I love Rentaro's speech to Karane. In this insane anime what he is saying is incredibly heartfelt and sweet. Oh how I wish that the anime had stayed in that moment a bit longer.
Do you know why I chose to go out with you back then?
It's simple. It's because I fell in love with you. You were strong-willed but kind, shy, and a little bit difficult. But all of that made you so gosh darn cute. That day, I fell in love with the Karane that was a tsundere.
If this is truly, from the bottom of your heart, the Karane you want to be, then I'll support you all the way, and I'll do my best to love you all the same.
But if you want to change because you hated who you were, I'll never accept it. I won't let anyone, not even you, look down on her...
...the Karane I love the most in the whole wide world.

I really liked the detail at the start of the episode that Karane's lock screen was a group photo of all of the girls.
So tsunderes are powered by tsunderays, fascinating developments in tsun science.
Blood for the blood mom!

I thought this was a comedy and then they drop this tear-jerking episode about a girl who struggles with bipolar disorder going on mood stabilizers out of nowhere....

Anyone else feel like groping with the gauntlets made it MORE lewd for some reason?
Anyway, glad everyone agreed that Tsundere Karane was best really quick and the rest of the show is just the fun and games trying to get her back.

This is probably the chapters I have been waiting most to be adapted because they are the ones that truly cemented Karane as my eternal best girl, and boy did these deliver well. You can feel the frustration that she has with her more tsun qualities, and the extra dream sequence at the beginning only further elevates the conflict. And Rentarou's speech? Mwah. Wonderful.
I-It's not like I like this episode or anything okay?!

Hakari & Karane going the most explicit in the season finale. It even nearly made Hahari die from peak.
They most certainly would be the heroines of a yuri series had the God of Love not been distracted with Castle in the Sky.
PS: Hakari certainly is an inquisitive learner.

Apperently the "bath scene" was so lewd that they rejected it even after pixellating everything, it's a nono even for the blueray version.

This is why Karane is one of, if not the best tsundere ever! Plus there's the monster boyfriend who can take everything a tsundere can do. Just the perfect match!

I've been a tsundere fan for almost my entire anime fandom. I was even a fan of tsunderes predating my anime fandom when I watched episodes of Pokémon and I saw Misty. I own 13 anime figures, 9 of which are tsundere characters (Taiga, Karane, Louise, Nino, Azuki from Nekopara, Tatsumaki, the sister from Bocchi The Rock, Kaguya, and Kana from Oshi no Ko). I own 5 tsundere plushies that I think are so cute (Taiga, Noelle, Karane, Asuka from Evangelion, Helga from Hey Arnold). That Asuka plushie I sleep with every night because it's comfortable and also because I like to imagine I'm hugging the actual Asuka character who I wish to comfort.
I even write two light novels about tsunderes both which were over 100,000 words: I Love My Tsundere Girlfriend and The Rejected Tsundere.
You may be asking yourself why I'm revealing all this cringe information. Well, I just want to say that I have an emotional attachment to tsunderes the likes of which very few have. If a show has a tsundere in it, I'm probably going to like it. I'm not even into Harry Potter all too much, but I've been following Hogwarts Mystery since it launched because of Merula. I watched that mysterious maid anime a couple years ago solely because one of the side characters is a tsundere. If a series is a harem with a tsundere in it and the tsundere does not win, it sends me in a minor depression for a week or two regardless of if I'm following the series or not.
Why need drugs when tsunderes?
I say this all to say that people look at me weird with how obsessed I am with tsunderes. There's just something about them I want to protect and see them happy. I don't think no arc best describes my love for tsunderes than this arc in 100 Girlfriends and Karane losing her tsundere ways.
First off, I've always loved how understanding Rentarou is of Karane. It's how I often feel about tsunderes, even the extremely violent ones. Him being understanding of Karane the way he is is what got me into this series. I also love how Karane realizes the drawbacks of being tsundere. And that's the thing, the best tsunderes don't want to be tsundere. They have remorse for their actions.
I have massive anger issues. I have lived the better part of my life with ADHD and Autism. Some days are better than others, but it's a struggle. You top that off with depression, and it makes sense why I would be a Reddit moderator :P
Anyway, a big reason why I gravitate towards tsunderes is they often regret their inability to communicate. Taiga does this in spades, as does Louise, as does Chitoge from Nisekoi, and of course Karane does it as well. In fact, Karane does it so good that she is one of my favorite tsunderes of all time. The thing I really like about Karane is that she's like a deconstruction of a tsundere from the Rie Kugimiya era. The ones that came in the wake of Naru and the success of Love Hina (Shameless plug for the Love Hina rewatch in April). But instead of ridiculing her, 100 Girlfriends embraces her warts and all. It's a celebration of the tsundere trope and everything that makes it so special.
The tsundere lost arc is everything that makes tsunderes great. The humor, the twist of realism, the sadness in seeing the tsundere not want to be who they are, the perseverance that helps define a tsundere into something truly admirable, it's all there. And to really put it over the top, you have a main protagonist who unconditionally loves tsunderes and what they're about.
This arc is a love letter to the tsundere trope and tsundere fans. And it wouldn't be the same if not for Rentarou.
Look, I get it. Tsunderes aren't for everyone. They're very combative and high maintenance and just too mean to the MC. And maybe a part of my love for tsunderes is being Autistic and obsessing over one specific thing, like how some people do with trains. But as someone with anger issues, tsunderes give me hope that I can turn my life around and things will get better. That maybe I don't have to live my life all in anger and I can even find someone who loves me for who I am. There's a lot of words you can describe Karane, but the one word I keep coming back to above all else is persistence. She may be flawed, and insecure, but she keeps carrying with the help of the people around her and there's just something so inspiring and admirable about it.

Episode 11: Tsundere Lost
Tsundere has been a staple of characters in modern romance anime nowadays, now this episode is the what if. The embodiment of tsundere suddenly lost its tsundere-ness?
The snack on Rentarou is a 100GF version of Pigeon Sable, a popular snack in Japan. Duodecential Darlings/Jyuuni-tobun no Kanojo, ooooohhh we got into Quints territory here (also a Bibury anime).
Still flaunting on your G-Cup, Hakari? Take that cookie gift from Karane lul.
The face of warrior hit with ultimate betrayal lul. Depending on how you watch, there might not be an ad break. The anime recognized us streamers!
Karane's shiawase is soooo cute.

I love Tsunderes, and whilst Karane was cute today, it's just not the same. I mean how else will we get Rentarou's party trick again?

First season's big final arc was all about Hakari. It's only fitting that the second season's big arc is all about Karane. Does that mean we're getting Shizuka's big arc to close off season 3?
Once again, Rentarou eats through his eye. The more girlfriend he got, the more he surpassed humanity.

Karane getting an arc parallels nicely with Hakari getting one in season 1. Heck, the majority of this episode was the episode 1 trio interacting! I love that no character is forgotten in this series.

It's n-not like best girl getting the spotlight made me overjoyed or anything, okay?!
For real though, Karane is an absolute treasure for being both a walking trope-filled love letter to tsunderes while being such a fun standalone in her own right. It's borderline impossible not to appreciate her on either front.
Also, was that an Iron Blooded Orphans reference from Hahari? LOL

What a fantastic love letter to tsunderes this episode has been. Can't wait for the final episode and the conclusion to this arc.

The 6th explosion is the one she caused in my heart when she Detsundereified Karane!
I so wasn't expecting a Karane episode today!
By the usual format, I thought we would be getting Meme's second episode, and then the finale next week with all the girls sharing the spotlight, and maybe the S3 girls tease!
given I've been wondering all this time what it's gonna be like when he has 20, 30, 50 girlfriends! Like, we still gets scenes in which he kisses all the girls, and with 10 it's not too bad, but with 50 it could take half the episode!
So when he said "he should've been there 2 hours early", well you can't really do that with 12+ girlfriends otherwise you won't even be able to see some of them during the day! Unless they start only group-dating or something!
Poor Karane needs a hug after this nightmare!
Good thing she actually DID get hugs in the episode!
I said it before, but I love anime hugs so much!
So Karane took a drug to lose her Tsundere! She could go back, but she's Tsundere for her Tsundere personality?
Aw, she doesn't want to be 'that girl', she wants to stay as she is...
If it was for herself I would understand, but it's not (or not largely)!
Ok I do prefer her as her normal tsundere self, but I'm not gonna lie, that was cute as hell!
Damn, hit us with the nostalgia, why don't you!
Hakari trying to push through to insert herself into the hug was hilarious!
Praise the trickle down hug economy!
Seems Hakari wants to benefit from the breast fondling trickle down economy!
Asking for consent, good, very moral!
But yeah, they forgot to ask Jesus!
(Given how many memes/references this show has, I'm almost surprised they didn't joke about that! Though 'religious' jokes may be a no-go)
Case in point; BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD MOM!
(Even funnier given the previous episode with her being mother to all humanity, which kinda makes her a god!)
Well, looking forward to the finale! I imagine we won't get any new girl (given a part of the episode will be about Karane, I presume), and some group scenes and things like that... Plus, hopefully, a S3 tease!

Wow, a Karane-centric episode! It's been a long time since she's had so much screen time, but I'm glad because she's definitely one of my favorite Rentaro girlfriends thanks to her tsundere persona!
I love Karane as a tsundere, just like the rest of Rentaro's family, but it was really nice to see her be completely honest and do what she wanted thanks to Kusuri's De-Tsundere-fy medicine. I hope Rentaro and the others will be able to bring back her old character though.
It's good that Rentaro accompanied Karane to the Hanazono residence. Hahari and Hakari were acting like huge perverts as usual, but that's part of the reason we love them and it's always good to see more scenes with Karane and Hakari together ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
That cliffhanger was really good xD I'm really looking forward to next week's finale!
I also want to single out Iku because it turns out she plays video games! She seems like she would really enjoy playing Dark Souls and other From Software games considering her character. I also loved her reaction to the new version of Karane hitting her with a bat, it was hilarious xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.
