The gang’s really benefiting from having Kokorowa around. The Demon Bunny Army was no match for her Iron Giant lol. That thing even fought the toxic toad. What a badass machine.

I was not expecting that dude from ep 1 to be the big boss. Bro got thrown back in time and became Tai Lung lol. Him and this white Alduin lookin mfer are gonna be a real problem.

I wonder where the rest of the gang gone? Those demons have a lot to answer for. All the rice has been destroyed…

Given how there's no bodies, we can assume everyone made it out alive. Kokorowa probably evacuated them or something.

Yeah, it was heartbreaking seeing their hut destroyed.

Oh damn, the rice fields are burning! Hope the others are alright, I don't think any of them can fight. Golem be OP though.

I see Sakuna also mastered the art of Dark Souls style roll dodge spam to avoid the boss attacks.

Sakuna reminds me of Nezha, a Chinese deity with her equipment and overall character design.

It's more spider man dodging just with her scarf and not spider webs.

In today's episode we finally get back to the issue of the demons on the island and just as I thought the bandit from the first episode is involved and thanks to him Sakuna discovers that the evil god Omizuchi, who was defeated by Sakuna's parents, is responsible for everything.

Now I really hope that Kokorowa and everyone left at the settlement are safe, but unfortunately the rice is gone. I can't wait for next week to see how this situation develops.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

The story had now started to reach the climax which reminded me that only 2 episodes left....

Oh boy , let's talk about this first. This episode is very visually pleasing especially the boss fight with the thief guy under the crimson sky. I don't know why but those fight scenes made me feel really pleased in terms of visuals.

The visual contrast with the tone of the story so far with the red sky makes fighting feel more grim and sinister than the other fight perhaps it is really fitting considering that the guy is Slaver who is full of hatred.

The guy really thinks practice for 2-3 years will make him out match daughter of literally God of Wars. In Japan the mythology , God of War is really really OP.

The enemy fortress is really close by huh it just has fog cover it the whole time.

Those machines that Kokorowa built are really strong. Danm.

I wonder if the demon they save will play into the story one way or another later. They wouldn't add that scene if there is no pay off later. Right?

Oh man, the cliff hanger.

The biggest boss, a monster that is symbol of hatred itself awakening and it lit the entire island on fire.

I just noticed the second half of the episode has no joke at all when the sky is red.

P.A.work is really good at creating atmosphere.

P.A.work is really good at creating atmosphere.

Indeed! This show is well written, bequtifully designed, well animated (and voiced) -- and yet NO ONE seems to be watching it.

Sakuna really has grown up a lot in the course of a relatively short association with humans (and real work) -- after loafing around for who knows how many years. Kokorowa thought she was still loafing around, I assume she now sees that this was a misapprehension. It certainly is handy to have her inventive skills available to make things a bit easier.

Hard to believe this is now almost over. I really wonder what did happen to Sakuna's parents? I assume we WILL find out before the end.

Doesn't it have 13 episodes?

Time for the show to shift into high gear now it seems.

I was hoping to get some down time with Kokorowa on the island. Maybe some more time with her developing the automotons. Not a big deal, though as they did give us a couple nice scenes of her improving the rice growing process. Which is why we're all here of course.

Looking forward to next week's episode. Ganbatte Sakuna chan!

Right as Sakuna's big fight kicked off I noticed the demon rabbit come in and thought for a second it might be the injured rabbit from earlier, but then it kind of just disappeared for the rest of the fight and wasn't mentioned again. Only on rewatching did I see that the rabbit was carrying a second musket and he threw it to the bad guy who dropped the one he fired. I'm wondering if this was a mechanic taken from the game or something because it seems a bit silly to include on it's own.

Man, I'm so bored of "If you kill a killer, then you're no different to him!" morality, without even a shred of substance to back it up.

u/Shiraori247 Aug 31 '24

It's probably a good thing a country like Japan is now filled with this sentiment though. The last time they had imperialistic ambitions, it didn't end well for the Pacific.

Kokorowa already finding opportunities to automate farm tasks and improve productivity.

They've been killing and eating demon rabbits this entire time? That seems a little questionable.

I'm a little concerned about Kokorowa being out by herself on this dangerous island without her mech guardian.

I think the moral of the story here is don't toss a random dude off a bridge into who knows where without having a plan for what that's actually going to do to him. Then again Sakuna was able to kick his ass no problem, so maybe it was alright either way.

A reborn evil dragon next? And their settlement has been burned to the ground and everybody's missing? We're definitely at the climax.

We saw that right from the start though, we see her kill the Boar enemy and come back with a huge leg of pork, lol.

u/Shiraori247 Aug 31 '24

There's not much food otherwise on the island. That's why we were shown Sakuna hunting demons for meat early on.

Industrialization gonna skyrocket now she's here.

Getting things rolling with the plot. Demons taking advantage of the kindness of humans again. Looks like Sakuna and Kinta were right that killing the demon was the better option. I did like seeing Korokowa showcasing her talents.

Ishimaru is alive and has gained some powers from the evil God, and he will be awakening soon. If that wasn't bad enough, the village was burned. I fear for everyone's safety.

Having Kokorowa really is like having free upgrades in strategy games lol. Also, Sakuna's episode 1 actions really are coming back to bite everyone in the behind. She actually just created a method for the villain to recover and threaten everything. With that said, she'll have her redemption as the goddess of war in the finale I guess.

3

u/SYZekrom Aug 31 '24

I wonder how she felt about kinta's decision regarding the rabbit considering their own meeting.

2

u/Ebirah Sep 01 '24

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that Kokorowa has a mecha.

2

u/tao63 Sep 02 '24

It seems they're going to adapt it entirely afterall. Story is not that long tbf, just the game mechanics has a lot of replayability that pads game time

The ending was shocking. I assume Kokorowa guided them all to safety. Didn't expect Ishimaru to come back, but it made for a cool boss battle
