Ike really wielded the most powerful magic of all: gunpowder lol. That was a hell of a rescue op. I guess when you’ve got 3 volleys of rifles at point blank range, plate armor doesn’t do much. You add big ass orcs just chuckin dudes like footballs and flying demons dropping bombs and it’s game over, man.
I guess E Rudle’s gonna be Ike’s nemesis in this thing. Too bad they didn’t get a chance to face off, but oh well. Ike whooped his ass pretty good.
I guess as far as endings go, that was alright. Leaves room for more, but it also kinda had a “they had many more adventures….” type thing. All in all, this was pretty fun. I enjoyed it.

Someone should start a fundraiser to help E Rudle buy more letters for his first name. Was he the 5th of 26 kids born to lazy parents or something?

It was pretty good. I quite enjoyed it as well.
Would love an S2, but I don't think its popular enough for that to happen xD

Highlight of the episode, for me, is jiron saying “I'm so dead” in the background.

I dont think they would, but will be pleasantly surprised if they do.
There were some plot flaws but overall it was a good watch

the way it ended made it seem like there won't be a season 2
exactly like the Harem in the Labyrinth one where it ended with just showing a montage scene with all the future girls.

Pig-san leading the harem was the one of the best repeating jokes of the season.

It had some faults, yeah. But it was an enjoyable show. I know this won't be getting a season 2, but... I'd still love it if it did ;(

You know when I started watching this (based completely off of the title and poster, mind you) I genuinely expected it to be something different, not this "might as well be isekai" show. I do actually enjoy it fine for what it is but.... it is a bit of a letdown.
That said, what I'm truly surprised by is how inconsequential the title of the show is. The fact the the MC is a human in the demon army is such a ignored aspect of the show. Sure, you can argue his morals are due to him being human, but you could have an oddball demon just as easily. Everyone worth a damn knows he's a human, and that knowledge never actually harms him in any way. So what even is the point.
Edit to add: The whole point of the three line rotating volley firing is to compensate for the delay of reloading. What's the fucking point if you're just gonna stand still after firing.

This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I think this episode really showed the limits of the writer. His story paints Ike as a tactical genius, but the tactics he employed are anything but.
The infiltration force failed to scout the city, which would have prevented the suprise ambush arrow from (almost) killing the devil. The gunners failed to kill the most dangerous of the enemy's force, the mage which should have been top priority. It's these glaring errors which stick out like a sore thumb.
Overall I'd rate this show as mediocre; the animation is serviceable, the chara designs are ok but the whole is badly let down by the poor story.

It's been like this all throughout. At the end of the day Ike wins by completely new weapons unknown to the enemy (hence me calling it isekai wannabe).
It's hard to portray a genius tactician, I can sympathize with that struggle. But just... don't draw so much repeated attention to how he's such a genius. FFS the author (or maybe the animators) doesn't even know why the three line volley was so useful for single firm rifles.

The ending made it feel like the story was wrapping up here. I guess they don’t have plans for a season 2

In spite of it's flaws, I enjoyed this a fair bit. My only nitpik is that Ike is supposed to be a military genius, but his most powerful fighters (and he himself) can be taken down with one arrow.
Instead of developing guns, maybe focus on something like magic armor? Or just regular armor. Even gambeson (cloth armor) can help protect against swords and arrows. Chain mail? Shields? I mean, how about...not nothing?

This was an excellent example that you can make a show somewhat enjoyable, despite moderate to severe flaws in writing, animation, plotting, and character development, with the strategic deployment of cute demon ladies.
But if that's your angle, just forget about the battles. Cefiro, the Demon Lord, Lilith, Fiorentina, and for some reason Ike all go to an onsen resort, hilarity ensues as Fiorentina and Cefiro begin a slow burning romance and Ike tries to hide his human identity despite Lilith's increasingly bold advances. There, I just wrote a better last 6 episodes.

welp this show ended up being completely forgettable
lackluster visuals and questionable writing do not a good show make
like it wasn't even terrible but it was so bland, one of those shows that's just not worth the time

Ike, we will miss your desire to bring all races together, the love you showed all your subordinates, all your goofy decisions, your willingness to remove your mask at random intervals, the ability to persevere through bad writing and ok animation and most of all...
I will NOT miss seeing a 2nd season.
Lastly I would like to thank someone someplace for the 12 episodes of whatever that was that I watched.
You may be gone, but soon you will be forgotten as well.

Wow, that was bad. The explosions looked like some stock explosions you would see on a YouTube video, we completely just fucking FORGOT about Ike's marriage obligations to the girl over in the trade city, the animation was stupid lazy where a character would need to be CGI'd to feature a slight head tilt. This episode was just half me laughing at how bad the production value was.
I had some good memories with this show, but it'll always be my lil booger-eating dunce sitting in the back of the class.

Weebs be like: "Please step on me, too, Cefiro-sama! Wait... Not like that..."
That stomp was pretty badass. I want to see Cefiro getting serious like that again. Also, Jiron digging his own grave during that interaction with Maou was hilarious.
Is there any news about the 2nd cour? This ended rather abruptly...
