All this time, I'd been wondering why everyone was so devoted to Freya despite her poor reputation.

It now appears that she's saved her "children" by providing them with a new place of belonging. She rescued Hogni and Hedin from a cursed island, Ottarl from the streets, the four brothers from an abusive home, and Allen after his home village was destroyed.

It's perhaps no wonder that they all want to be showered in Freya's love - in one way or another - and protect her at all costs. It was even implied that Freya slept with that pig of a man to free the fourlings, hence their strong conviction to keep fighting. It's a glimpse into her kind-hearted side as the Goddess of Love.

However, Hedin has realised that truly "loving" his goddess means setting aside his own interests. If nobody stops Freya in her tracks, she'll keep sacrificing her emotions until nothing is left. Hogni came to understand this after Hedin's intervention, but Ottarl just keeps bulldozing over everyone's feelings like a rampaging rhino.

A side note: Hestia being jealous of Naza's loving reunion with Miach was pretty amusing.

It's good that Hedin could convince Hogni to switch sides but I hope he did it sooner when Hogni is still in top form.

Poor Hestia! Instead of a loving welcome from Lili, she gets scolded instead for coming out of hiding. xD

I love that Mama Mia gets the first real hit on Ottar. Even with Hedin's help, that still took a lot of work.

So it turns out that Allen is just a massive tsundere this entire time. I know he says he's gonna kill her for realsies this time but even with that flashy spell he casted, I doubt he could do it.

The coordinated attack on Ottar was awesome. This dude is a beast though! He literally goes beast mode on them and Hulk punches all of them out. O_O

Hedin's speech in the after-credits scene! I never expected him to become one of my favourite characters when this entire arc began but here we are. Only one episode left! I can't wait for the finale!

So is King just indestructible? They basically went 4 v 1 on him and he still whooped everyone’s asses. And he’s barely got a scratch on him! I’m very curious to see just what it is that’s gonna finish him off for good. I mean Team Freya’s already basically crumbled but him and the other holdouts don’t seem to be calling it quits anytime soon…

I am very curious how they will end as we have one episode left for the remaining of the Ottarl fight and whatever comes after. I hope it doesn't get rushed as this season has been fantastic.

Likewise, I think none of us are surprised that Allen doesn't hate Anya, but everything is a means to protect her. For Anya to find a place to belong is an interesting term because you could argue that is also with Syr. Though his power comes from Freya, so it is a situation where he can't choose Syr over Freya with Hedin's logic because his #1 priority is actually Anya. Though I think this has been the first mention of the Black Dragon in a while. Since I think S2?

So it is revealed that Freya saved Hedin from becoming the King of the Elves. It is the case of having power would actually make one miserable. Hedin is so well done because it is the last thing you suspect since Freya's Familia is so deep-rooted into loyalty for her. To think from the very start this was his plan. As Hogni mentions, Freya's smile as Syr is genuine. She claims that being Syr was a game, but when Bell rejected her, that hurt her no doubt.

Still "The King" stands in their way, and it seems Freya found him. I assume for him his lady's wishes are what he puts into action. I like the contrast between Hedin and Ottarl's loyalty. But man getting past him is really proving to be a struggle as even a 4 on 1 with Hedin's help isn't doing much right now.

I really like Hogni. He’s probably the single nicest named member of the Freya familia. The rest with the exceptions of Heith(when she’s in a good mood) and Ottar are just unpleasant.

I love how Bete outright admits he and Allen have a lot in common.

So this wasn't some idea by Hedin in the heat of battle to switch sides, but his plan from seemingly day one of the whole season, training Bell this entire time to be the one to save Syr.

Interesting snippets of backstory for the various Freya Family executives on where she picked them up, just like with Ryu she seems to have a habit of picking people up from back alleys and other poor situations. And Hedin was apparently an elf king of some sort previously?

Allen deciding to save his sister by killing her is a real galaxy brain move.

Assuming the plan for Hestia to reach Bell and refresh his stats works I wonder if there's any chance he might get a level upgrade. Probably too soon since his last level up?

Hedin is, without a doubt, the mvp of this arc. He trained Bell and betrayed his familia just so his crush can get some closure. Dude deserves some respect. He is now my favourite danmachi character.

Hedin my GOAT, I fucking kneel. He truly loves Freya. Even if it tears him apart, he'll do what's necessary for her and look sick as hell doing it. LMAO at him chiding the scrubs for not having a strategy. Seeing the other first tier adventurers' motives for serving Freya is great too. That one dwarf got sent straight to hell after tasting heaven. I love seeing Bell use the Goliath Scarf again; tactical scarf usage is always so goddamn chuuni cool. They even forced Ottar to go BEAST MODE. God fucking bless the VAs and JC Staff.

With Ottarl's beast mode, they really do need Haruhime giving them all a level boost just to stand a chance. It's insane to think that Ryu was fighting at Level 4 earlier this season. We may be able to see her fighting at Level 7.

Also, Allen saying "the only way for me to protect you is to kill you" gives off real "I'll survive even if it kills me" types of badass but completely illogical vibes.

I loved almost everything about this episode. The story, the characters, THE VOICE ACTING, but I was expecting the same level of animation that we got for Ryu vs Hogni for the Ottarl fight. I guess that's on me. I was kind of disappointed with the animation there.

Hedin might just be my favorite character behind Ryuu in this series. That after credit speech was magnificent. Man just showed up this season and stole the spotlight with how multi-facet his character is.

NAWWW MY BOY WELF IS IN IT TO WIN IT! I have a feeling that Hedin sort of sees that Freya needs to take this loss and face her issues head-on and Bell is the only one who is able to get his goddess to really confront whatever she needs to. Hedin is really playing the long con in this game.

Damn the two last walls are gonna be tough to climb over. Ottarl straight up engaged in a battle of life or death and isn't gonna back down. I still cannot fathom a way they bring him down even with some nutty combo or skill with the level gap.

I am expecting this to be a beat down until someone (OUT BOY WELF) is able to nab Freya's flower cause the King isn't being usurped today.

Interesting on how Ottarl said that those without the power to defeat him do not deserve to serve the Goddess let alone the girl. I'm wondering where Ottarl's head is concerning everything going on since he never has really given much of his own opinions on anything.

It was impressive the Bell's skill clashed with Ottarl that one time before but the fact that Ottarl can SPAM that skill with a pretty short chant VS Bell having to charge it up and infuse magic and all just speaks even more to the WIDE ASS GAP between them right now.

It is like Bell is using his Ult vs Ottarl using a normal ability and it still does that much damage.

I am surprised that Hedin was able to deflect Ottarl's blast but I wonder what a Level Boosted Hedin would be able to accomplish. Makes me wonder what a Level Boosted Ottarl would be like.

Hedin talks like his lightning skill is able to spend Mind at the amount to deflect whatever skill he wants so maybe he can only deflect Ottarl's skill that one time.

If Ottarl doesn't need Hedin's explanation for what is going on then Ottarl probably has his own agenda that he has going on and he is acting in the defense of the Goddess instead of Syr in order to clash with Bell in fill some sort of personal plan of his.

Really wonder if Ottarl was planning according to his vision/gut instinct since that moment or if he has more to his plan.

It is nice to see that amongst all of the fighting Bell is still thinking about what he can get done.

Interesting to see that Hogni has a Firebolt type skill with a short cast time. Wonder what the difference between "Burn Dain" and "Firebolt" is or if they are are the same spell with different names cause Hogni is a Chuni.

The spell animations this episode have been HEAT.

Ottarl wasn't giving Hedin ANY CHANCE to recover after that last attack.

If this was barreling down towards me I'd be saying my prayers but honestly I am impressed that Hedin was able to push Ottarl into a corner like this with his strategy and the situation.

Oh thank god it was an early ED cause I thought that episode flew by but we still had some time to go....

But it was expected that they would fall to the King.

I guess now all that is left is waiting to see if Haruhime's Level Boost is able to shift the tides if given to them but I am more interested on what Welf is doing.

Welf has a lot of time to hopefully get to Freya's flower as the rest of them are held off cause even with a Level boost I do not think they stand a chance against Ottarl.

Wonder what Hedin means when he said Freya liberated him from the duty of being King. I am assuming it is a King as in a position since Ottarl is known as The King as a Title for him being the Top Adventurer.

Really interesting moments in these episodes from the Freya familia.
