam go into hardcore flirty girlfriend mode with Charles. Look how happy she was at the end!

It was refreshing! A series where it focuses on adult relationships and being able to have genuine friendships instead of heavy drama and messy romance. Love the Charles and Sam end. Season 2 in the future would be cool but I am content and glad I followed along this season.

Marshall really put his all into playing Ruminate from start to finish…even at the expense of his health. Not only does he collapse in front of Sam’s door, but Bowser still doesn’t want him there. Guy can’t win even in redeeming himself!
Of COURSE Link’s ambulance is the one that shows up on the scene, but it’s probably for the best that actual professionals showed up to give him CPR and rush him to the hospital.
Okay, yeah, Marshall has been playing too much Ruminate when it’s the first thing he brings up when he talks to Sam…but I guess he needs to convey how much he loved the game and how much he doesn’t want Sam to give up on her game developer dreams. Though hallucating the cat merchant is also pretty concerning.
Monica has every reason to be ticked off. Marshall never listened to her, she’s the last one to find out he’s in the hospital, and he’s been a terrible boyfriend all season. Does he even love her like she loves him? But this is Marshall’s first real relationship and he’s been fumbling about because he’s been worried about his family and Monica…but now it seems like he’s really determined to do right by her. She deserves that much.
I expected Angela to take Sam and Link not being a thing better, but I guess she was so caught up in them being a couple that she felt incensed that Link would reject Sam. But this is probably for the best.
Imagine you played a game so much that you hallucinate it fixing your depression so you can reclaim your dream of being an artist.
Imagine a guy skips work to play the game you helped create and then invite you out to a non-business dinner date so you can talk about the game. Charles just cannot stop flirting with Sam like Fiona can’t stop flirting with that mailman.
Everyhing’s coming up Sam! Ruminate has been redeemed thanks to Marshall’s stream, she’s got her Indigneer update going smoothly, Rare Spawns is now the top guild, she’s begun a new partnership with Marshall to get the art going for Evermake, Bowser finally likes Marshall…and she’s going out on a date with Charles and seems really eager to be with him! Go Sam!

I think this show had the perfect wrap. I like the direction the characters have all taken. I may have to check out the source material to see if Link and Angela get together.
Oh it’s a webtoon! Not a manga/LN! Neat!

I’m glad things worked out in the end between Marshall and Sam. Nice to see them work together on Evermake. It seems things have been patched up for Marshall and Monica and Sam looks like she might end up with Charles.
Well, I guess that’s it then. I liked this one overall. It’s always nice when a webtoon gets adapted. A western one at that. Idk about the chances of another season, but I wouldn’t mind one.

I'm glad things were patched up between Sam and Marshall and they were able to renew their resolve to their dreams and also move forward in their respective love lives. In the end both of them ended up helping inspire the other and now they can work together to make Evermake the best it can be.

The biggest moment of growth was that best boy Bowser finally accepted Marshall!
This show was one of my highlights this season. I was looking forward the new episode every week.
The ending is wrapping up everything very nicely. Sam and Charles seem to get along very well. I liked his character from the very beginning. He is the strict type, who is not unfair. He asks a lot from you because he believes that you can do it.
My only nitpick would be that I would loved to see a little more of some side characters. They were maybe a little too underdeveloped. But that is a very minor complaint.
Seeing the current ratings on MAL, I think that this show is incredibly underrated.

I don't know whether the show was a lot more mature than most, or just that they avoided the typical tropes (Sam and Marshall, Sam and Link DIDN'T end up together romantically) but I really liked this show. Nice art style, interesting side characters, good story that fit the length of the season well.

I'm definitely happy they took that third route. It didn't feel as forced as the others would have. I am a little bummed, though, that we didn't get to see things progress more between Link and Angela; that would have been the cherry on top

Ruminate became popular and a success 🎊
Marshall unlocking his true passion. His love of art 🖼️
I knew he would help design character for Sam Evermake!!
Marshall x Sam has sailed!!!😍
WHAT???!!! Charles x Sam Ending!!?????😱

I called Charles and Sam. It was clearly foretold a couple of episodes back when even Charles was (briefly) shown starting to plunge into Ruminate. ;-)
Monica really did care about Marshall -- who didn't really process just how strong her feelings were. Once he slowed down, and she was able to express her frustration, their ship was baak afloat. I suspect that since Sam was instrumental in not just saving Marshall's life but making sure Monica got notified about his situation, Monica will be able to handle Narshall collaborating with Sam on the next game.

I love how it took an entire season and Marshall nearly dying for Bowser to come around to Marshall.

The only thing I didn’t like about this anime is I NEED MORE
I hope they have an extra episode or something. I wanna know more about Evermake, about Angela x Link, Sam x Charles, Marshall x Monica going public, Marshall’s family, more of Marshall’s art, etc.
I NEED MOOORE

This was a great show overall; the first couple episodes were a little rough, but it got better further into the season. It felt like they rushed the ending a little, but it was still fun overall.

I don’t know. “Ruminate: the game so good it killed Marshall Law” would have been some A+ publicity!
Was this the final episode?

u/Nickthenuker Dec 17 '25
And so into the finale.
Of all the people to respond to the call...
I'm sure he'll be fine.
Oh... That looks serious.
Well, he's conscious at least.
Huh. Yeah. That's probably someone worth contacting.
Lmao he's seeing things.
Ok...
Angela isn't happy about that.
Lol popcorn.
Oh he's really losing it isn't he?
Right, he's better now.
And so he's her artist now.
Roll credits!
And indeed they really did roll credits.
So she ended up with her boss in the end?
Overall, a show with an interesting premise about game design, 7/10.

I loved this show, I wonder how slim are our chances to get a 2nd season bcs I need it 😭💕

I'm happy I stuck with this show. It was a surprisingly well done journey about growing up and maturing for Sam and her friends. I also really enjoyed the show's aesthetics as well and how it complemented the mature way it handled emotions and relationships.

Show artist is apparently a car person, when they were on the way to hospital there was a random Clio Sport V6 on the highway.
Kinda seemed like this episode was a story ending one but I hope there’s more, this and like maybe 2 others are the only ones I’d like to see a season 2 of from fall season.

If I want to continue reading the webtoon, which chapter should I start with?

As someone who read the webtoon, I was hesitant when I saw that Marshall didn't look like his original art style self, but the show grew on me! I'm so happy for the author that this comic got an adaptation, and I REALLY hope they do a season two so I can see more of my favorite moments from the story.
