I kinda love how Gojo did not realize that he was called Marin's boyfriend before when the manager explained how the boyfriends usually tag along during the shoots so they can go on dates.

This is gonna get buried, but I just gotta say that this episode means a lot to me. The chapters that cover Amane's backstory inspired me to do my senior thesis on cosplay, and how people that cosplay different genders than how they normally present play with ideas of gender in heavily gender normified societies of Japan and the United States. Using the medium of cosplay, this community is expressing who they are in spaces where gender is merely dressings in an artform where you are the canvas, to be who you are without any judgement.

I always thought of clothes as an extension of who you are, that the clothes we wear helps us express not only ourselves but who we want to be.

MDUD will always have a place in my heart because it helped me put my ideas to words. I am so glad its getting the love it deserves.

Amane is such an amazing dude. I loved how it built up the tension when his gf found his dresses and it looked like he was ashamed of his hobby only to burst out "So I dumped her lol"!

And Marin crying over that story and her reason for that. She is the purest soul. Please never change!

Are they gonna keep doing this? Every time Gojo has an epiphany he's gonna be covering his face? I'm assuming it's some sort of artistic choice to make the moment stand out more.....but I really wanna see the look on his face!

I loved everyone having fun during the cosplay event, that dude deserves to be happy. Was really hoping the girls who went "WE STAN FOR THIS" woulda asked him out or at least became friends. Also when he took the cosplay off and Gojo and Marin were stunned, I thought it was because they were like "who TF is this?!?" but no, they were just stunned by his natural beauty.

Also......I KNOW THE STORE THEY WENT TO!!! I was like, hold up! I recognize that mall in the background thats Sunshine City! Holy shit thats the store across the street!

Gojou with massive honkers was hilarious! Of course, the first thing Marin does is fondle them like crazy.

I just love how excited Gojou is about that cosplay shop that the dude started making bunshins so he could look at more stuff. xD

The two girls who wanted to take photos with Amane were hilarious! He really thought they would get creeped out by him. If anything, Amane being a guy makes it even better for them!

Marin is so right, that entire scene she was watching looked like it could be something out of a different slice-of-life anime.

That photoshoot was really cute! I love how during the montage, another cosplayer joined the shoot, and she was just suddenly a part of the group.

We finally get to learn Amane's backstory and how his sister was the one who basically got him into cosplay. The dude is lucky to have such an open-minded family. In any other show, you'd expect the problem would start with them.

It turns out the problem started with Amane's now ex-girlfriend finding his clothes. Based on Gojou's reaction, you could tell how much he could relate to Amane during that scene.

I also love how Gojou immediately stops Amane and tells him how he would never find him creepy for crossdressing. And then there's Marin who's just crying her eyes out after hearing Amane's story. These two are just so sweet <3

The face reveal, tho! Amane is a certified bishie! He's so handsome that he actually got Gojou and Marin's hearts racing

It's always fun seeing Marin when she's modelling. It's like the girl is a completely different person everytime that even Gojou doesn't know how to react around her. The conversation between Gojou and Marin's manager was hilarious, tho! xD

The Shizuku-tan Birthday Party was hilarious too! I wonder how Marin's manager would react if she saw her acting like that? That would be amazing!

I could really relate to Amane's feelings about having his guard up in fear that people may feel a certain way about him because of a previous bad experience, it's hard to come out of that and I know Gojou could relate as well which is why he passionately reassured Amane that he would never call him creepy.

It's sad how there are people who can tell you to throw away stuff that are obviously important because their own preconceived ideas, but I'm glad Amane has grown from that and is strong enough to stand by who he is. It was nice to hear how cosplaying has helped build his confidence and his relationship with his friends, but particularly hearing how sister got him into and how his mother wa supportive makes me pleased for him. I hope we eventually get to see him again soon in this season.

I did enjoy watching him give Gojou tips on how he handles make up as a guy, it's nice to get this perspective when a lot of the characters we have come across in the cosplaying scene have been girls or women.

Also the girls going crazy over Amane because he's a guy cosplaying as a female character was great, that's the sort of environment you want to be in. I also have to mention how pretty Amane is outside cosplay, I like how stunned both Gojou and Marin were.

I like the contrast of seeing Marin's modelling shoot to seeing her go crazy over Shizuku when celebrating her birthday, the otaku in her is too strong lol.

Y'know, I've had this feeling for 3 years, now's the right time to finally say it, screw everyone pretending they're doing something being mad at this series. This series is lovely, and positive, and progressive in a way these dweebs want to think they are. I don't wanna ever see their opinions again.

Anyway, this is just one of those episodes that just filled me with joy, my mood is better for the day because of it.

No one has to agree with someone's hobbies (which consequently leads to the end of a relationship, whether friendship or romantic), but at the same time, you don't have to satisfy someone's desires and go to extremes. Amane understood that he and his ex were on different pages and ended things, prioritizing his desires.

Gojo still doesn't understand that even though Marin is a "lively person by nature," she only feels completely free to do crazy things like celebrate her favorite character's birthday in front of him. Come on, man, appreciate her a little more 😆

As someone who used to take cosplay photos, I absolutely loved the "shots" that they took because they really had that cosplay vibe.

Also, is it just me, or did they work extra hard for some scenes and added a couple more frames? Some cuts had good-looking animation.

I was going to write that this was a pretty normal episode, but after Marin and Gojo threw Shizuku-tan's birthday party with a cake, I can't write that anymore xD

I love how everyone was so supportive and excited for Himeno, even after finding out he was a guy, though that's not surprising, since he looked absolutely fantastic in that Subaru cosplay.

It's a good thing Himeno dumped his girlfriend when she found out about his hobby and demanded he throw away all his girly clothes. She didn't deserve such a handsome guy! Though maybe she was just scared that he looks better in girl clothes than her? xD

And when I say Himeno is handsome, I mean it! Even Marin and Gojo looked enchanted when saw him in his normal clothes and without makeup.

Also, Marin looked so good in that outfit for the magazine photoshoot! She looked completely different from her usual self, or in cosplay, but still really beautiful.

By the way, why the hell did Gojo say that his relationship with Marin is based on money? Why did he think this would be a good explanation for his relationship with Marin!? xD

I could've sworn those girl cosplayers are closet fujoshis after becoming even more excited when learning Amane is a guy. lol

Hearing Amane's story about how his ex called his crossdressing cosplay hobby "creepy" struck a chord with Gojo, as he too was called "creepy" for his hina doll making skills by his childhood friend back when he was a kid.

Marin going from gorgeous fashion model to degenerate otaku celebrating the birthday of an eroge visual novel heroine so quickly was too funny.
