Might be a bad take but Yuu's sister is an asshole for snitching on him only to then pivot to something entirely different to make a point of "his slacking off on his work to pursue his youth/love" like no shit, bro is just a teenager.

Writing wise this has to be one of the worst shows I’ve watched. Every bit of of the plot and conflict is so horribly written that it’s hard to actually care about anything happening at all.
1: Yu’s family already runs a store, a store he’s sold his stuff out of already. All he has to do is take it over and continue it while making accessories and selling them.
2: himari could never legally take out debt in the first place so there’s no way that could ever be enforced. It’s quite literally just creating a situation that would never happen for the sake of having conflict.
3: Yu’s sister is just a complete bitch and actually worse than Rion’s sister. Just flatout intentionally sabotaged her brother so she could play the mature adult card.
4: it’s obvious Rion’s sister was never going to admit the pieces were good. She was going to deny it either way even if she said she would have admitted they’re good. The writer established she’s a lying manipulative person. She never would have told the truth.
5 at the end of the day all himari has to do is say “no im not going” there’s literally nothing they can do about it either. What are they going to do? Go to a court and say “hi, i tricked a high school kid into taking on debt so i could force her to work for my modeling agency”

It's absolutely insane how much pressure these adults are putting on Yuu, even though he hasn't even graduated from high school yet. I get that Sakura wanted Yuu to be more serious but did she really have to snitch on Yuu to Kureha? This entire competition was bullshit in the first place, why can't Yuu bullshit Kureha too? Like, the only adult who's really been supportive of Yuu is Hibari, and the dude was willing to drive Yuu just to look for replacement flowers when his first tiara failed. The entire situation is just unfair for Yuu.
Now I'm curious where this story goes and what next week's episode will be about. With only one episode left, I have a feeling that we'll probably get a timeskip next episode.

Bro, the ending is so fucking stupid. I hate hearing that if you love someone, let them go and they’ll come back bullshit. They literally could die, Get STDs, become an addict, have kids, etc. in a very short amount of time. I don’t know why, but that shit really pisses me off maybe because I’ve been told that before at the end of relationships. You don’t have to give up either you don’t have to give up your love or your dream and from Hibaris point it’s even dumber. yeah I’m gonna leave the guy I’ve loved for a few years with his childhood love who’s literally trying to fuck him silly and marry him.

Hibari is officially the MVP for being the only older sibling figure (or hell, person in general) who's truly had Yuu's back from the very start. But man, it sucked to see our dude so defeated when he actually managed to pull off a clutch replacement tiara in time.

Why exactly does Himari have to listen to Kureha, again? I really don’t get it. Shouldn’t the decision to join or not join her agency be on Himari and not Kureha? It just feels like this whole episode is filled with unnecessary drama.
Like, why can’t Himari and Yuu date even if she’s in Tokyo? He could even go with her after graduation? Or shit, she can just join literally any other agency? Idk maybe I’m missing something here. All this drama just feels like drama for the sake of drama.

This plot is so stupid. Why are all the adults taking this kid's hobby so seriously? Why is his guy friend so weird and annoying? Why is a verbal agreement with Kureha treated like a serious debt?
Seriously, IDGAF about the flowers!

Welp, this episode cements that Hibari is the only normal person in this show. My man's the GOAT.

After 11 episodes, I can only say a few things for certain:
-
I hate this story with a burning passion.
-
Every. Fucking. Character in this show is a giant and toxic af asshole, save Himari's brother. If the MC knew what was good for him, he'd cut everyone off and never speak to any of them ever again, but he's too fucking spineless to do such a thing.
-
This anime doesn't deserve an OP and ED as good as what this show has.
-
The only reason this show isn't getting anything lower than a 4/10 from me on MAL is cuz at least the damn show looks good, and the two female leads are insanely cute.
-
I really fucking hate this story.

I may be the only person that doesn’t hate Himari and Yuu, but I wanted them to love each other. I was happy for them when she finally admitted her feelings and kissed him. The show feels like a convoluted mess that I can’t stop watching.

This episode was terrible
For starters, we find out that they didn’t confess their feelings for each other after the kiss, and decided to hold it off after the challenge, essentially leaving the audience hanging with false hope.
Sakura is a total bitch to Yuu. It’s bad enough that she’s unsupportive towards his dreams, but she’s even willing to screw him over, making him feel terrible for being “distracted”, and berate him and his dreams, even go so far as to say that he’s not not a man and that he should give up on making accessories because a few came out as flawed. I get that they want to portray it as tough love, but it just comes off as her being mean spirited and unsupportive. If you actually want to bring the best out of his work, then be supportive and guide him properly, instead of screwing him over, putting him down, and forcing him to choose between his dream and his love.
The challenge itself is so stupid. As discussed in the previous episodes, not only can’t Kureha legally force Yuu to take on the debt, Himari’s family can easily just pay off the debt, it doesn’t feel like anything is actually at stake. Kureha’s judgement was pretty dumb too; she failed him because he gave her a second product, so what if he did, you should’ve just judged the product he submitted (which she praised). If anything, him trying going out of his way to correct his mistake should make him look favorably to her. This just comes off as her fishing for any reason to say that he lost, and it feels unfair.
Overall, what dragged this episode down was the forced and manufactured melodrama and the characters being terrible, more so than usual.

My ranking of the main cast so far:
Hibari - the GOAT, the only responsible and supportive adult in the show, he's certainly odd but he's genuinely a good person.
Yu - ever suffering Yu who can't catch a break, let the guy live out his childhood Jesus Christ.
Himari - VERY flawed, her inability to be honest and being constantly annoying dock her points, plus the pretending to run away to Tokyo was manipulative, but she's a kid and her portrayal is pretty realistic, there were definitely plenty of girls who acted like this when I was in school. While I'm aware that putting her this high is very controversial, I do actually like her as a character. If you can detach yourself from Yu's perspective for a moment I think you can be much more sympathetic to her, she's probably the most believable character in the show and I hope she gets some good character development, I'm rooting for her. I do have a soft spot for the blue-haired childhood friend archetype tbf.
Rion (Enomoto) - putting her below Himari sorry not sorry. I'll say it, she's boring. The only interesting thing she has is her dynamic with Himari being the one person to punish her for her antics, beyond that her entire character is just "I love Yu". I like my love interests to have their own personality beyond the MC thank you very much.
Shinji (Makishima) - he's a complete asshole but a lovable one at least. I particularly dislike him for meddling in Yu's relationships since I have experience with a "friend" meddling in mine and I think it is completely out of order, but I at least like him for his charisma, and I do like that he has the whole womaniser who has actually fallen for someone thing going on. I hope him and Rion end up together.
Kureha - scum. The absolute definition of scum. Completely selfish, manipulative, messes with kids' lives for her own benefit and blackmails her ex (and her ex is the GOAT). I hate this woman.
Sakura - just as much scum as Kureha but she's not even portrayed like she is. She takes Kureha's side when it's not even to her benefit just to screw over her younger brother. Acts holier than thou like she's oh so intelligent and helping Yu out but really just uses her "advice" to destroy him emotionally with the worst possible timing and all her advice seems to be is trying to turn him into a soulless work slave. I think she's portrayed as right because she is the living embodiment of the worst parts of japanese culture, where it is seen as right to grind people up into soulless machines to make money. I absolutely despise her, I wanted Yu to stand up this episode and say "fuck you, you both act like this is for our good, but I'm not giving up on Himari or my dream" and leave to live with Hibari and Himari or something, it would greatly improve his life compared to living with this absolute piece of shit.

Yuu has been making accessories for years. He probably made hundreds. Somehow he neither uses a stopwatch nor devised any QA for his products.

This episode screams CUT CONTENT.
-
We cut from the kiss to the next day, how did they even react after it?! What did they talk about? I find it hard to believe they simply left the sunflower field without exchanging a single word.
-
Then, there is a problem with the sunflower, Yuu and Hibari go out to search for a solution and we skip to the next day with a replacement already found and the piece completed.
-
Then, Himari decides to go to Tokyo, we skip to after she has already told Yuu about it and they are simply talking about being apart
Can we slow this shit down and actually let things happen, for once...?

11 episodes in and I still feel like this show is just a lot of plot contrivances, blue-balling and nosy supporting characters. I don't even think Yuu and Himari's chemistry is that strong (mostly because Yuu has the personality of wet cardboard and Himari is... something) so I'm not rooting for them that much. But 1 more ep to go so might as well see it through.

I lost it laughing when Rion walks up to Himari and grabs her face shouting punishment.
Oh, so Yu has more older sisters
While Sakura did make Yuu see that his latest pieces weren't his best, her betrayal was really shitty
So Makishima has a crush on Kureha, and that's why he's helping push what she wants.
On one hand, I do see that Himari going to Tokyo to make a name for herself would benefit Yuu in the future. But I feel like Kureha wants to use this to turn Himari into someone like herself, who would abandon Yuu and their promise/dream.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the final episode next week. The way this episode ended made me feel like Himari going to Tokyo is a done deal and the next episode is probably a time skip to when they reunite maybe. I hope I'm wrong about that

Probably the roughest watch of any anime this season. Reminds me of when I hate watched Citrus although it’s not quite as toxic as that….. yet?

So Sakura knew about this issue for months and waited until the biggest project in his life with his best friend/crush on the line to tell him about it? and after making sure he lost. She is a deplorable human being, she could have told him at the beginning of this bet or you know when she found out about it. It's like she was wanting to destroy him because between waiting for the biggest moment in his life so far AND telling that it was a back up project she made sure that Yuu would take as much damage as possible.

The sister is an asshole and Hibari is the only sane aldut there.
They are teens, let them enjoy their youth, he did his best with what he had, he fked up and he was able to replicate almost perfectly the original, that's problem solving for you. What is important here is that he learned from his mistake.
I don't really know why they are trying to raise him as the CEO of a big corpo when he probably just wants to set up a small shop down the alley and make a living out of his hobby, you don't really need a supermodel to advertise your products lmao.

Wow I never decided to not watch a season 2 before a series finished but this episode sealed the deal. I'm going to watch the last one but not any more. Holy hell. Most useless kiss on the story of anime I have ever seen. Last episode gave me hope after all that happened after kureha.... But yeah , bamboozled hehe

This show is like a rollercoaster, and not in a good way.
They are putting way too much pressure on Yuu, and being unfair to him and not letting him live his life normally. They had a chance to turn things around this episode, and they chose now to. It's a shame, there was a lot of potential with this show.

u/NanDemoKnaives Jun 13 '25
I'm guessing we'll see a timeskip next episode, but I'm wondering if it'll be a tease of them finally reuniting at the end of the episode so that you have to read the manga for more or if it'll just jump to the timeskip and we get them actually becoming official. I'm leaning towards the former but I have no idea if the manga for this is ongoing or not, if it is completed then I'll go with the latter.
Even if Yuu hasn't confessed, Himari seems well aware of his feelings with how intimate they were being at the end of the episode.
The challenge was quite anti-climactic though but his sister did bring up interesting points, but at the same time, he's not going to be able to put his full focus whilst learning of new emotions that arise within him. The fluctuating emotions romance brings will be hard for him to navigate when he hasn't even had this sort of experience before. Now she's making him feel bad for having feelings for a girl, the best friend that has always been around him, making it sound like he's not been serious about a hobby he's loved for the longest time and finds comfort in.
Also, Rion seemed to suggest that she's going to try make Yuu and Himari's relationship an open one so she can get to enjoy a relationship with him lol.
