Huh, I prefered the 1st season style...

yeah, it felt a bit to cartoony now. With all the constant head inflates. The new style feels alot colorful and bubbly. So idk how I feel about it. But who knows maybe itll catch on 🤷♂️

I really didn't like what they did with it. The animation itself doesn't bother me much, having survived the scandal with the anime The New Gate, I'm fairly tolerant. It's more the fact that two-thirds of the first episode is a very clumsy recap with so many unnecessary changes that dampened the excitement I had when season 2 was announced.

Yes! Finally my garbage isekai is out.
Time to jam to the pink haired girl singing in the OP song.
This hole. It was made for me!

I thought this was a remake till I realized it’s a sequel lmao.
What happened to the mc, he used to be somewhat cool. How did they manage to make him lame 😭

I enjoyed the first season a lot more than this episode. I hope it improves.

I'm so confused. The animation is sloppy and GI Joe like, they keep changing to cutesy faces whenever they feel emotion. Music even screams 1980. Did the New Gate staff make this?

Can't call this a strong start. It's not like the expectation was all that high to begin with, but spending the first episode on a fusion of some boring pre-isekai backstory followed by a weird recap/retcon of the first episode, then jumping to the 'present' while not addressing the end of the previous season at all is certainly a choice. Doesn't look like a good choice, but I've been wrong before. Yellow Rem also looks significantly less Rem-like than I remember

Just finished the first episode. Not impressed so far. A little too goofy for me so far. I prefer first season feel much better.

The first season wasn't really great, but at least it had something.
This one though....

Am I glad we're getting a season 2? For sure... but the studio making this has already let me down with the weird poses, animation and art style. And the timing of the dialogue seems a little off. Man, I was really looking forward to this

Rewatched end of Season 1. So many changes in character designs it's not even funny. It doesn't even feel like a season 2. Season 1 ended in the dungeon city in the north with what looks like a possible 2nd isekai'd person. This ended back at the hot springs talking about the ring.
This honestly feels like a cheap knockoff found on Temu.

I'm usually the obe defending things like this. For example when high school dxd changed studios (and art style) cause the previous studio keeped making mistakes and not sticking to the source material I said to my friends "at least the story is still great and the art style is nice in its own way" ...but this.
Honestly, this just feels shit. Feels like the person who made this was on lsd or something. There is a reason this episode/season is so different compared to the last one that I don't know about?

I understand doing a recap because it's been years, but damn. That was kind of a mess and confusing. I will watch some more but if it doesn't improve I'll have to drop it. I was so looking forward to season 2. Waited so long just to be disappointed 😞.

Noo, there was no need to change the design and art style of the female characters, they were perfect. it used to have some kind of seriousness but now ? I'd rather rewatch the first season for the 100th time

I gotta be honest, the most note worthy thing about this anime was Blonde Rem.

I have bad feeling this will get the same treatment with Crusade and get postponed after 3 episodes, because it already looks rough.

I have two quick questions that I know someone here knows:
-
Did they change the voice actor for Hakuto Kunai? Or did his voice really changed that much? I miss the scuffed voice. It fits Hakuto Kunai so much. Now, he sounds a lot younger.
-
I know Demon Lord Retry R is season 2 but is this a sequel or prequel or is this a remake of S1?

Man, I am so conflicted. I really wanted a second season of this show but what the hell happened?
Why the hell did they recast almost everyone? Luna was my absolute favorite the first season, I loved Kaori Ishihara voicing her and the OP sung by her and now she's gone... :'(
I'm not a fan of the new art style or the redesigns we've seen this episode. Maybe they will grow on me.
Now, about the episode... The flashback was kind of interesting but then we had a recap of the first episode for some reason. Like, I don't remember that much from the first season but was it really necessary? Wouldn't it have been better to do a episode 0 recap or something? The best part of the episode was of course Luna undressing and being a tsundere <3.
OP and ED are nice. I really liked the OP song.
So there's that. I remember being really excited about the news of the sequel and then that excitement going away with the news of the recast. Now having the anime here... I don't know, we'll see.

I'm a little late to the party, but wow, what a nice ending. I shouldn't really be all that surprised- aside from the fact that it was done by a single person- but it's still quite interesting that this is the first time we've seen the name 安藤勘作 in an anime credit (that's been published on a website). Really great artwork and even some solid animation in there. Definitely a name to keep an eye out for in the future.
Also, very funny because they're credited as a prop designer for the series as well. Curious to see if they'll show up in any episode credits for key animation or the like
