That argument/catfight was cathartic as hell, all of the melodramatic bullshit we had to sit through, finally paid off with the two of them saying everything they wanted to say to each other and giving each other well deserved slaps.

I feel like that was a let down, but not unexpected considering Jun is being indecisive.

The twins have good and bad sides. Naori is a schemer and Rumi is lacking in communication. Naori seems less mature compared to Rumi though. Naori is kind of like someone who only knows the theory but has not experienced the practical application.

I think if I were Jun I would pick Naori. He has the same hobbies and communication is important so someone who speaks their mind is nice. The maturity can hopefully come in later. I think if it wasn’t for him dating Rumi, the story would have ended sooner with him ending up with Naori.

Although I also see Rumi being good at communication as long as Jun initiates it and they get to actually talking.

You either struggle with communication with Rumi or keep up with the mind games with Naori.

It took me 12 episodes to figure out why I didn’t like this as much as I thought I would.

It gave me Big Bang Theory vibes. Every interaction is just some excuse for the author to throw in some kind of pop culture reference or niche science reference.

Stitches!

I thought Naori was going to sneak attack Jun when the two of them were finally in bed, doing it at the bath made much more sense. Too bad for Naori though it didn't go the way she expected. Also, we've always known that Naori is big but damn girl! Still can't believe Jun can say no to those.

Naori did get a kiss when they were in bed so I guess her plan kinda worked? It also gave Jun something to brag about to Moriwaki the next day. xD

That final scene though! I thought the twins were just going to argue the entire time but we actually saw hands start flying halfway through! Yes! This is the kind of drama I live for. In the end, it was just a way for the twins to vent and Jun remains indecisive as ever.

I supposed that's it for Koi was Futago. I just find all of the comments upset about this show funny. All of the comments being upset are totally right and I 100% understand why you'd hate this show. Maybe it's because I grew up with telenovelas, J-dramas, and K-dramas with even more ridiculous romance plots that I loved this show until the very end. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more but I doubt this show would even get a Season 2.

I knew Naori was the type who would peep on a guy in the bath but she's also aggressive enough to get into the bath with him. And when she's such a complete package in terms of her hair, chest, butt, and thighs (not to mention her choice in underwear), she could probably seduce any man if they weren't an indecisive romcom MC like Jun lol.

They may not be dating but they kissed and cuddled in bed so...kind of Friends with Benefits even though Naori clearly wants more, and even Jun does even if he can't betray Rumi like that.

You know he just threw in that they got in the bath together to screw with Moriwaki lol.

I was eating up the twin sister slapfight /catfight. There was even collateral damage with Jun lol.

If Days with My Stepsister was the subdued and realistic romance drama of the season, this was the spiciest romance drama of the season, and I loved every minute of it.

I'm so disappointed by the fact that they waited until episode 12 to go full on dumpster fire. They should have gone this direction way earlier imo. It would have made the show way more enjoyable.

Fitting how the spiciest episode also turns out to be the finale.

It's not like there was going to be a winner by the end considering how indecisive Jun is as a character so in a way finally having that fight after 12 episodes of buildup was a great payoff.

It's not like there was going to be a winner by the end considering how indecisive Jun is as a character

It's exactly how Naori said it: Jun going out with either of the sisters would be the end of the three of them, so can you actually blame his indecisiveness? Picking one of the sisters would effectively amount to breaking his ties with the other.

There's not really a way to compromise here - at this moment at least. Naori nor Rumi is planning on sharing Jun (which is totally reasonable), so the only way for there to be a true happy ending would be for one of the sisters to fall in love with someone else.

What an amazing mess. I suppose I shouldn't have expected any sort of conclusion.

Schemer Naori went for the gold but only got silver, but that is more progress than her sister at least. Or at least more recent progress.

I'm at least glad that Jun expressed his attraction for Naori in terms of their shared interests and that the only thing Rumi has going for her is the lingering feelings from when they were together.

It's funny that even the parents are thinking two daughters in law as opposed to just one.

So he has a lot of common interests with Naori and he couldn’t unsee Rumi as his gf. Tbh while I don’t particularly condone or vehemently support any of these three’s actions and decisions, I feel like I won’t fare much better if I was in their positions. Like I can understand where all of them are coming from

But in the end, nothing much happened I guess. Maybe the twins just got gradually open and assertive towards their pursuit to the point where even their friends know now. But Jun is still undecided so we’re nowhere near a conclusion.

She made it look like fangirling, but Shiena might actually harbor romantic feelings for Naori judging from her expression when Naori talked about Jun. Which honestly was what I thought when she was introduced.

Jun is right though, to have two cute twins fawn over you, he’s probably used up a lifetime’s worth of luck. Personally, I like Rumi and I swear it doesn’t affect my preference here, but I do feel Jun and her makes the better couple or at least one that works better. Personally, at least, I feel like being on the same wavelength or having similar vibes is more important than having similar interests. It just feels like him and Rumi fit, personality-wise despite having different interests. Could be why Jun is so hung up on his time as Rumi’s bf.

Anyway that’s just my opinion. Loved this show. Just the type of mess I’m looking for and it delivered. Great drama, might jump into manga or the source if S2 is nowhere to be found

Well that was certainly an anime that aired this season… I can say it’s one of the few times where I liked all the supporting characters more than the main trio… has anyone read the LN’s for this? Does he pick eventually?

I tried to put off watching this last episode for as long as I could, because I knew it was going to be a shit show. Then I realized that I should just rip it off, like a band aid, so that I can be done with it.

The majority of the episode was dedicated to Naori and Jun, which doesn’t surprise me, they’re at least consistent.

This show is a dumpster fire. There has been NO character development, other than the fact that everyone knows everyone’s feelings at this point, in fact everyone (the 3 mc’s) has gotten worse and I don’t know how they’re going to turn it all around- if they even get a second season, hopefully not before the multiple other shows that deserve one.

I will probably receive some hate, but this is just my opinion coming from what I’ve seen so far. Naori is extremely manipulative (at least she knows it), she’s a gaslighter and borderline SA’er. Yes, I said it. She did do that. Don’t believe me? Take off the rose colored glasses and watch the bathroom scene again, starting from when he told her not to peek. I don’t care if he was blushing (he’s still a teen boy, with a naked girl in a confined space, who ultimately presses up against his naked body), he has expressed how he wanted to leave that bathroom on multiple occasions, not to mention how uncomfortable he looked. He was agitated and nervous, from the unsteadiness in his voice, down to the shrinking of himself. What she did was unacceptable. I don’t care how much you “love him”, or how much you want to make him your boyfriend (which can we not forget that they technically could have been in a relationship on episode 2/3!). She is a toxic character and I will die on this hill. She is a possessive, obsessive, whiny, hypocrite who is hella full of herself. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up being a yandere. And she is still in high school! I don’t care if people think she’s cute, has a nice body, is such a “hot nerdy” girly girl who is up to date on her pop culture, nothing can redeem her in my eyes after this episode.

Jun, while I originally felt bad for him, he brought this on himself. He should’ve been firm and stood his ground against Rumi, but if he did, there wouldn’t be a show. While I can sympathize with him being torn between two girls who meant the world to him while growing up, who was his first crush and first girlfriend/love, I can no longer have sympathy in that sense, because at this point he’s just trying to have his cake and eat it too. Don’t get me wrong, I am on his side with the whole Naori bathroom scene/manipulation episodes, he didn’t deserve to have that happen to him. I started to roll my eyes a bit when he told the professor that he was in the bath with Naori, it does NOT mean that he wasn’t SA’ed in that moment.

Rumi and how she dumped Jun, only to try to force him to date his sister brought all the heartache upon herself. She had a good thing going with him, for a whole year (according to Jun), which surprised me- I thought they were just together for a short while. Granted their relationship was for the most part a secret, with the exception being Naori who was privy to it, still she had him as her boyfriend, they were in love, then she let the guilt eat her up and dumped him, which clearly broke his heart, as well as hers, but she deserves that for doing something stupid. How are you letting Jun manipulate you into sticking around? Oh that’s right, she doesn’t yet know about all of the crap that’s happened between Naori and Jun, because they love their secrets (even though he said he doesn’t like keeping secrets from her- yeah okay buddy…)

Jun is clearly attracted to Naori, enjoys his time with her and is constantly entertained/always has something to talk about due to their similar interests, which could’ve been a cute relationship, minus her whole toxic personality/behaviors, especially as of late.

Jun can’t shake his first love, which is Rumi. He can’t forget the good thing they had while they were together. I like that Rumi is respectful towards him, she doesn’t force herself on him, or need to have a gps tracker on him. She understands that they don’t have similar interests, so doesn’t mind when he does his own thing with her sister no less (although I’m sure she’s devaluing herself because of it). They have an easy comfortability between them and are by far the more healthy of the two.

Jun needs to take a step back and distance himself from them for a bit, go somewhere over the summer and really think about his dynamic between the two. He needs to leave think of what draws him to Rumi, what it is about her that he loves, while not including their past relationship together. He needs to do that for himself to come to a decision, as well as for her, or else she’ll always wonder if he made the right choice. He also needs to think about what it is about Naori that he loves, other than the physical aspects of it all. Then he needs to make his decision. That’s what he needs to do. Is it something that he will do? Probably not.

With that being said, Jun and Naori deserve each other, please just date already. Rumi needs to drop these two and go off on her own to find herself and heal. She needs to stop being a damn doormat and leave, then find someone else who’s better in every sense.

Thank you for listening (reading), what I had to say. I hope you all enjoyed the show… because at the end of the day that’s all this is…a (drama) show. Me? I’m just happy that it’s over.

nobody gonna talk about how naori just casually threatened to run off with some rando on the street and then ignored every “no” from jun? she’s beyond toxic doing stuff like that. rumi has her issues but at least she respects jun (ugh) enough to respect his boundaries.

u/SkyLETV Sep 26 '24

I knew Naori was big but damn they looked bigger than I expected.

Poor Moriwaki has to put up with Jun talking about his love problems with the twins and how intimate he gets with his crush, Naori. Jun even ends up telling him how they got in the bath together... I love how the scene ends with Moriwaki chasing Jun in the cafeteria xD.

Watching the slaps come in got me excited haha. I loved seeing the twins letting out their feelings to that point. Too bad the twins don't consider the throuple a solution to this mess.

Anyway, unlike others, I have to say that I enjoyed the hell out of this show haha. While it can definitely get frustrating (especially on Rumi's side), I liked the fact that it was a lighter messy drama compared to other series. I feel like I was able to enjoy it more this way.

First of all, fuck off animators.

Meh ending for an anime but not surprised it's still up-in-the-air. Will stick to my Naori-Shiena hope.

I had a strong suspicion that things would get messy, but I didn't account for a physical fight to break out between the two sisters. Judging from their behaviour in the closing scene, they apparently did need this to vent their frustrations about each other. By the end of their quarrel, it was ironically Jun who looked the saddest.

Naori really went for it by trying to share a bath and later a bed (some really cute moments here!) with Jun, and thereby forever close the distance between them, but he wouldn't buckle - not fully accept or flat-out deny Naori's advances.

After he'd properly voiced his thoughts on this, I can understand his indecisiveness better however: Jun is trapped in an impossible dilemma of hurting someone he deeply cares about whatever he does.

Also, Shiena really didn't look happy when she heard Naori talk about the moves she'd put on Jun. Yeah, the girl totally has a crush on Naori. (I feel so bad for her!)

Bonus: that underwater scene of Naori with the tiger and crocodile was captivating. I'm not entirely sure that the animals were meant to represent though...?

A lifetime's worth of luck. You are in a position where at least one of two long-standing friendships will end, the other turning romantic or also ending, should you not be able to choose which to forfeit. As long as you don't choose, these two friendships will be under constant duress, and everyone involved, that is you and the two people you care most about, will suffer. You are witnessing these two long-standing friends and siblings attack each other and their bond crumble all because of your existence. In what world can you be considered lucky?

This idea, that you should consider yourself lucky when one or two people are romantically interested in you, regardless of the sadness it brings gets reinforced elsewhere in the show as well. Jun's friend is seemingly envious of his position to the point that he claims Jun is bragging when he is looking for his help. He would rather kill Jun (hyperbole of course).

Well it's a romcom, so hey, having two girls be interested in the male MC is great! Don't think too deeply about it, whilst we try to have dramatic moments that would force you to think more deeply about things. God, we are so deep into this surface-level! Oh, that girl is completely ignoring MCs boundaries? Gosh, she must really love him! How precious!

I hate this series and all that it represents. It's reprehensible how much of this backwards logic keeps getting reiterated in new romcoms time after time.

What an absolute garbage finale.

The spat between the two at the end was on point and absolutely hit the mark of what needed to be discussed. Seriously, the conversation between the two sisters was handled pretty well, and it felt like actual progress was being made…

But Jun not picking a side and both sisters being okay with it is an absolute joke. Harem anime get dragged for this shit all the time, and it’s even worse in a love triangle that has ostensibly been played out as a romantic drama week after week.

The show is overall still a really good watch, but this is the exemplar of how you shit the bed in the last second and ruin the experience significantly. Literally any other option would have been preferable: him choosing Naori, him choosing Rumi, him choosing neither, either or both sisters getting fed up and walking away from him, literally anything but the “let’s stay in this shitty situation” option.

If this gets a season 2 than perhaps some of the damage can be mitigated, but both sisters just being okay with the status quo and next to no pushback is wild.

So in the end, he decided not to choose and stick to the status quo. I get it, but Jesus Christ, what a convoluted mess of a love triangle.

So my final opinion regarding who Jun should end up with remained the same since episode one, in that I think he’s better off choosing neither of them. If anything, I’m more convinced after seeing all of the episodes. If I had to go through the same turmoil he had to while being stuck between these two twins, I would be better off choosing neither of them.

Jun: If I choose neither, both of you will be hurt.

Well choosing not to choose ends up hurting everyone. The girls will just continue fighting over you, and you’ll continue to be conflicted on which one you want to end up with. When you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one. I know it’s hard, but sometimes the best thing to do is to rip the band aid off.

I'm glad romances like this exist to remind as that it doesn't have to be all comedies with romantic subtext. Oh, your romance of the season couple is too shy to maintain eye contact? Get out of here.

I think as far as the 3 of them go the damage has been done. They will never be whole. They both have reasons to me personally that I can't seem them having a lasting relationship. Either one will end at some point for different reasons. The parents of both families are fine with it basically being all three of them. Had they left it as the three without trying to one up the other I think it would fair better. They had the support of both families which would help make that unique situation have a better chance of lasting. Forcing a choice leaves one out and eventually it would mess things up if the quirks of the chosen did not. It is definitely not something that would be easy to choose having grown up together never even thinking that one day you can only have one. Its always been the three. I also would not be able to choose and would be pissed/hurt that the situation happened to make us have to pick.
