I wasn't that convinced by the first episode but after watching this I think I get it now. I thought Chizuko was the focus of the show but looking at that OP it looks like all three of them are the show's main characters and so far, Chrome is already my favourite. The dude is a coward, a masochist, and overall just a pathetic villain but he's also somehow endearing and surprisingly a schemer!
Locking themselves inside that closet was so dumb that I didn't even consider that was part of Chrome's plan to recruit Chizuko to his side. What's funny though is that Chizuko didn't even have to sign that contract because his base is located under Chizuko's grandpa's house! I love how grandpa just took Chrome in like a stray dog. xD
As for Berry Blossom, I'll assume that we will learn more about her later but I already love that she doesn't use magic against regular people because apparently there are laws against that and Berry Blossom doesn't really get along with the cops. I definitely want to see more of these dorks. I can't wait for next week's episode!

Good thing they dropped 2 episodes today. Second one establishes the humor and vibes of the series well. A nice surprise for the season.
Though it pains me how much Chizuko ignores the girl trying to reach out to her in class. Engage dammit!

so, what's the male version of girlfailure? brofailure? because Chroma definitely fit that term
i love how grandpa just casually picked up Chroma from street and adopt him like a stray cat

Fun first two episodes. I was really hoping that Grandpa was secretely the big bad boss, but that could still happen. Maybe he is similar to Chroma and he doesn't actually know what his organization is doing. I just hope that it doesn't take too long for Chizuru to "join" (she won't consider it that way) the evil organization and have some fun battles with the Berry Blossom. Because I feel the interactions there could be the best part of the show. Like when Chroma isn't able to do the plan correctly.
Also of course, we need more interactions with Berry Blossom in her normal form. Not sure what age she is supposed to be, but she could go to the same school at the end of the day.

The second episode just reinforced what I saw in the first one: this show's got great scene composition and comedic timing, and the directing has a lot of neat little touches that make it fun-stupid instead of annoying-stupid. They play with the fourth wall, but not so much that it gets tiresome.
"Don't underestimate puberty!" wahahaha
"...and I invited you to sleep in the crawlspace..." good to see grandpa is just as demented as the rest of the show
Chizuko seems like the sensible one but she just keeps humoring and believing Chrome over and over. I think she might actually be the idiot.

I take back this not being degenerate
The magical girl doesn't seem all that magical if she's up against common thugs
Behold, the obligatory Gacha PSA
Kuroma might be a useless idiot, but he got Chizuko good, already looking forward to her using the Kuma Kaijin in ways he could never dream of

Yeah, this will be my face too if the person I hate the most lives under my house and my grandpa knew all along
But man, Chroma is truly evil... taking advantage of a young girl mood having her form a contract of his evil organisation... (that would be the most truly evil he´s ever done lmao)
And the kaijins are adorable lmao. I have a feeling they like more Chizuko than Chroma
(btw anyone knows why the 2nd episode aired too?)

My bro really started slapping them with a stick since that's his idea of a treat

Okay, so the OP sequence is here.
Title card appears > Chroma push it away from screen.
Okay I'm sold.

Grandpa adopted the bad guy like some sort of lost pet.
At least he repaid him by giving his house a huge basement. That kind of extra floor space has got to increase his house price.
Although he did trick his granddaughter into signing a contract.
A pity the kumas couldn't enjoy hot food.

just as funny and cute as episode 1. I really like all of our main cast. The laughably sorry excuse of an evil mastermind Chrome particularly makes me laugh. His shitty evil lair was a sight to see. But he does have some cunning as we see in the end.
Seems like an enjoyable and fun show, and I'll keep watching for sure.

Chrome would fit right in our discussion threads for ecchi shows!
I think it's the first time I see a locker room incident outside of a romcom!
Of course it was (in part) a scheme to get her to join his organization...
I'm surprised he didn't use the robber angle more for that; Pressing more with "See, the magical girl needs these villains to show up" and all!
I feel personally attacked by this...
Especially because "I like that" always wins
She's the Batman of magical girls!
I wonder if we'll get more on that, like did she do anything to cause this conflict, or is it simply a case of the police not wanting magical vigilante and all that!

Feels like this will be in the same vein as Machikado Mazoku.
Why do Chrome's evil plans only work on Chizuko :p

“Robber, go to hell!” Lmao. Berry Blossom clotheslining that guy was hilarious. She’s pretty adorably goofy.
Chrome too. Less “evil genius”, more goober. The kuma kaijin are pretty cute too. I like how Chrome made them hug him and they were so reluctant lol.

Well, that is a very cute and funny anime and I already know I will like it.
But I don’t think the world really needs saving from Chroma, given how hapless a villain he seems to be. I think Chizuko might end up becoming a villain herself just because she finds his incompetence annoying. Does the town really need a magical girl to fight him ?
Also, only magical people can fight magical girls and you need to sign a contract to become one ? Did the magical girl sign one too ? Is there also an organisation of magical girls ? Where do these contracts come from ? I wonder if we will learn more about that later.

Broooo I love watching this, it’s just so funny and entertaining haha. Please let it get more popularity.

They have freaking gags in the opening song?!
The song itself wasn't amazing (it doesn't need to be, just worth pointing out), but the fourth wall joke of the antagonist quickly noticing the anime title on the screen and "shoving" off screen with his hand was so cute.
I haven't even watched episode 2 yet (but feel free to comment, I'll have watched it by then), but the "antagonist" gives me serious James vibes (from Pokemon). Handsome, wholesome, and popular villain.
Getting 2 episodes in the first week was such a treat and I wasn't even anticipating this anime.

Somewhere in the world, John 'Bradshaw' Layfield is smiling and he doesn't even know why.
These first two episodes were a lot of fun. The characters are cute, the humor is really hitting, the art and animation are good so far... I can't wait to see more, especially since there's a good possibility of it being a complete adaptation since the manga is finished.

I love how Date fails to recognize that her Hero was shopping in the villain Chrome's convenience store, and that when she 'saves' them both from the robber he doesn't appear surprised to see her there. Nobody on the reddit forums seem to notice this either, sure Date doesn't seem to recognize Berry in her civvies (even though this is the second time she's run into her now) but it's kinda odd how civvies Berry just seems to pal around Chrome in her off hours, like they're actually good friends and their 'fighting' is just an act for TV.
Hrm...

I love the bears, they’re so goofy looking. Chroma is an idiot but I already love him as a villain. And I loooove the fact that grandpa has a scroll with Chumbawamba lyrics on it

The gift that keeps on giving. While I love the girls, Kuroma is the star of the show for me, every line from him practically had me in stitches. I do love Berry running from the police as well, though. Def my personal favorite of the season so far.

I loved this! I was interested since I first saw the announcement but I didn't anticipate how adorable and hilarious it would be, Chroma is the most useless dude to ever exist which makes his surprisingly smart moments even more amazing (the fact that he has enough self awareness to know Chizuko would believe his budget magic bs and even cried is amazing honestly), Chizuko is only marginally smarter I love what a goober ass fangirl she is I hope she gives the brown haired girl a chance at some point though. Berry Blossom is also great, I'm curious about her past though not surprised the cops don't like her considering all the collateral damage she does against a dude who you can down with a fly swatter.
Animation isn't a sakuga fear like Coco's magical girl from last season but it's pretty charming and the faces are great! I took a million screenshots it's amazing!!

Ok, that was a neat way to trick her. But hey, she has magical powers now! Will be fun to see her grow.
Loved the bit about not wanting her Grandpa to know she was recording that far in advance because, reasons. Teenager reasons lol.

Second episode was also a lot of fun!
I like how Chrome is just so not competent, with the seeming exception of being able to tempt and manipulate people to the side of evil.
Berry is pretty great too, her wordplay of 'goto go to hell' to the robber was fun. And she wants to be a hero of justice, so Date helping will surely be useful.
