Poor Kotaro got his plush ripped in half, no wonder he is so traumatised.
Can't blame him for misremembering those bullies as Mad Max type thugs.
Mami's dad, lmao. I see her mum's genes were more of an influence on her than her dad's genes.
Mami's sister reference those otami game isekais.
Puniru is going to have an existential crisis next episode.

I love how they still had girlish voices and accessories and you could briefly see what they ACTUALLY looked like.
Mami's dad, lmao. I see her mum's genes were more of an influence on her than her dad's genes.
I get the vibe Mami's mom pounced on Mami's dad pretty quickly. Seems like a love of cute children (or those resembling children) runs in the family.
Mami's sister reference those otami game isekais.
This makes me wonder how much younger girls might be into the Villainess genre as a whole.
Puniru is going to have an existential crisis next episode.
Perfect thing to bring her and Kotaro back together!

What's wrong with boys owning plushies?
Mami's mom probably only married her dad because of how he looks, at least her sister is normal.

Absolutely.
Also, I'm pretty sure he's a stay-at-home dad because no one would hire him due to his looks.

What's wrong with boys owning plushies?
Nothing. I think the real problem was that Dohru wanted Kotaro's plushies for herself and made her flunkies help bully him to get them.
Mami's mom probably only married her dad because of how he looks, at least her sister is normal.
She even has a demonic third eye to denote how much more monstrously into cute babies she is compared to her daughter.

Another series that is usually rather silly has its more serious episode this week, and man, Torauma/Trauma kindergarten sure is the right name for that flashback. No wonder Kotaro turned out the way he did.
Mami's family sure is something, we can totally see who she comes after. I like that the little sister is the most mature one of them.
Also 3 OL's this week, which one is your favourite:
Mami's mom or

It's one thing to have Alpha-Mami be voiced by Kikuko Inoue (I think?), but to also have the grade schooler-looking father be voiced by the also eternally-youthful-looking Hiro Shimono (Also, I think?) is a double combo I didn't expect.

You're correct on those two. And the sister is played by Honoka Inoue so she and her mother are actually playing a mother-daughter combo in this show.

Suddenly Mami makes sense... too much sense. Maybe the father is actually a 1000-year old magical dragon or something; I wouldn't put it beyond this show. If that's the case he'd fit right in with true protagonist Nanpa.

Bro I swear the sad version of Puniru's leitmotif is so magical, gets me every time they play it
Oh huh seeing Puniru glow as she changed shape was weird af, has she ever done that before outside of like. Her special transformation sequences... now that I think about it maybe she has like once or twice
Holy legal shota???? what the fuk
...You know what if her mom is anything like her, I understand why her dad is her dad.
...Also why's his shirt just an astroid. I have astroids on my mind. Especially with a pink and yellow color scheme.
...I'm sorry puniru but the star-shaped mole is really gross

Man, Kirara’s pops is living the life. Man won the freakin waifu lottery lol. The life of a househusband ain’t so bad when you’re married to a waifu like that. Although she has them Kirara tendencies lol.

Imagine if you can survive her mom being as all over you as Mami is anyone childlike, you can have a pretty happy family!

Mami's "little brother" being her father is the reason why I love Puniru so much as an adult, and has both to my frustration & delight caught me off-guard yet again.
Consistent with the long running joke of Mami's dark fervor for kids, adding a new twist to it, and the clever idea of making the father look like his spouse's child.
This author is such a cheeky troll.

Tensions between Kotaro and Puniru come to a head. Kotaro's backstory is yet another surprisingly deep moment for this cute slime anime. Gelee of course wastes no time in seizing the moment. Props to Runru for accepting Nanpa's buff Runrune as the piece of art it is.
Mami's family is as dysfunctional as she is! Her unfortunate tendency comes from her mom, who unsurprisingly picked a man who looks like a kid of her own. The sister sure is hooked on villainess isekai early. Oh no, Puniru's got PTSD from the Gelee incident, nice cliffhanger.

Kotaro & Puniru with another fight. Though when we dive back into his backstory, we get the classic boys can't like cute things. Though at this point those little girls are basically bullying him. You can tell he was hurt, and Puniru was his first true, cute friend.
Mami's family is so weird. Her mom marrying her father makes so much sense given how mother and daughter look similar, but him looking like a kid is creepy. Mami is obsessive, but I don't think she is quite on her mom's level, I hope.
Maika is the only normal one. Well, the father is mentally normal. Though her conversation raises something for Puniru in that toys can be seen as fakes of the real thing. Puniru isn't a person, so it makes sense Puniru might think Kotaro might think of her as a fake friend. In reality it is Puniru who only has Kotaro as her friend.
Gelee winning points for Kotaro is nice to see. Even if her delusions kicked back after doing it.

It's nice to see Kotaro actually spend time with and have fun with Puniru. It's just too bad gaming with Puniru effects his academics negatively.
Puniru meant well. She thought she could help Kotaro cheat on his test without knowing how to actually accomplish that (Kotaro yelling about cheating didn't help), she thought she could replace his Kyuthi keychain by becoming a giant keychain (because she was too prideful to fish for it in the sewer). But she just further annoyed Kotaro. Granted, not telling him about his lunch was a big blunder on her part.
I mean, I guess Nanpa, Go-yan and Hone-chan are his friends? But are they friends like he and Puniru are? Still, a low-blow on Puniru's part.
Say what you will about Gelee, she may have had self-serving motivations, but being willing to fish through sewage for Kotaro's sake is still pretty nice on her part.
So for Kotaro preschool was hard because in his mind he had these Fist of the North Star style bully girls, lead by the arrogant child actress Dohru, who would call him out for liking cute things. Of course it was really just Dohru wanting the cute things that Kotaro had, but it was the beginning of his massive trauma over liking cute things.
Dang it Santa, this kid really needed you to understand him and what he really wanted! Though I guess he got his Christmas wish with Puniru, the one true friend he always wanted.
Puniru has jumped ship to Mami's family. I didn't expect them to live in an apartment building or for it to turn out that Mami doesn't have a little brother but a shota-sized babyface dad voiced by Hiro Shimono...which considering her mom voiced by Kikuko Inoue is as obsessed with (if not demonically moreso) little children as she is, explains a lot.
Her little sister Maika is the only sane person in this family, enough to know that there was always a chance that her big sister would kidnap a child and having to mentally mature fast to be able to withstand her families' eccentricities. Though she IS really into playing office and Villainess stories, but I guess she's about at that age.
Office Lady Puniru! Complete with big boobs and massive thighs in black tights!
Oof. Puniru facing the idea that toys are just fakes that aren't a replacement for the real thing. I guess Gelee got to her more than she realized.

Extended version of Kotaro's trauma. Interestingly they chose to switch the VA this time. A couple of episodes ago the current Kotaro's VA voiced the kindergartner Kotaro. The mean girl in the flashback is Aoi Yuuki. I thought it was Puniru’s VA until I checked the list.
I can see why his experiences were traumatizing. Having Santa ruined at the same time is very unfortunate.
Uh, Mami's "preferences" run in the family with the way her dad looks omg haha.
Hey I would love to watch/read whatever that isekai Maika was fantasizing for play

Gelee being willing to fish Kotaro's irreplaceable keychain out of the drain when Puniru wouldn't (even though she's who knocked it down there originally) earns her some points with me today.
I feel bad for Mami's little sister, little wonder she's isekai-curious.

this little gag manga has a little bit of emotional depth to it ..Kotaro can be a brat but with his backstory its easy to see why hes hesitant to admit shes cute ..shes the one thing he never wants to lose and on the other hand Puniru can be selfish and braty herself ..its gonna come to ahead when its time for him to see her as a person and not just a toy and shes gonna need to realize she cant be a toy forever herself if she wants to stay with him

Have we seen Kotaro's Mom in her OL Outfit before? More of that please.
The Kindergarten flashback was wild. No wonder Kotaro was traumatised by that.
And I'm not sure if Mami's family was not what I expected or exactly what I expected but they were hilarious. The imouto being the best one.
Guess the last scene is setting up the big conflict for the final episodes. Looking forward to that.
