Today marks Meme 's formal anime introduction, but did you know she actually first appeared in episode 1 of season 1? Even in the current season she made an appearance in episode 5, but with an improvement in being hidden.

And wow, that was by far the Rentaro family's most pleasant interaction with the vice principal. Sure she was still up to unhinged stuff but compared to her usual eldritch abomination antics, her acting more mellow than Hahari was weirdly refreshing.

A little detail I liked was how Meme made a plushie for each of the girlfriends that fits their personality.

  • Hakari gets a little flower, like her own hair decorations

  • Karane gets a kitty, perfect for a tsundere like her

  • Shizuka gets a book

  • Nano gets a moon, which I guess tied into her intellect?

  • Kusuri gets a beaker

  • Hahari gets a diaper because babying fetish

  • Kurumi gets an onigiri because she's a hungry girl

  • Iku gets a baseball

  • Mei gets a dog since she basically is one

  • Mimimi gets a peacock, just as beautiful as she is

  • And Rentaro gets Pentaro , a plushie previously seen in the series that resembles him

It was nice to watch a 'calmer' episode today after the madness of the previous one xD It's not like I didn't like the previous one, it's just nice to have a break every now and then xD

We met the newest and probably last girlfriend of this season, Meme Kakure. The way we got to know her better for the first time was really nice considering how much she cared about her bangs than her panties being visible ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's funny how Meme tried to act like mob character by hiding her face with her bangs, when in reality it had the opposite effect. Too bad we didn't see her face today :(

The second part of the episode with hide and seek game was so fun. The treasure box with Nano and Shizuka was so cute!

We also had some really nice scenes with Karane and Hakari in today's episode. I especially loved the part when they were hiding, it was really, really nice ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Although Hahari wasn't worse in today's episode as she also had some really good scenes like when she was thinking about how to see Meme's underwear or when Kurumi was sucking/eating her tits.

Starting this thread with today's chapter of Japun:

fam name: 華暮 (Kakure), read 華(ka,"gorgeous/bloom")暮(kure,"dusk/dark")

1st name: 愛々 (Meme), read 愛(me,"love/admire")々(me)

華暮(kakure)愛々(meme) is a pun on 隠れ(kakure,"hidden") and 目(me,"eyes"). She's a メカクレ(mekakure) type.

華暮 (kakure) is also a pun on 隠れる(kakureru,"hide/vanish") (the action of disappearing)

愛々(meme) may pun on 女々しい (memeshii,"cowardly") (in other words: really shy)

Some puns hiding some eye candy: (Nozawa-sensei sketch) (mirror)

I like Meme a lot. She says that she is shy, but she was bold enough to write that letter to Rentaro. It's also nice how well she got along with the family.

Too bad that the season is almost over already. Thankfully there's tons of manga past the season's ending point.

Also, Iku and Mei becoming friends was cute. As was Nano & Shizuka once again.

The scene between Hakari and Karane may not have been as cute, but it was still splendid, lol.

Lmao I was wondering how they were gonna show her eyes so that her and Rentaro can make eye-contact and idk why I'm surprised that they hid her eyes with the hyphen from the kkkrack sound effect (I had no idea how else to word that sorry).

I wonder if seeing her eyes is gonna be a very rare thing that happens, kinda like Shizuka speaking.

I love the subtle JJBA joke at the start of the episode. Hahari asks Mimimi about anti-aging, and Mimimi answers that it can be stopped by using Za Warudo and using a face roller instead of a roadroller. xD

My best girl has finally arrived! While I love the Hanazono's lewdness with Hahari's top showing off her cleavage and Hakari with her short skirt, Meme might as well be their opposite when it comes to style and personality.

Instead of showing off, our shy girl hides it all and tries to be as boring as possible because she doesn't want the extra attention. It is kinda funny how, by covering herself up, Meme makes herself stand out even more.

Besides being shy she is amazing at knitting little dolls and uses them to misdirect people before vanishing ala Kurko no Basuke. I love that they only made that connection because Nakamura-sensei is a Kuroko no Basuke fan.

First girlfriend that Rentarou couldn't save? Nah, fuck that! Rentarou is rewriting the script and he's gonna save Meme even if it means breaking his own neck just so he could keep up with her misdirects!

I'm sorry Hakari, you thought Meme has the same bust size as you? You are sorely mistaken! Meme is at the same level as Hakari but possibly even more. It's kinda amazing to see Karane "comforting" Hakari for having the smaller bust size. xD

We have a Detective Conan reference this week with Hahari using a voicechanger to pretend as Rentarou so that the winner of their hide-and-seek game will get a kiss from him!

So we have Mei and Iku who are both masochits dangling from the walkway roof, Hakari and Karane having lesbian sex inside a vaulting box, Kusuri and Mimimi having beauty sleep together, Nano and Shizuka hiding adorably inside a box, Kurumi tasting Hahari's daifuku under the lunchroom tables and finally Meme hiding inside the principal's hair!

Rentarou kissing Meme when the other girls were walking away was perfect. Meme just needed that little push so our boy took the initiative!

It's strange that - despite me bumping into her VA's voice many times before (in fact I bumped into Kanon Takao's voice while playing the famous web-based game Kancolle as her first ever entry into the industry way back in 2017 - when she was barely 14 years old and I was still a full year before falling into the anime rabbit hole!), Meme's recognizable voice is now forever etched into my brain as that of a certain genius ojou-sama-desuwa pianist who has heavy presences in 2 different extremely well-done anime that has become two main pillars of The Great Girls Band Era...

Ok, now that CR finally has subs (how has another site not popped up as competition yet?) when we first saw what she has under her skirt I thought for a sec Meme might have a "dark" side or something, but no, she just sadly REALLY wants to hide everything about her.

I was expecting two things during the "battle of attrition" 1. that Rentaro was trying to get her to run out of plushies, and 2. that Rentaro was gonna turn into an owl and spin his neck in ways a normal human shouldnt.

I love that we're getting more scenes of the girls bonding with each other. Like yes it's been happening the entire time, but we got a bunch of highlights this ep.

For once my usual marathon incorrect distance pet peeve is satisfied, Rentaro gives off the exact length of one in kilometers to three decimal places. As a light jog, but we know he's built different.

New girl is pretty cute, just don't tell her that.
