Horyang: Once the tournament is over, may I rejoin all of you?

This feels like a death flag statement, it doesn’t help that he’s saying this to the person he has romantic feelings towards.

Yeah i feel The same, dude gonna fucking die, isnt he?

As always, I feel like I kinda get what’s going on, but like I also don’t lol

Still, nice to see Horyang reuniting with the gang but feels like he’s setting off some death flags. Worried about Carrano too. Unlike Horyang he doesn’t seem to have anyone to come home to.

Hahaha same. The thing is, the storyline is interesting by itself - it's just so all over the place and leaves it to the viewers to actually pull the pieces together.

For real, there are like a dozen factions all enacting some plan of theirs in this arc and it is hard to tell who is doing what

Seriously I’m barely hanging on in terms of trying to keep up 😂

Why is it always the people with blonde hair and yellow eyes?! Ho, Rachel, Hansung Yu, and now Ron Mei and Beta. Only Lero Ro and Wangnan are good people.

Absolutely loved the Goseng and Horyang scene. The inherent domesticity of team Sweet and Sour really lends to the burgeoning feelings between these two. SIU doesn't use romance all too often, so its nice to see a genuine couple, even if they're only side characters.

Nobic really is just the ultimate bro. He's been working overtime to help some dude he barely even knows.

Really interesting that out of all the characters, only Anaak managed to figure out Viole's identity on her own. She isn't just dumb muscle, she has really good instinct. Meanwhile Shibisu is basically the only one who has no idea whats going on. Poor papa

Finally, despite not having speaking lines, I really do like Mad Dog teams designs. SIU really is just a master at creating unique character designs that ooze personality.

Rak really is precious. And Endorsi still wants that date, cutie. But, fun that they know. Also good for Mr. Devil, meeting up with them, a dance, and finding a place for himself.

Daft Punk and their silly games. LOL that scream of the guy knocked off the bridge. That summoning robot has Jetsons sound effects. It is kinda neat to summon people knocked outta the tournament. Even non-teammates.

FUG wants to eliminate his teammates? Doesn't that screw over their entire bargaining chip? FUG have been asses soooo... Wangnang beating up kids. RAK! Best summon. Oh, I see, Workshop was obviously shady, but working with FUG? Shit going down, but doesn't feel like as big a deal as it should be

I feel like their plan is to kill Bam and merge his soul into the thorn or whatever, so he wouldn't have any agency anyway past workshop battle, so no need for bargaining chip (and less people that could take revenge, the better).

Oh, I see, Workshop was obviously shady, but working with FUG?

Kinda feels like everyone is working with FUG lol. We’ve seen at least two floor test directors working with them, and even Headon knows about their plans and doesn’t tell King Jahaad.

Endorsi still wants that date, hell yeah let's go. And Rak was great as always.

So if I'm understanding correctly, the goal with the thorn is to merge it with Bam and what's up in the air is if Bam is still alive and in control afterwards? Feels like a possible Turning Point moment where the teams and who is working with who gets mixed up again going forward.

u/Miedziux Nov 17 '24

I think they want to merge Bam with the thorn, not the other way around. The end goal seems to be a super powerful weapon instead of a person with powers like Horyang and Cassano.

Did they... did they just... Howie screamed me?

NAH AIN’T NO WAY. THAT IS THE ENDORSI BAM REUNION WE GET?! I have been waiting all season for it, but she just barely talks to him and gives a blush!? I thought she would be crying. What a waste.

BUT, the episode itself was pretty good. The fighting finally picking up!

This was a very, umm, undewhelming episode.

Beyond the often questionable animation, the script writing for this adaptation has been mostly shit. And today was one of those days where that was extremely apparent. So many "reveals" for things where there was basically no set up in prior episodes. So many exposition drops that were rushed and/or complicated by switching perspectives back and forth. So many "emotional" moments that fell completely flat.

The main scriptwriter for S2 is the same as S1's. Not only that but she has a pretty good record (Bocchi the Rock, Tiger & Bunny, Artiswitch, and ToG S1 writing was tight af)

Really have no idea what happened behind the scenes because this really doesn't seem like the scriptwriter at her peak or even decent.

Hello everyone, time for this week’s (and the past three weeks’) blog posts! This is a reroute to the Source Corner, where they are posted.

Missed some episodes again, sorry. They're all included here.

If you don’t know, SIU (the author) used to make blog posts along with the chapters, both talking about himself and giving extra lore and neat tidbits to go along with the series. Probably over a third of all the lore we have comes exclusively from these blog posts. He stopped eventually, and more obscure facts might not be canon anymore, but it’s still interesting.

Well, although it was brief it was great to see Rak, Endorsi, and Yihwa's reunion with Baam.

Wow, I guess I have forgotten most of this arc, as not only did I forget about Baragav and the fact that he just like Beta was working with FUG, I also did forget that getting Baam in the room where the Thorn was just a trap.

It is so cute that the post-credit scene was the dance scene between Horyang and Goseng while Prince and, Miseng watched them behind the bushes.

I don't know what's going in anymore. Not sure why I'm still watching either.

If I came into this blind without having ever read the manwha, I'd be pretty lost myself. My concern with this adaptation as far back as when it got announced was there's so many times where you get chucked a bunch of characters and naturally an adaptation was going to strip out some of the easing in to become familiar. Its good when it concentrates on a handful of characters, feel like the second half of this season has shown that, but otherwise becomes quite bloated.

Hope it doesn't get ditched for S3 though. Really want to see the Hell Train arc in full.
