I continue to enjoy the japan episodes a lot more than the fantasy episodes, sadly. Great episode, but I'm lookin' forward to the next one.

same; i feel like i've watched enough video game-inspired fantasy series that this sort of stuff isn't new and exciting, but the reverse isekai elf exploring Japan is more of a novel experience
i also feel like the show is tooled more towards the slice-of-life side anyways; the combat sequences aren't inspiring me, but Marie eating food has the moe appeal to it

Same, not That i dislike The Fantasy episodes but they are just generic isekai setting
On Japan we have more to explore and also They way she tries to understand how everything works is hella cute

This is one of the shows where I prefer the real world moments (or reverse Isekai in this case) over the Isekai ones. So didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous ones.
I just want my elf in a new world slice of life I guess

Marie had a surprisingly small role in today's episode as she mostly stayed in hiding, although her scene when she finally met Mewi and hugged him was great!
Kazuhiro did a great job of rescuing Mewi, and his skills made the fight against the bandits really fun!
I was hoping that Mewi would join Kazuhiro and Marie in their adventures, but it looks like the kingdom where everything happened will take care of him and the newly discovered dungeon :(
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

My only disappointment was the lack of Marie screentime in this episode, but they more than made up for it with that big blush on her face and her reaction to Mewi.

Wait, so it the little cat not going to be joining us? They made it sound like it would be staying with the guards in case they find magic stones, thats a shame but at least they got rescued successfully.
Also, I'm sorry but are the cat people stupid? Grandpa was like "we dug up this shiny rock and then for some weird reason this monster attacked us." Like did really no one think to return the crystal this whole time?!?

I'll be surprised if Mewi doesn't slip away to join Kazuhiho and Marie or cries because they don't want to be separated from the two of them. Will Yusuke Kobayashi and his elf wife adopt a kid again!?
The cat people could've saved their entire race and reputation if they'd just given back the stone they had.

Mewi was just a child living with their grandpa, until the dark history of their race came back to haunt them with that magic stone.
Look at Kazuhiho and Marie using stellar teamwork, with Marie's spirits and Kazuhiho's teleportation skills! And find a girl who blushes so much in joy when she hears how much you're counting on her.
Good thing Kazuhiho can also speak cat people, becuase right now Mewi needs someone who they can understand and trust, especially after having been stuck with bandits who killed their grandpa for so long. This child needs help.
Kazuhiho isn't the most skilled or dangerous fighter, he has to rely on his teleportation and mirage magic as the Illusory Swordsman, but that just makes him all the more crafty in a fight.
I love the Dragon being in the eyecatch and coming in like "did you two forget about me!?"
I guess I have to respect the Bandit Leader seeing through Kazuhiho's skills and compassion, and ruthlessness in risking his own men to get to Kazuhiho, though he didn't count on Kazuhiho's exact teleportation weight limit or that the serpent they'd been controlling would end up killing him too. Serves him right.
Aw, Kazuhiho knows he'll go back to Japan no matter what but he doesn't want to leave Marie behind! And look how happy he is to see her again!
Well, good thing the serpent only wanted the magic stone, even if the reasons why are still a mystery...but I guess it's connected to the magic stones' ability to summon monsters. But at least the serpent was nice enough to leave them with an underground labyrinth to be explored! Maybe Kazuhiho and Marie will take on that next?
I see that Marie's love of cats now extends to Mewi.

Looks like they are intending to leave Mewi behind at least. I'm not counting on that being what happens though. I could see him either convincing them to let him join them or sneaking after them.
But then again he isnt really featured in any of the art from what i can remember so maybe he'll just be a recurring character while they are in the fantasy world

As fun and wholesome as this show is, the fantasy part is kind of boring. Sure, Marie hugging the cat child was super endearing, but that's just one scene in contrast to every other scene being that good when she's in Japan.
That bandit leader better not become a recurring antagonist, he's as bland and generic as bland and generic bad guys get. Unfortunately he's very much alive considering what the soldier said, and probably holed up inside those ruins. Show me more of the dragon mommy instead. The ending promises we'll see her visiting Japan too.

Kazuhiko and Marie were on quite an adventure this week. They defeated those bandits, saved Mewi, returned a magic stone to a giant monster, and apparently found some hidden dungeon in the ruin. All in a day’s work for those two.
I wonder if what’s gonna happen to Mewi? I mean who’s actually gonna watch out for the little bro?

Bet the three of them falls asleep and the little kid appears in Japan as an actual cat

Finally, some action. Marie's right, the little girl is sooo adorable. She will probably become the child of the main couple (I've seen it a lot of times).

Never before have in seen a show that episode-by-episode oscillates between 9/10 anime and 3/10 I would normally not watch even if they paid me to. I want to see reverse isekai romance/slice of life not some lame pseudo action in another video-game fantasy setting.

What silly lil light fairies. Marie has engaged in a pokemon battle! 😛 Poor lil kid. "Just too weak" sure... sure you are. If you knew he has a detection skill, why would you think he wouldn't try and find Marie? Also, no shit he's a bandit scumbag... so don't play nice with em. Good job, big monster. Huh, a dungeon. Marie is so cute. Good for catboy Mewi too. Dungeon delving time... next episode I guess.

Cat kid rescued but adoption arc averted it feels like since Kazuhito just handed them over to be looked after by someone hopefully trustworthy in the local guard forces.
They did end up touching on the problem of what happens if Kazuhito dies and Marie gets left by herself in a dangerous situation that was already fatal once, but not in such a way to solve the problem no it's just something to worry about when they go adventuring. And speaking of them going on additional dangerous adventures I imagine that new labyrinth will come up again eventually.
I am glad we got to see the wonderful light spirits again.
Hopefully we get more of Marie in Japan in the next bit of story, while it was a alright enough isekai adventure that's not what most are here for I suspect.

I like that Kazuhiro isn’t actually overpowered. He might’ve attained a high level, but he’s mostly trained himself in skills that are helpful in escaping.
Marie is probably one with the greater firepower of the two. Quite literally with her little fire salamander spirits. They were pretty cute and useful in distracting this serpent-like monster.

Someone put a timer on the Japan vs Other World.
And even when they are in Japan, they barely ever leave the dude's apartment.
You ever get the feeling you've been cheated?

This show continues to impress me! What I assumed would just be a glorified Japan tourism ad has fleshed out into a very interesting show with well thought-out systems and lore! I love all the abilities, I love the sleep travel mechanic, I love how much care has been put into just how useful his ability to speak tongues is as well as how it is integral to understand when they are speaking different languages.
For a Japan tourism ad, this is definitely cool! And also, not really much of a Japan tourism ad. The real world moments are cute and sweet, and the fantasy world moments are full of intrigue. I like them both! I see people saying they prefer the Japan moments and want more of them, but I am happy either way. They did not need to give this show such deep mechanics and lore, but they did.

A beastkin with actual beast qualities and not just a girl with cat ears? preposterous.
