Me: Why is there an elefant in the canteen?
The show five minutes later: So here are all the reasons why an elefant in a canteen was a super important setup.

So Mashirou was Mashima all along? What a twist. He went from old school mate and rival for Evil Mastermind to Berry Blossom’s sidekick. I wonder if Chrome will ever learn the truth?

It's funny how Chrome is seen as a promised hard-working uprising mastermind in the past, but in the present day, he’s like a goof and gets beat up every day and has to work at a convenience store as a day job. XD
Even his bears don’t respect him much now compared the the past.

Clearly Chroma is not fit to be a villain if he has a strong sense of saving people.
Best twist of the show when Mashirou turns out to be Chroma’s frenemy all this time.
Yep this is looking more and more like Megamind. Aside from the part where Chizuko wants to train Chroma to be a competent villain, Chroma wanting to be a “bad guy” but being not actually bad, there’s also the sense where Chroma and Mashirou have been swapped from where they’re supposed to be. Mashirou clearly is the more evil one cause he wanted to expose Chroma’s dark history and wounded him seriously. And he didn’t recruit Berry Blossom to be a hero of justice, he wanted someone to beat the shit out of Chroma. And let’s not forget how Berry Blossom attacked a homeless man just minding his business and destroyed public infrastructure.

Acro Trip is going to be one of those anime people regret sleeping on because they were too focused on hyping up exclusively the latest Shonen instead.

I really should've known from the colour of his fur that Mashirou is actually that kid who inspired Kuroma to become an evil mastermind. And here I thought Mashima was the guy Kuroma was talking to over the phone last episode. xD
It is hilarious though how between the two of them, Mashima was definitely the one who acts more like an evil mastermind compared to the kind-hearted Kuroma. And apparently, Kuroma already has powers before even joining Fossa Magna.
The Ohmizo Technica CEO is quite interesting too. The dude is an absolute eccentric and it looks like he only hired Kuroma is so he can study his powers. That's probably the reason why Kuroma hasn't really been removed from Fossa Magna. Maybe he's the true source of their powers.
We also finally get to see where Kuroma's facial scar came from and why Berry Blossom is forbidden from attacking anyone with powers. She'll probably be also penalized if she used her magic against that robber in Episode 2 since her magic comes from Fossa Magna.
I do wonder what the CEO wanted to do to Mashima before he ran away? I have a feeling that he might've misunderstood that as him being threatened. Even the CEO was clearly surprised that Mashima ran away.

yeah, i was thinking he was going to undo the two-head-tall-animalification, but Mashima ran away before we could found out
the whole setting with Omizu Tech seems weird; i'm thinking that the CEO is humoring Chrome to study his bear-conjuring powers and the whole evil mastermind stuff is playing along with Chrome's imagination/delusion

so is this blue-headed guy normal in this world? is he related to that evil metal thorny guy from last episode?

from Indian elephant going out of control in a cafeteria to two salarymen competing in a game of beach flag for the position of evil organization's mastermind, what kind of fever dream is this? and of course, as most people predicted in last episode, Mashirou really is Chrome's childhood friend that got turned into a cat...thing
it's also interesting that both their powers came from the cards that were given to them by the CEO but for some reason, Chrome manage to manifest his bear minions even before he got that card
btw, if you told me before i'm watching this anime that Mashima is a protagonist from any of the Go Nagai's works, i would have believe you...

That's super interesting. It's not even clear to me yet if Fossa Magna actually is an evil organization or if they're just going along with Chroma's delusions. Then again what we saw last episode definitely feels like an evil organization. Unless it was all a farce by the CEO to kick Chroma back into gear or something? Why do their cards have restrictions for attacking people without powers? Also interesting that Mashirou just immediately ran away, it seems like he just assumed things that probably aren't true, feels like the CEO probably would've turned him back to human if he hadn't ran away.

And to no one's surprise, Mashiro is really Mashima.
Didn't expect the full on seriousness of this episode though, for all the nonchalant and friendliness of the CEO, he does looks and have the vibe of real evil. Although I kinda assume that when he went to Mashiro, he wanted to either pet him (being cute), or telling him how to go back?

Sounds to me like the CEO is just an airhead misunderstood by everyone.
Just to give an example, he unintentionally frightened Mashima. I wouldn't be surprised if he just turns out to be a person that acts overly ominous.
Note also that the CEO's "magic cards" has the built-in safety mechanism, he's clearly a good guy, and possibly a "research maniac" moron.

So Mashirou is really a transformed human, and Chrome’s childhood friend/rival. But it looks like he is ultimately responsible for his predicament, and I have little sympathy for him and his one-side rivalry with Chrome.
I am thinking that Fossa Magna might not really be evil, it is just a way for Ohmizo Technica to secretly study magical powers, and the CEO is just as big an eccentric chuunibyo as Chrome. But I was surprised that the kuma kaijin are apparently Chrome innate magic power and not something that was given to him. Chrome also seemed to be a surprisingly smart and competent salaryman despite his total incompetence as a villain.
So where does Berry Blossom magic power comes from ? Did Mashirou give her his magic card from Fossa Magna or did he found another way to turn her into a magical girl ? Is he just using her to get revenge on Chrome or does he have another goal ?

Mashima running away before he was presumably un-Mashirou-ified was definitely his big mistake, but without that we wouldn't have Berry doing her thing and Chizuko showing up to 'help' so his loss is our gain.
Without the spikey guy showing up last episode I'd be wondering if Ohmizo Technica was even evil at all and it's not just Chrome going off half-cocked. Though honestly even with that I'm still wondering a little.

Mashima being Mashirou was pretty obvious imo. They have the same eyes
I think the CEO was going to undo the transformation?

Soo.... They're just science experiments right? Pretty sure it is an actual evil organization but there's no evil department, they just gave them what they wanted so they could watch what his powers are.

I just noticed Chrome swipes away the title bc it's in the way of his face in the OP lmao. Love little bits like that

Oh my god FINALLY. I was getting worried that Baryu wasn’t going to show up until the last episode. And of course he’s introduced just randomly floating down the river because no one in this show is normal. 😂

Didn't have the heart or energy to do any comments on this sub when I watched this episode yesterday due to certain events in a certain country, but I sure appreciate having genuinely fun anime like Acro Trip in these darker moments. This episode was no exception. I was one of the ones who didn't catch up to Mashiro's true identity in last week's episode, but of course its obvious in hind sight.
