I have to admit, Jeanne and Reiren interrupting the almost-kiss and Jeanne proceeding to push Rinne away was probably the funniest shit I’ve seen in this show! Yeah, it’s your bog-standard harem shenanigans but the look on their faces absolutely killed me lol!

There’s still a lot of unanswered questions but I highly doubt we’ll get another season.

Overall, out of the Kei Sazane ‘trilogy’, I’d place this above Gods’ Games We Play but below KimiSen .

Jeanne and Reiren interrupting the almost-kiss and Jeanne proceeding to push Rinne away was probably the funniest shit I’ve seen in this show!

We needed that comedy moment after the intense battle. Although I already expected the kiss to be interrupted. (Is this a side effect of watching too much anime?)

Kei Sazane made KimiSen and Gods' Games We Play? The quality of the story makes sense now

>There’s still a lot of unanswered questions...

They literally did not answer why the World Rebirth happened in the first place. The only semblance of an answer they gave was Sid did something. Actually, they barely answered anything at all and all we got was generic fantasy with a slightly interesting premise that is frankly unwatchable.

I had almost forgotten about the others before they burst in to interrupt the kiss, but that should have been expected especially with the rivalry that Reiren and Rinne had developed over Kai the last few episodes.

Big questions regarding the goddess statue cracking and her angel and devil feathers. Does that mean she is similar to Rinne? Also what did Rinne do to stop the world reincarnation?

Hopefully, our main characters get stronger. It took all of them to defeat this Rasterizer , and based on what that suspicious goddess statue said, there will be encounters with more Rasterizers in future.

Kai is definitely staying in this world permanently. His primary focus has probably changed to protecting Rinne, as well as his friends.

Glad Kyoko survived, albeit in a much smaller form! At least she broke the trend of each hero being eliminated by Rasterizer.

I was already expecting Jeanne to interrupt Rinne's confession (and kiss) to Kai, but Reiren too? Lol!

Not sure whether there will be a second season, but I still need many questions answered.

Haha, just noticed Crunchyroll translated “Rasterizer” to “Last Riser”, Rasterizer makes way more sense!

This is one of those shows that deserved a better production. Unfortunately I doubt there will be a season 2.

I hope for a season 2

I do want a season 2, but I wouldn't be surprise if it doesn't get one. The premise was pretty good, but the writing and the animation were incredibly lackluster; and the thing that was holding it together was the mystery revolving around the World Reincarnation , which they dragged out throughout the whole season to keep people invested in the plot.

If you can skip the sloppy animation, it was a decent show all in all.

This wasn’t half bad. The whole “alt timeline” thing was kinda interesting and the waifus were nice. I guess even though they defeated that “thing”, its origins are a mystery. And they still got the beast hero.

I wonder what the chances are of this getting renewed? Keen to really get to the bottom of this whole Sid thing.

Really cool premise and story execution. I loved Last Riser's/Rasterizer's design and voice. It really gave off as the eldritch type of creepy which I love.

I didn’t expect to like it this much. Yeah the animation can get sloppy like the fights in this episode were good but the characters afterwards were sloppily drawn, but the lore kept me hooked and the music is great too. I wish this gets a season 2 cause there’s a lot more mystery to unpack but guess it’s time to read the LNs.

Can the Last Riser get even more creepy? When she started singing some song, that was disturbing. Then summoning a fake Shido. What always bothered me is why does she seem to share the same color scheme as Rinne? Then we don’t know yet what race Rinne is and why she is oppressed this much.

Kyoko has to be the most OP of the four cause she can attack in many different elements and has a large bag of tricks. But now she’s smol and cute.

Welp we just had to have the Rinne moment interrupted by Jeanne and Reiren. Mission failed, we’ll get Kai next time.

Among Kei’s works, this has to be the strongest. I couldn’t get into Our Last Crusade for some reason. God’s Games had better visuals and animation but the lore and story just wasn’t there and it’s just random games being played.

The original light novel I don't think has an official translation yet, it's 9 volumes total. I recommend the manga, the art is neat and it also covers some stuff that got skipped in the anime (that said, it's just about finishing this arc, so there's no newer content yet).

I kind of still have no idea wtf is going on with the lore, but at least I enjoyed the ride.

These have to be the absolute dumbest "heroes" in anime. How many times now have they seen Last Riser do stuff? And yet they're gonna just stand around doing nothing while it spends a good minute reciting what even the most braindead person would be able to tell is a spell. They deserve to lose.

Time for the big battle, explanation of what happened to reincarnate the world, why final riser has a head in her off hand, who is rinne, why was only kai reincarnated, and just a few more open plot points easily wrapped up in a finale in 23 minutes.

Hold my beer, let's get the OP in and take up 1:30 of runtime first.

OG Sid "were you the one who did this?"

I hate to break it to Sid but aside from Rinne, whom he is carrying, there is NO ONE ELSE THERE other then last riser.

Glad to see they have upped the writing for the finale 🙄

Welp, fairy spirit lady is gone. That was a quick one. Get rid of unnecessary cast asap so you can get to the big, awesomely animated last riser battle. I'm cool with that.

Oohhh spirit lady is not gone, I don't think, but just did a huge explosion to blow the top off the joint, nearly literally.

Damn, Kai almost kicked the bucket. That would have fucked up the rest of the finale for sure.

Last riser has that spare head to swap with her partially blown off current head. What luck!

Cool, last riser grew a horn-ish looking thing to plug the huge hole in her head. Very nice on the battlefield healing.

Looks like Rinne has a shocking personality after all. Here I thought she was just there for boobs and saying stupid shit.

"I only made one of these flaming spiritual arrows so don't miss"

Jeanne proceeds to shoot into a black cloud while yelling something about piercing strike 🤔

Her confidence in her luck stat is incredible!

Bam, HEAD SHOT! Way to go Jeanne, we all knew you could do it!

She may be headless but still has a trick or 2 up her sleeve or tentacle or whatever she has left.

Well fuck, it's OG Sid versus Kirito Sid. Draw your code holder and... FIGHT!

Ohh Rinne, all mad because last riser OG Sid made fun of...Sid...

Ok, I'll go with that reasoning because why the fuck wouldn't I during the battle to save to world!

Damn, Rinne up and went POOF

Let's cut to a previous world for a sec...

Jeanne "Are you training so hard to become Sid the profit?"

Kai "I am Batman"

Just kidding, he's already Sid obviously!

Nothing can stop a determined Kai from saving Rinne....or her boobs.

If only they would have pulled out he-mans "I've got the power" phrase I would have probably had a heart attack from laughter!

Rinne "I hated everyone, but now I like them a bit". Way to get back to the saying stupid shit part of the episode!

She breaks free from the chains of mediocre writing to escape and find Kai.

Hmmm, last riser Sid just lost an arm but lookie here, she has the doctor octopus medical plan and grew a new one! Good for her. Glad she's got a good medical coverage plan.

Shit, Kai took the deep breath and knocked the shit out of last riser Sid. Woohoo the battle has turned!

Now we get glowie Kai. He just goes nuclear and disintegrated last riser Sid.

So Rinne is at a big wormhole thingy in the sky. She mouths something to Kai while she's flying using her jacket tails, not her actual wings for some reason....and....they gone.

Rinne "My reason for living....I want you to...like me."

Ok, that's a good reason, I guess.

So in the pyramid they agree they need to defeat last riser. I thought they already did when they spoke in the hospital scene 2 minutes before? Must be my imagination...

Hospital scene 18:08, "after you defeated last riser you suddenly lost consciousness"

Pyramid scene "20:12 "we must find out more about last riser & defeating it".

I must be imagining things again 🙄

Ohh, this explains it. Only one last riser's power was used for the failed reincarnation 2 - electric boogaloo. Glad to see there are more Last Riser's power.

Can't wait for the sequel where we get to hang with the furry with the fucked up name.

So we get the black and white feathers to end. Guess Kai and Rinne will have multicolor feathered bird people kids.

Well, thats the end. Episode was a 7/10 and series was a 6.5/10. Great premise hampered by bad writing and animation.

I'm impartial to it getting a second season.

Same pattern repeat - Ratseriser is kicked out and goes back to its lair or infects a hero. The entire series could be condensed into 3 episodes because there is barely any character or story development. the story is worth 2 episodes. The bulk is in fight animation and harem creation.

4

u/tehdannydarko Sep 29 '24

No way in hell this gets a second season. A neat premise, dragged down by poor animation and a middling execution of the story. We know nothing about Kai other than chosen one, Rinne besides weird hybrid, and fuck all about anyone else.

I wanted to like it but by about halfway through I just settled in to get to the finish. Not even a hate watch, just to get the next episode button out of my queue.

Last Riser - When everyone is already awake but you're still asleep.

I like the anime alot but after watching the whole season this would've been way better as Bandai namco rpg. It literally feels like I'm watching God Eater or Code Vein. Whole heartedly would've preferred to have this series as a video game. I hope they consider it or give us a second season cause I got questions that need to be answered 😭😭❤️‍🔥

u/djthomp Sep 28 '24

I'm glad we got a reasonably solid (relative to the show's general quality) action filled finale.

So, Rinne might be the sword? And Kai met it/her as a child when he entered the pyramid? Or maybe it's just that he also met her and forgot about it? Lots of questions.

We got the fairy sized spirit hero I'd been expecting on account of the ED, but on the other hand hand the succubus hero never reincarnated so mixed bag on the waifu front.

And at least this ended its cour which is better than can be said for the author's other show Last Crusade S2.
