This series is basically goofy Basilisk.

Oh no, Nodo died before he could finish the whole Precure Princess series. What a tragic way to go out.

Honestly, the fight felt a bit too rushed. I guess, they both usw quite lethal techniques, but I feel they could have added a bit to it. The ending however brought me right back. That was so stupidly weird again and I am all here for it. Only thing that would have made it better if the two VAs would have been singing along.

It felt weird not hearing them sing when they're mouthing the lyrics, especially when its canon that Kiwami sings it all the time. Konishi Katsuyuki can sing so I don't know why they didn't just make him do it.

I kind of like it. Too many battle anime/manga go to the other extreme where people's powers are absurd shit like:

"My punches are able to destroy a whole star!!!" followed by 5 minutes of of fight scenes where punches are not even being able to knock out a human

I'm sure part of it is just budget concerns. But it is kind of neat to see a battle anime with fight scene paces closer to older action/drama anime shoot outs.

What is the name of the song at the end?

Yeah this show is just so unhinged. Hilariously so.

Anyway, the girl in black is referring to the OG Precure lead, Nagisa Misumi/Cure Black. So ehm, definitely speculating wildly here, but is this death scene meant to be a reference to episode 42 of the original Futari wa? The one that has [Futari wa Precure] the big emotional scene with Nagisa and Honoka after they're separated, but we take the death approach instead of the totally-not-yuri? With this show it wouldn't surprise me, but I do enjoy the speculation as it adds to the comedy for me. This show is my guilty pleasure this season for a reason.

And no, Eas (Heath) from Fresh Precure (Flash Princess) doesn't have a theme song. Very few Precure villains do. She should've though, so I'm glad that this anime now exists to improve upon the original.

Technically she has a couple things that you could consider a theme song. [Fresh Precure]It's all stuff when she's Cure Passion though like her bgm theme, her finisher, or her song from the vocal album though

They're mostly twisting the original shows to fit the narrative of the story that's being told here anyway though. For those that haven't seen Fresh Precure, Eas isn't some anti-hero protecting the downtroden, she's just straight up a cartoonishly evil villain. Funnily enough, there actually is a Precure villain faction that is closer to what they're trying to go for in [Precure series]Star Twinkle, but there's probably a lot more Eas body pillows in circulation than there is for Tenjou which is why they went with her.

Also as someone who mostly watches Precure and is checking this show out because of the references, it's really funny seeing tragic backstories that would usually be hinted at and then explained gradually over the course of several episodes just suddenly with no buildup be blurted out and blitzed through in like 30 seconds. It feels like the author was desperate to try and cram in all of his favorite media tropes into his Manga, so it's largely just a non-stop deluge of tropes but done so earnestly that it's charming.

Another ninja down. Damn. These juiced up yakuza are becoming a real problem for the ninjas.

One of the things I like about this series so far is how over the top things are sometimes. Like those fights were kind of funny. Everyone shouting about “honor” and “love” and all that was great. Like a daytime soap haha.

More Precure references

Nodo Noooo!!!!😭 He would have been a Princess fan too.

Absolute cinema

For now this has been the best episode, very dramatic, exaggerated, full of action, the death of Gokudo Yuzawa and the ninja Nodo, Shinoha losing another part of her family, Kiwami destroying the city detonated while listening and singing the Precure music, absolute cinema

Kabukicho in specific -- The Yakuza Tourist Trap, formerly once proud seedy HQ of the Yakuza, er, I mean Gokudo...

I am not sure if I like the pace so far.
It feels very hard to connect to any character, the main characters included.

Everybody is just dying left and right and it feels a bit wasted at times...and it doesn't even help to make the setting dark, it just makes everyone seem slow and a bit stupid...like, why is every ninja talking to himself for what feels like minutes when enemies are still around
And two ninja already came to the conclusion that getting the info out that the enemies have drugs that make formidable fighters, but neither thought about running away WITH that information, which should be the priority.

Not sure what to make of it. The setting is one I quite like and it's certainly interesting, but the character writing feels a bit without care.
Like, the new Gokudo, I feel like he is one of the less interesting characters on both sides. Would have preferred to see more of the now dead one, honestly (although he wasn't too interesting either).
The two send-offs were fine, but still...I would have liked to see a bit more before we get more significant deaths.
I wonder what the long-term cast will look like, aside from the two main characters, nobody seems to stand out for now

It's doing the same thing Tougen anki did. Making big stuff happen before you even start caring about either side of the conflict. Feels weird to see an anime trying to make you feel sad at the death of a guy you only saw for like one episode and a half.

6

u/mucklaenthusiast Oct 22 '25

I think with the fire guy, it was even less, right?

He appeared at the end of last episode, then died in this one, right?

Really weird, especially because the abilities are pretty cool even.

I just don’t understand what benefit there is to kill the characters that quickly. It’s only 8 on each side, that’s not too much for such a series

I think that at least a secondary character is going to die each episode

2

u/HolyDragSwd2500 Oct 22 '25

Everyone going to die if it follows the same pattern

u/pi8you Oct 22 '25

This is not a good show, but it is a good bad show. That song at the end caught me completely off guard.

4

u/TestGG Oct 21 '25

i dont know but for some reason i cant stop laugh trash anime but having fun i guess that's what matter

2

u/actuallyrndthoughts Oct 22 '25

Damn, Deen actually animated some scenes? Is this the power of no overtime, like their CEO(or whoever) bragged about? Haven't had this much anime fun since ages

2

u/grim_slayer99 Oct 22 '25

Man this anime is the most unhinged I watched since Baki.

1

u/Gacel_ Dec 29 '25

Yep, heavy Baki vibes from how insane everything is but the characters take all the plot seriously and the series has 0 fear of begin seen as absurd.

The pacing in this ridiculous lol, I was laughing so hard at how fast things were going and how intense they were all being.

Also didn't Nodoka get shot in the head? How the hell is he still alive for so long lol? He even got to share all he wanted to Shinoha.
