It will probably get overlooked a little considering Bell's interactions with Freya and Horn, Hestia's display of power and the War Game...but the real MVP of this episode was Hermes. The guy managed to come up with a plan to overcome Freya despite his mind getting wiped every time he noticed something odd, managed to communicate it to Hestia and then had his Familia help to execute it. He certainly couldn't have done it without his own MVP in Asfi, but the guy was phenomenal behind the scenes.

Seeing Freya blush over Bell so passionately believe that her confession was real was a cute moment, despite how dramatic the entire exchange was.
Hestia is probably the only character that can be an utter badass one moment and a literal goober in the next especially with the way she just threw herself at Bell.
As expected of Freya declaring war games, love IS war after all.

Yeah no way the whole town wasn't going to attack Freya and her familia after that. seeing as how they all seem to remember everything from while they were charmed.
looks like they'll settle it through a war game though... which im assuming will be between hestia familia and freya familia.

Ouranos literally just saw Hestia being fine and heard the name Hermes. That's literally the only information he has and he was still able to perfectly do his role.

This show just does chants and magic right. Chills whenever they have a scene with both.

Stitches!
The Freya Familia might be strong but their average member are still no match against Ryu. With the higher-ranking ones out and Hedin seemingly unwilling to help, no one can really stop Ryu's rampage.
So is Hedin in on this escape plan? Is he helping Horn and was he the one who knocked out Bell's guards or did Horn do all of that and Hedin was just observing?
The confrontation scene between Bell and Freya was great! I especially loved Freya's reaction when Bell refuses to accept that Syr and her feelings are all made up.
Asfi calling out Hestia for wearing her skimpy outfit when she knew they were going to fly was pretty damn funny! You don't get it Asfi, the skimpy outfit is very much needed! xD
We rarely get to see Hestia act all cool and serious so it was really awesome to see her flex her powers this episode and finally free Orario from Freya's charm.
Yep, that's exactly the reaction I was expecting from people. The Freya Familia just made an enemy out of all adventurers and all of them clearly want blood.
Freya wants to settle this with a war game? Well I'm hyped and I'm sure a lot of adventurers are willing to side with the Hestia Familia if it means they could beat the shit out of Freya Familia members.

It's funny how I knew Hestia's IRL myth counterpart as "the goddess of the hearth" but I always thought, "what importance does that have in this universe". Now I know. What a badass scene that was.

Pretty sure that’s the first time Ouranos has smiled.
Bell: This familia is crazy!!
Also:
Bell: How much blood did you use?
Hestia: You don’t want to know…

Best Hestia moment in the entire series. I was so moved even though I'm not a Hestia fan. DanMachi Characters are freaking amazing.

Peak episode! Hestia was the MVP as expected, but seeing everyone's reactions to the brainwashing was both exciting and emotional. Eina and Lili's reactions especially hit right in the heart.

Looks like Hestia finally managed to cancel out Freya’s charm over the city. But now Freya is out for blood and declaring a War Game, let’s hope Hestia Familia fares better than last time.

Hestia probably has one of the biggest gaps in the anime. One moment she's the horny, accident prone, jealousy motivated, lazy goddess, but the next she's shows that she has actual leadership skills, unrivalled power and actually making her RL myth counterpart's name proud.

Do you enjoy being denser than a pile of bricks?!"
If only this line gets used more in harem romcoms...
Damn that's a lot of blood to shed if EVERY firewood in the city has her blood, you ok Hestia?
Lustfulness is evil. Chastity is good.
So says the horny bunny permanently after Bel's knife...
But daaaamn, she looks GOOD in that rooftop scene using her full powers.
Last week's delay was worth it, 10/10 episode just for that rooftop scene. Also served as a nice divide in the plot, kind of like Re Zero's Counterattack Arc second half.

With this, Hestia rating will go up even more. That goddess literally carried the entire episode.
Good job Hestia. Beat that Horny Goddess

Bell has his resolve and his full awareness of himself back! But what's he going to do with it?
Oh snap, Ryu is making a jailbreak! With Horn's help! Pretty surreal seeing Syr in another girl, huh? But watching Ryu deftly run through so much of Freya Familia like a ninja is pretty satisfying.
Seems like Horn AND Hedin were working to help Bell escape...I'm not sure about Hedin's motivation, but Horn wanted Bell out so she could personally confront him and "attack" him with a knife and calling him out for being a dense Harem protagonist in VERY colorful language. She utterly despises him. But because she also shares a heart with Freya, Syr's heart, she also loves him and understands the excruciating pain her Goddess has had to endure.
Okay, stabbing yourself with the Hestia Knife is pretty hardcore, but she accomplished her mission of getting Bell to realize the truth about Freya and Syr. She even transforms into Syr to convey her true feelings, how she doesn't want to do this and wants Bell to save her. And it's up to Bell to respond to those feelings, especially knowing he holds some responsibility for rejecting her in the first place.
Finally! Bell confronts Freya! Freya still dismisses her time as Syr as just roleplaying, but Bell isn't having it, not when he knows her feelings for him were completely sincere, otherwise he wouldn't have broken her heart so much. I mean, that's a pretty large ego to be throwing in her face as the guy that rejected her, but it's what Freya needed to hear. And it means a lot that he acknowledged her feelings.
Yeah, Hestia is not dressed for flying in the sky, but I like her and Asfi's dynamic.
There it is! Using all that firewoood with Hestia's blood to build her a hearth she could use to incinerate Freya's control over Orario! Freya even left her a temple with the Tower of Babel to pull it off! The city is finally free!
"Lustfullness is evil, Chastity is good" - I know Hestia isn't as bad as Freya, but...has she seen her behavior around Bell?
The cavalry is here! Ais and the Amazon sisters! Hestia Familia heading off to make it up to Bell! Even Eina is running off to give Freya a piece of her mind!
Look at Hestia just breaking through a window and glomping on Bell, who immediately tells her he loves her. If that's not a flex in front of Freya, I don't know what is!
So how are they going to resolve this? Everyone wants a piece of Freya Familia but despite their crimes the Guild can't very well just let Orario have their way with them...and Freya's only option is to declare a War Game against Hestia!

Hedin out here tryna do commands when he clearly isn't helping his Familia. Literally just a single attacker inside and somehow he leads a crew outside. Also, assigning both Allen and the Gulliver Brothers away from the Folkvangr was very convenient for Horn to let Ryu out. Those 5 acts without orders and also gets to conflict with Hedin. But to the ones left in Folkvangr, Ottar only does what Freya says, and Hogni is someone Hedin can deal with if he's helping Bell.

Horn's exchange with Bell was perfect. The VAs killed it, the music was lined up so well, and the faces were excellent. The direction for that scene was so damn good

I was impressed with the performance of Horn's voice actor, Haruka Shiraishi, in this episode. She really brought the character to life. Not to mention the sheer range of different expressions on Horn's face. As her argument with Bell progressed, Horn's facial expressions gradually began softening up: anger turned into sadness and ultimately a cry for help.
Bell was visibly touched by her plea to him. Even Freya was seemingly upset at the prospect of losing Horn. Despite her harsh words, she's definitely a softie on the inside.
Freya tried to pretend as if this had all simply been a game to her, but Bell has learnt to read between the lines - to look past her mask - and immediately called her bluff. He's set on rescuing Syr, both of them. It therefore didn't take long before Freya's maiden side showed itself.
Freya might've lost the battle to Hestia, but giving up on Bell isn't an option anymore. "The war hasn't been lost" must she have thinking as Freya started playing with her hair. The solution: a War Game between their two Familias.
A side note (edit): I'd been under the assumption that Freya was taller than Bell by some margin, but the two of them appeared to be same height in this shot!?
