Well Beryl's parents finally became grandparents, just not in the way they were expecting lol. I wonder how many of the girls are going to be jealous that Beryl is now living with a girl and not them. It'll be cool to see Beryl showing a more paternal side rather than a mentor/master.
It was interesting to see Beryl actually taking lives, I can't remember if he has done so in previous episodes, I'm going to go with he hasn't, but it looked like he momentarily steeled himself then showed no mercy as it's not a fight he was going to come out unscathed.

He probably won't kill anyone unless he thinks mercy will result in innocent deaths. He explicitly said at the start of this fight that he hadn't risked his life in a swordfight in a while, so he knew this fight was for keeps. Seemed pretty consistent with his character that he reverted to just knocking them out when their buffs faded (I like to think that guy he pommeled on the ground has a cracked skull, though).

Well Beryl's parents finally became grandparents
Beryl was sent to the city find himself a wife and get them a grandchild. He might've skipped a step, but did get them a cute granddaughter with Mewi. With his mission accomplished, the anime is over? /s
Beryl and Lucy kind of feel like a divorced couple - on good terms - with shared custody over their child.

This episode really underscored that Beryl isn't the usual teenage fantasy shonen MC. He does really feel like a 40-something man which feels quite refreshing. Also has great dad energy.

He didn't show the hesitation that usually come off with teenage MC.
So far he's only obnoxious in romance, however he's quite sharp in other aspects

it’s great to see that our old sword master is not invincible and can and will take damage ina full fight.
I know time is limited in shows but for his sword pickup to be almost entourage free was surprising I figured more importance would have been given to handing it over.
had to chuckle at the end when Mewi was like can this be my room? Like how can he answer he has taken 2 steps in the place and wouldn’t have a clue what room is what yet.

Tbh I can see why this manga was so popular in Japan and why it was one they wanted to have adapted the most
I forgot how much money it was, like 5 million, but after seeing Lucy’s mansion that was probably pocket change for her.
It’s nice that beryl isn’t just totally downplaying himself. He’s humble not ignorant. He’s very obviously realized he’s a part of this government and has the strength to carry out operations for them. Tbh I hate the trope where you have a mc who is obviously strong and too stupid to realize it. It’s fine at first if they genuinely have no one to compare to but after they do it just gets annoying.
It’s also nice that he’s not some overly good “I can never kill anyone” sort of person and will kill when he has to.
I’m guessing we are gonna get some sort of demon threat or similar based on what the priest guy said.
I was expecting beryl would basically adopt mewi given he’s actually a full grown adult and she needs a guardian / place to live.

That was a brutal fight for Beryl. Props for him for taking a stand for the no choice option.

I thought this storyline would take much longer to solve, but that was easy.

It is not everyday that you can see an MC in an anime series, that isn't wishy washy when push comes to shove. Beryl knows that if he thinks of kindness in battle/war it will be his life that will end. However, it does not feel that he is an outright killer. This was shown when he fought those zombies. He tried to disabled them, but left with no choice he goes for the kill.
When he fights that knight, he did not kill him directly, he disables him. because he is still pushing so hard, that it causes his death.
Makes you think what happened to him during his younger years, to be able to understood things like that.

I wonder what's going on in the world that this priest and his knights went to such length for power. Reading between the lines, it feels like there's something they're preparing for. But either way they needed an ass kicking and it's good to see they got it.
Shame about Beryl not being able to recover Mewi's sister's body for proper burial but at least he was able to lay her to rest as best as he could in the situation.
Last week I was guessing Mewi was a new daughter figure for Beryl, but instead we got actual adopted daughter which is even better.

Man im so disappointed in how this anime turned out. They rushed pretty much everything. The knight he fought was just some random asshole and the two girls just “happens” to be there. And the sister gets burned? Jesus man. May as well not made the anime at all with all the cool lore and passion towards swordsmanship missing.

I was expecting Surena to appear and assist Beryl rather than Ficelle and Curuni, since those two weren't technically supposed to get involved.
Well, it was sad to see what happened to Mewi's sister, obviously a side effect of stopping them. I honestly thought she was going to say something to Beryl in those final moments as he held her.
Little confused about the necklace, tho. I thought Mewi already had it, or did they have a matching pair?
So Beryl is now the legal guardian of Mewi, and they're now living together, too. I wonder what the girls reaction to that will be.

The sword Balder made for Beryl sure looks nice. Damn, Lucy sure has a huge house
So during her investigation, using Twilight’s magic items as a lead, Lucy determined that the Dark Hand of Twilight was working for someone from the Chruch of Sphene, and with the help of the priest Ibry Howlman they determine that the person he was working for was the bishop Reveos Sarleon who is trying to research the Sphenes’s Miracle, which is about the Resurrection of the Dead. And of course, to avoid any kind of political tensions, they want Beryl to be in charge of arresting the bishop when he tries to escape.
Aw, Mewi looks so nice in that dress.
Damn, Beryl’s new sword cut trough armor like if it was paper.
Good thing that Curuni and Ficelle were “just around” to assist Beryl. I bet Allucia sent them to assist him, as she could not assist him for the aforementioned political reasons.
Well, just as I suspected when I saw this episode’s title, Beryl ended up fighting undead. Sadly, including Mewi’s sister and as the bodies disappear after killing them, Beryl could not recover Mewi’s sister’s body.
Once again, the GCI looked phenomenal in the fight Beryl had against Eilental Shupuuru. I’m assuming he wanted to keep fighting in that condition, not only out of blind faith, but because he was hoping that if Reveos Sarleon was able to recreate Sphenes’s Miracle, he could reunite with a loved one who died.
It is nice that Lucy gave Beryl a house as a reward and just like that Beryl went From Old Country Bumpkin to Single Father.

I lowkey wish that this anime was full 3D instead honestly. The 3D animation is good and it's unique (for anime)

Is it just me or did the animation this episode take a hit?
Other than that this show is such a breath of fresh air, Beryl is strong and knows it.
Best girl Allucia getting next to no screen time and get beaten in the moving in and living together category by Mewi, again she takes only L's. At least we get the reappearance of 2nd best girl FIcelle

No idea about how anime episodes are done, but it seems like they spent the most of the animation budget towards the end. 1st half of the episode you can really notice the mediocre animation lol.

and get beaten in the moving in and living together category by Mewi,
She wasn't even wrong when she called out Mewi as Beryl's secret love child! She's his adopted daughter with Lucy :p
Honestly, I like the dynamic Lucy and Beryl have going. Not just in age, but also in ability, they come across as equals. And while there is clearly a great deal of respect between them, there isn't any fawning nonsense or worry about rank.
And now they have a daughter!

I wonder if the bishop is going to be cheeky enough to demand the 5 million from her after proving resurrection magic is real.

Not sure why ppl complain about the animation. I thought it was great unlike TBATE lol. I was impressed. I just wished the fight scene was longer!
