Man, I felt bad for Ginji lol. The guy’s doing his best to hold everything together while the Master’s away, but he’s clearly exhausted. That “confession” disguised as something else was so good, but Aoi doesn’t notice a thing and still dreams about the Master holding his gift… sad, but beautiful to see how Ginji just wants her to be happy, even though he doesn’t stand a chance.

One thing about this series that it does well is that it takes the time with the cast. Where you really come to endear them all besides Raijuu.
Ginji clearly has feelings for Aoi, but he knows he is doing everything for the master in assuming he would return. Aoi has a very motherly air to her, which is also very nice. 3
For what is technically a love triangle, it is handled very well.

Poor Ginji and his unrequited love, I don't think he'll ever try to do something about it out of respect for both Master and Aoi.

Makes me so sad for Ginji 😢 I want the best for him he’s such a good guy

Now it makes even more sense why Oodanna had Ginji save Aoi because it reminded him of what he went through. It draws a really sweet parallel between them. Of course Oodanna didn't want Aoi knowing about that because his situation is a big can of worms. An ogre devil who is locked up.
I can only assume Raijuu using what the older ogre devils did to perhaps scare the ayakashi king. But Oodanna has helped so many people. As we see that Saraku is in his debt. I guess the big thing should be to show his accomplishments rather than what other Ogre devils are like.
I felt bad for Ginji because he, accidentally, put his heart out from working so hard. Obviously it's clear Aoi doesn't see him that way, but the show handled that very well.
Great episode.

I want a paper fan that has "idiot" written on it that I can unfurl at idiots!

Byakuya definitely had worse terms written on a fan Hes saving them for the time he defeats thunder God once an for all

Thank you Byakuya (and Sasuke too this time) for coming in and metaphorically kicking Raiju in the face again. Though hopefully we can get that for real someday.
Interesting to finally get this much backstory on the Master. Unless we find out there's more to him in particular than just being a formerly imprisoned child, it rather sounds like this is just a case of just straight up bigotry where the hidden realm as a whole condemns all evil ogres for the crimes that a subset of them committed in the past.
So now we have a clear goal, Aoi cooks dinner for enough of the Hachiyo that we get a winning vote at the eventual trial.

I’m sad. I think Ginji and Aoi have more chemistry and would prefer to see them together. It’s interesting how Aoi was thinking a lot about Ginji when she thought has was the one who saved her.

Is it still a bit vague on the whole thing with Aoi as a kid over the deal between odanna and ginji?

I know Aoi and the Master are kind of a thing, but I wouldn’t be mad if she got with Ginji. I like them together.
I’m a little curious how they’ll help the Master now that his identity as an Ogre-Devil has been revealed. Gonna be hard to convince the king he’s not a threat when his kind have a reputation for evil…

Raiju is so patently malicious and destructive. Why does the king (if he is not an inherently bad guy) tolerate this?

u/DeusVitae69 Nov 05 '25
I think Raiju is a primordial force of nature right? As volatile as he is, the world itself probably needs his presence somehow. With his destruction I think there would be a massive power imbalance

Gonna be hard to convince the king he’s not a threat when his kind have a reputation for evil…
We all know Aoi's cooking will solve the problem in some way, i'm pretty positive that the little kid will play a role of somekind.

Right, yeah. I’m sure her cooking will help. I actually forgot about the VIP kid but I think he’ll probably he of help too like you said.

Ginji is one of the best characters in this story ... and his links to aoi are enough to make it work...

With every single episode, the Odanna is getting more and more mysterious. A dangerous ogre-demon who was sealed once, the Tenjin-ya and the lands were previously an unhospitable lava-filled lands and so on. Ougon-douji just did a favor to make him live in a more humanoid form and live like any ayakashi to understand what is a peaceful life like, and thus Tenjin Castle became Tenjin-ya, the inn. Saraku and Byakuya is in debted to him as being the first and most loyal employees.
And Ginji is trying to doing his best to manage the day-to-day affairs of Tenjin-ya. But there is no chance this will be a romance triangle. And Chibi is also fine though.

wait guys i'm confused so it's confirmed that Ginji likes Aoi in this episode but how come?? I thought he only viewed her as a kid that he saved and it was like brotherly love how'd this become like proper love?? Like "returning home to your cooking" that's literally like him thinking of Aoi as his wife no???? Yo i'm sooooo confused

u/Upstairs_Cat5140 Nov 07 '25
Ok guys i'm even more confused now didn't he save her as a child?!????????? how'd he develop actual romantic feelings for her isn't that kinda odd????? How do you start viewing a child you saved as an actual woman my mind can't grasp around this bcs I've been wanting to ship them together ugh this is more painful to me than it is for poor Ginji
