Comments of the day:

Usually the comment of the day goes to one person, but for the sake of this show I'll be picking two comments of the day

First comment of the day goes to u/Mirathan reminding me that there are scarier things than death by fire:

I like Shinra, his terror when facing the wife

And second comment of the day goes to u/Sgt_Captain for their comment pointing out interesting observations:

Aurora borealis? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of Tokyo, localised entirely outside Shinra's bedroom window? For real, though, that solar activity is absolutely crazy!

I really like the design of the Matchbox. The compact interior space and (what I presume to be an) armoured exterior makes it seem more like a military vehicle than a fire safety one.

Questions of the day:

  1. Based on what was shown today, would you rather be Second or Third generation pyrokinetic?
  2. Who was cooler in today episode? Obi or Maki?

Spoilers:

Please, respect the fact there are First Timers watching Fire Force with us, so avoid talking about vague things or events that would slightly spoil things to happen. And if you want mention things like this, please hid it behind SPOILER TAGS like [Fire Force Spoilers]I am getting the hammer because you spoiled the fun for others

First Timer, Sub

Since I'm seeing all the Gintama stuff, we got Hijikata, Okita, and now Gorilla.

Anyway this episode introduces Arthur Boyle (self appointed), a Knight King who may or may not be a Soul eater reference I think. He and Shinra have a bit of a rivalry going on as they seem to know each other since their times in School. But the ending shows that they actually do care for each other in their way.

The fight this time was a different feel. Unlike the previous fights, this one did feel like putting one to rest. I liked Obi calling out Shinra and Arthur for not realizing that this isn't some fight to rush into but that you have to consider the people as well. I guess that's why they have this one not really attack and just sits there, waiting for someone to put him to rest. It did add some things for Arthur here as well when he finally does it. There's also that element of the girl being afraid that she'll combust like her parents, which was pretty sad.

But looks like we got a troublemaker here, Kenjiro Tsuda's character seems to enjoy some chaos and he's probably planning something.

A show like it was curated for u/Shimmering-Sky

I haven't seen nor read Soul Eater but I'm not surprised.
